My wife holds BTC and AM stock. Used some of her AM money on this trip to Bali:)

She is now very okay with BTC (and my posting on the forum during family holiday trip)

The Wife doesn't mind it at all.  At first she was like "what's with all this talk about Bitcoins", then it turn to "I am sick of hearing about Bitcoins."  Angry

Then when I told her that you can actually by stuff with Bitcoins and bought grocery store gift certificates from Gyft.ca and told her about BitFash.com to buy clothes ...then she was like "That is cool" and now I don't hear much complaints from her about it, because now a portion of the grocery is covered by Bitcoins and she can buy clothes from Zara. Nuff said.   Grin

We've been over this Smiley. In general women are less technical and more risk averse causing a lower interest from them. As Bitcoin becomes less technical (layering) and the perceived risk goes down more women will be interested. May be not so much on forums however.

+1 right on Kimika, welcome to the forums. We are a very male strong forum, lots of heady technical, scientific types here.

If you need anything made, just post it on the forums. I'm thinking on the lines of,"What would I like to see in the Bitcoin community?"

We don't see many females, so your input is very valuable... don't mind the trolls, just go with the flow, they get entertaining after a while.

I just go with the flow and try to get into his interests, I've got a wallet and everything!

I don't understand why so many people are married to women who don't care about what they're interested in. Is this typical behavior when finding a mate, to not care about what they're interested in nor look for someone with similar interests?

for me i married the first female i ever met who didn't have a demon living inside of her. we may not share many interests but i VERY HIGHLY value the fact that she isn't an evil bitch.

oh and as soon as you make a child you will (hopefully) have at least 1 common interest.

the scam of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not a scam, it is just you.

Enron is not a scam. MCI WorldCom is not a scam. JP Morgan is not a scam. AIG is not a scam. They are legit. And they stole Billions.

She was all about it when the price was topping $280 a pop, and the earning calculator she was playing with was saying that 2ghs would earn some extra cash. But then of course as difficulties went up, and the price went down, and the cost to further invest in mining infrastructure went off the scale... She puts it up their with buying crap for my supra, or building a new gaming rig. "whatever" as long as your happy.

Luckily we have cheap electricity!

You're a lucky man IBCBen!!

Very badly, GF just thinks the government is going to come after us and put us in jail for providing ID to a banking institution.

Wow, you got one of the rare smart ones.

Que?  Undecided

I assume he is from the USA and she is thinking what will happen in about 5 years.

You think they will be put in jail for sending ID to MTGox? Really? Are they going to turn one of their states into a prison or something?

Most people who "give ID to Gox" end up having that ID sent to the US Govt. Gox in the past has been very open about working with the DEA and others.

also most people who "give ID to Gox" end up with BTC. Wait 5 years and see what the US Govt does with BTC.

Oh, I have no doubt NSA can get this info. Hell, I send my ID with Gmail in the past (not to an Exchange) so they know about me as well. My point was that they aren't going to incarcerate people for having a verified MTGox account or even having bought Bitcoins. They might try to confiscate them (Gold 1933), but how do they prove you have them?

This type of ignorant cultism is embedded deep into the scam of bitcoin. What once was a tool for decentralizing payments, has now become the bait and switch product at MLM meetings full of blind and gullible libertarians. All their cultist leaders need to do is say that someone is after the group and they will instinctively pay to the nose to their leader in a false belief that it somehow helps their cause, instead of making a few people rich. The government is the last group of people bitcoiners need to worry about in 2013. The real danger is following the cultists who try to sell you on paying for their own products and services as "helping bitcoin succeed" and begging you to not let them fail, all while flashing around money and bragging about the success they've had (on the cult follower's dollar of course).

A message to bitcoiners: stop making leaders with your money. You don't need one. That was kind of the point.BTC

Usually my wife goes shopping while I go down to the basement to check on the miners with a six pack, a bottle of lotion and some porn.

I don't understand why so many people are married to women who don't care about what they're interested in. Is this typical behavior when finding a mate, to not care about what they're interested in nor look for someone with similar interests?

I completely agree. It seems more logical to me to search for someone that shares interests with you.

Have you not seen the average female crypto nerd? Not the hot gf of the rich guys who fake interest but the true hardcore?

No, what do you mean?

Ahh okay. I understand your ignorance.

What, how am I being ingorant? I seriously don't know what you mean.

I'm not married but I have a long time girlfriend and she's totally cool with my Bitcoin obsession. She doesn't totally understand it but is happy that I can cash some in when we need to pay a bill and she's even happier now that I have my ASIC's and she realizes the earning potential.

I wouldn't say typical behaviour, but it may be a conscious choice.
Having lived for 7 years with a girl who shared almost all of my interests and now living for almost 3 years with a girl which is very different from me I must say I prefer the current situation.
Of course having someone who has different interests can be interesting, but I was more referring to someone who can understand and appreciate universal concepts such as freedom, choice, opportunity, etc. Bitcoin shouldn't be the root of decention between people and I don't understand why it is for so many.

Now on topic: she handles it very well. She knows what a Bitcoin is and all that. She stays away from my own businesses and lets me do what I have to do.

Would like to hear how your wives handle your Bitcoin shananagans?

Do you have your own spot in the house where you can do your thing?

Living with a wife that dont understand this stuff or allowing you to do your thing can be hell!!

Have a great day!!
