So we are discussing MMM Nigeria here? Because I am aware of other companies sharing the same name and they are labeled as Ponzi, HYIP scams.
I don't believe their Nigerian equivalent is reputable either, why they share that tainted name anyway?
They claim they are not a company but 'a way' to help people in need trasfer their funds, but their earning pyramid is strangely similar to how Ponzi usually works.

When MMM was introduced in many countries I cannot argue that the numbers of bitcoin users has greatly increased. But the fall of MMM also lead those people to have a negative thoughts on bitcoin, they left after MMM can no longer pay the members. If there is one thing that MMM brought to bitcoin it is the awareness of cryptocurrency to the community.

I quite agree with you about the awareness MMM has brought which to me is a kind of mixed blessing in the sense that majority came into bitcoin simply because they needed to use it as a "currency" not because they are interested not because they believe in it but because of MMM and when MMM stops paying, then they leave because they were never interested in the first place and we are back at the point we were before MMM...

MMM is an form of financial system which has been supporting users with a better earning. Recently a MMM from Nigeria has released a statement that they are issuing payment for its user profile holders in terms of bitcoin.

you need to start thinking about bitcoin as a global currency that all the people in all the countries are using not just where you live, and certainly not just one usage that you have seen ever in your life.

bitcoin's most usage is as an investment, and for trading. and most of those who are interested in bitcoin are interested in it for trading.

and then it is a currency where you can use without needing a centralized authority to dictate how you are using it. and also it is fast and cheap. but the currency part is not as big in some places but big in others.

then there is for gambling usage, which is very hot these days.

after all the above and many more, i'd say less than 0.01% of its usage is in scams such as MMM and other types of scam. and that is only because there are kids around that are stupid enough to put their money is such scams.

It has come to my believe that mmm has increase the rate of using bitcoin compare to that of the local currency which is now like devaluing our local currency in all part of the world. The question is "is Mmm increasing the value of bitcoin negatively or positively? Your opinion!!!
