It is simpler and more logical to follow the news channels of the company from which you are waiting for listing tokens.

You should follow the team on Twitter and Facebook so whenever they post an update on the project and it's listing you'll easily come to know about it. You should also join the telegram group and you can ask the admin about the listing.

Agreed. You never know. You can follow exchanges on social media and they usually announce it along with the project. Currently waiting on IoT Chain (ITC) to hit big exchanges. Very underrated but I know when it hits exchanges it'll be huge. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/iot-chain/

You can follow twitter and facebook profiles of the most well known exchanges and periodically check their posts. They usually make posts with the lists of added coins or tokens right after trading start.

Personally I learn it in the social group devoted to this project. There or the announcement hangs, or it is possible to ask a question directly.

There is no one hard and fast rule. You have to follow that ICO's webpage and social
media to know that. Watch coinmarketcap.com daily for recently added coins.
Also, many ERC-20 tokens start trading right after  ICO is over on etherdelta so
watching that is helpful too.
