this is my first post on this site, ive been browsing posts on this forum for almost 5 months now but just now decided to create an account
future apologies if this is in the rule breaking (i read the rules thoroughly so i guess this isn't violating anything?)
anyways, at February of last year i got into bitcoin, as i used to sell game items online, and most of the time people used bitcoin, which at the time i didn't really know much about, until i discovered that a then-14-year-old kid could create a wallet on blockchain.com and send and receive bitcoin for free through your phone. after about a day of a friend explaining to me how it worked, i sold a video game group (roblox group) that had some value in it for about 100$ worth of bitcoin.
fast forward to december of 2020, i had not really spent any of my bitcoin, i just held my $100 from that sale i got a few months ago, when i noticed that my portfolio balance was just under $300, which is almost a 300% return! i quickly rushed to try and sell it for regular cash, at the time i only had a 5 year old all in one desktop with integrated graphics, and as a game developer, i desperately needed a gaming computer, which was why i was trying to sell my bitcoin, so that i could use the $300 from that + some cash i had saved up to buy a gaming laptop. I went to bitcoin atms, pawn shops, gold/silver traders, even currency exchangers, but found out that bitcoin atms only allow you to purchase bitcoin, not sell it, and that all the other shops had nothing to do with bitcoin. running out of options, and in my desperation, i made the mistake of looking online for someone to exchange my bitcoin for money on paypal. i found an individual on a forum, a site that i regularly used to trade game items, willing to exchange his money on paypal for my bitcoin. i guess you know how that went... in my desperation, fearing that the sudden rise in price was going to go down any moment, i went first and sent him my bitcoin, only to get blocked. not too proud of that one.
now, to march of 2021, i met a family friend, who introduced me to ethereum technology, including nft's. i was really amazed at how some simple art could sell for thousands of dollars. i knew i wanted to get into it, but i always procrastinated and forgot about it for awhile, that is until recently when a video popped up in my recommended about how to create an nft, aswell as an explanation to how everything worked, which gave me motivation to create one, which i did, and you can see it here on rarible.com
