I have just tried to launch XMR-Stak-RX on this old but proven notebook with Intel Core 2 Duo T4400. Checked hash of the download, looks valid. Still, I don't seem to get any shares approved by pool, only info abot newly detected blocks:

What kind of CPU should I get to obtain at least 3000 Hash/s? Will Core i5-8400 do this job?

Anyone who has more experience with Monero, please, leave your comment.

Can anyone still confirm if RandomX algo supports AES in CPU? Remember that with AES activated we used to get more better hashrates with older algorithm, any answer will be appreciated, happy mining

Due to the recent XMR upgrade its become very easier to mine with CPU topping the profit table and beating most GPU, if you can get your hand on hexacore CPUs or some new high end CPU you will be surprise how much you can earn with just CPU mining only

which miner are you using? how many threads? any OC settings?

GPU #0: GeForce GTX 1060, 2380.49 kH/s 

I7 7700  I`m only getting 5.5Mh/s 

(lol) Even my previously idle i3-4130 is mining with 3 threads (left 1 thread for obvious reasons) @ 2.4 - 2.7 MH/s.
That's for a fraction of your GTX 960's electricity cost.

Ryzen 5 1600   13.57 mh
I7 8700k             12 mh
I7 7700                  8 mh
Amd fx 8350        7 mh
Nvidia  gtx 960    1.2 mh :-)

Total 70 mhs ~ 100 vrsc a day

It is an interesting time in cryptocurrency mining, because depending on what you're mining, with what hardware, and when, you can potentially have a very profitable mining rig. Monero hardforked to RandomX a CPU only mineable mining algorithm, which has greatly increased interest and profitability in CPU mining. Recently Veruscoin hardforked from Verushash 2.0 to Verushash 2.1, and when this happened only CPU miners were available for their mining algorithm, so it was very profitable, and still is, to be mining Veruscoin with your CPUs. Veruscoin can be GPU mined, same with Monero, but due to their respective mining algorithms it is simply not profitable to do so. In this video I will explain how I increased my mining profitability by 10x, and explain how you can use the same formula to do the same with your passive cryptocurrency mining income. I will also review Monero RandomX CPU mining along with Veruscoin CPU mining. Also note that FPGA miners are certainly coming for the Veruscoin network, and then they arrive CPU mining earnings will decrease, potentially drastically.
