I hear everyone talking about how it's going to be alt coin season when bitcoin season is over. But how? Whenever bitcoin falls, for some whack reason alt coins follow suit. Even those coins whos projects have nothing to do with bitcoin like Vechain.

That is not true, altcoins do crash with bitcoin but it is not all of them, most times it’s just a few of them that crashes and it is mostly from the top position and that’s why we never notice the smaller coins that are doing good, because when we see the top altcoins that are crashing we think it’s going to be the same for all the coins in the market, but the truth is that it is not like that. Bitcoin can crash on its own and altcoins will not be affected , the same way that you can see bitcoin increasing in price and there will be a lot of altcoins that are crashing in price. It goes a lot of ways, they can all go same direction, and they can also go the opposite..

In fact, when the bitcoin season ends, most of the altcoins will follow the downward trend, so it is possible that when the bitcoin trend falls the market turns red. Instead of making the altcoins increase but in reality not all altcoins get the same pump, so keep that in mind because not all altcoins have the same chance of going up.

Altcoins have been pumping. It all depends on the one you are holding.  Most of my altcoin portfolio has done more than 10x. If you check the coinmarketcap, you will see many alt have pumped past their ATH. Whichever way, the market has performed very well.

when the altcoin have contributed well enough, then we will see the price for each altcoin break down and look forward to the moment the pump is made if bitcoin exceeds the ATH price again. then there's nothing wrong with moving part of the portfolio to altcoin, on a short-term note. because if Bearish comes it is likely that all prices will follow the bitcoin correction.

Altcoins have been performing well in the market these days despite of bitcoin in a big correction. I did expect for altcoins season to happen this year but not as early as this year. Now, we can see altcoins are moving opposite from bitcoin just like doge coin which is currently at its high peak. I think altcoins these days have been creating good developments that made investors see how potential they are.

Indeed, there will be many people who have perception that altcoin season will come when bitcoin bull run is over. Logically yes, because there will be many investor who will move their money from bitcoin to altcoin or at least when they sell bitcoin to take a profit. But, in this bull run event I see that there is no altcoin season. Most altcoin price will just follow bitcoin price movement, I mean when bitcoin was increasing then altcoin will do the same thing.

But, in the previous event (bull run) the scenario is bitcoin will increase a lot and most altcoin will dump. Because there will be many people who will just focus to invest their money in bitcoin. And when it is over or in some cases the altcoin season will come when bitcoin price is moving sideaway. The most altcoin investor will pump an altcoin when bitcoin just stuck in the certain price. This has happened in the bull run 2017 ago, but now it is not happened most altcoin price just follow bitcoin price movement.

Market fluctuates and everything is affected. Bitcoin drops does not mean it will continue to drop and wont hike gain, when this happens, maybe crypto world will vanish. Maybe altcoin season will now get higher price for those potential coins because it is the opportunity to altcoin to gain more value while bitcoin is dropping. Take this time as an opportunity to buy bitcoin because this is always the best coin and even institutions investing on it.

It is true that if the portfolio calculation tends to be more heavily charged on alltcoin it will be very risky when the Bitcoin price enters a major correction zone. but there is nothing wrong too, when you want to allocate 1/4 of the total portfolio into altcoins, with the implementation of a temporary trading system and return to the bitcoin path after making a profit from selling altcoins.

I know that people are expecting an alt season but the reality is that as long as there is a crash going on, that will result with all of them going down all together and not just bitcoin. Right now alts are hanging by a slight thread and trying to hold on, but if bitcoin crashes under 40k that means everything will be lower as well we are not going to see alts going up in that case.

People hope that bitcoin would be better, people hope that they could see bitcoin at 40k while eth is 5k and bnb is 2k or something like that (numbers were made up) but the reality is that if we see bitcoin going down that much the same will happen to altcoins as well. Remember in 2018 the alt season was the start of the big bear run, bitcoin dropped first, then alts started to drop afterwards and we went down to insanely low levels, just hope that we won't have that again.

No one was saying we were at the top at $65k. It's always when the price drops a little people start to get a little agitated.

If this was the peak of the market cycle, very unlikely, then we're in luck as its one of the most stable peaks we've had! We haven't even broken out of the trend line we've made over the past months yet too so...

I think alts peaking after bitcoin peaking was merely speculation and might only have happened last time? There's potential some investors move away from bitcoin as it crashes as they're not as related to it anyway - different models and gaps they're trying to fill as you've said - and some investors might get distracted by other stuff as the price falls and panic invest into something else.

Yes last time there was an ICO boom that happened also at the time when bitcoin transaction cost skyrocketed so people begun to exit BTC that was at its peak and move some of the money to altcoins because they were cheaper to transact with.

At the same time we had all that drama with BCH being labeled as the new king and its price went crazy. Many people thought that Bitcoin was going to be dethroned and bought altcoins.

There's no rule that says rich bitcoin traders will move to altcoins when it peaks.
Most of the time when the price of altcoins goes up faster than the price of bitcoin does this is because retail investors have decided to buy altcoins, institutional investors and other whales do not really see the need to invest in those coins and even if they wanted to do it they cannot do so because they will be incurring a huge risk, if they were to invest in an altcoin with a low volume they will make it skyrocket buying way less of that coin in the process and when they wanted to sell they will crash the price so it does not makes sense for whales to buy altcoins at all.

From my experience am having I believe altcoin season might be near am not sure about it but anything can happen at anytime at any moment cryptocurrency can't be predicted, currently the dump happening to bitcoin I believe is just a sign of correction which I believe is normal bitcoin dump is really affecting other altcoins which is making them to dump more but I believe whenever bitcoin is stable definitely altcoins will definitely start moving gradually. If bitcoin did not dump more definitely I believe it might be altcoin season but if bitcoin continue to dump them I believe history is about to repeat itself.

they can say that because that is what they do .
they sell btc and embrace altcoins but they are wrong if they think that will work easily because they are not the only one that invest here and other investor has a different plan than them and they can sell both btc and altcoins resulted for the dump of this two coins .
they shouldnt predict if there will be alt season or not but it will be sure if they will wait for it to occur .

I hear everyone talking about how it's going to be alt coin season when bitcoin season is over. But how? Whenever bitcoin falls, for some whack reason alt coins follow suit.

Alt season is already going on from start of this year. Alt season usually last few weeks up to few months longer then bitcoin bull market.  It is expected to last for half more year. But who knows, bear market can start tomorrow.

We cannot tell when this season happen but it could start tomorrow or next following days but even if the market is now at unknown state still we should grab the opportunity if we can see some good movements especially with bitcoins. But if alts will start to move up after the bitcoin dumps well provably its good to accumulate the other top alts but also I will explore to the possibilities to grab some low cap tokens with good potential to see if I can get a profit with them.

What is unknown is what will happen tomorrow and in upcoming months. What happened in last half of year we know and that was a Bitcoin bull market and alt season.

From start of the year total marketcap of all coins went from $776 billion to $1.8 trillion. So it more then doubled. In same time price of Bitcoin increased about 10%.

Some of the altcoin addicts have this false belief that altcoin will gain in case Bitcoin goes down. Let me tell you, that is completely wrong. Many of the altcoins have no real usage of their own and even those with real life usage are getting pumped up only because of Bitcoin. If Bitcoin goes down, then altcoins will go down even more. Look at what happened in 2014/15 and 2018. Back in 2018, Bitcoin declined by as much as 80%-85%. And at the same time, many of the altcoins decreased by anywhere from 95% to 99%. The percentage drop will be always greater for alts in case of a correction.

Yeah, because Bitcoin is the leader of all digital currency, of course altcoin as bitcoin subordinate will always next. But, look at Ethereum, it was still in a higher value despite of bitcoins dump and another good thing that Ethereum gas fee is also getting lower. It seems that altcoin always rely on bitcoin, maybe because the investors of bitcoin is also the investors of altcoin. I know people in crypto world doesn't focus only on bitcoin alone because they also saw some altcoins has a capability to give huge profit to them.

How can we say that after the bitcoin season will be follow by the altcoin season in which we clearly see the market that yes the bitcoin is slowly falling but still the altcoin is following the path of bitcoin. I don't understand why people still saying that this is the time of the altcoin even though they are seeing the sudden fall of the altcoins in which it includes the whole market. We see that on the past few years, whenever the season of bitcoin is already done the altcoin will rise but look at now, the altcoin is dumping also. Is this really the season foe altcoin?

This "alt season" shit used to drive me nuts last year when I was browsing the altcoin sections (before I put them all on ignore).  There were so many threads about "when altcoin season starts?"

Altcoin season may be real. But far too many expect all the useless scam shitcoins and dead projects come back to life because of this; too many hope that their worthless bags of coins will worth something again. And that's why they all hope and ask "when". Too many don't understand that with so many altcoins and new ones still coming out, altcoin season means every "season" something else.

How were you able to conclude that the top is in? Many analysts said the same when bitcoin was around $40k until Elon musk step in by surprise. Don't be astonish when another billionaire step in anonymously.
Altcoins tend to recover very fast when bitcoin fall and during Altcoins season, bitcoin tend to consolidate for weeks before stepping into another trend. Remember, the trend is your friend but during Altcoins season, bags as many Altcoins gems you can lay your hands on. The ride is swear with taking off profits.

Yes, something like that is very possible. It’s not every coins that will go down with bitcoin if it should go down, there are also coins that are going to keep growing and this will even be the time they will reach their ATH price.

You can see litecoin as an example, although litecoin do follow bitcoin to an extent, but there is always that difference there. When bitcoin was having a huge pump, litecoin was moving slowly, but since became kind of stable and dropped from it’s ATH price, litecoin has been moving up quickly. And if you check the history, things like this has also happened.

We have had this experience in time past after experiencing dump with bitcoin, we see altcoin gradually the following suit even ethereum likewise the increase in bitcoin price affecting the price upwards so this probably what brought about this saying but there has been a scenario where bitcoin increase was inversely proportional to altcoins.
That is the thing, some people think that bitcoin going up means alts going down, some think bitcoin going up means alts going up as well, some believe bitcoin going down means alt will go down, some think bitcoin going down means alts will go up. We do not have an exact reason why one goes up and why it goes down, we just guess.

I believe while bitcoin goes up, others go up as well in fiat, which means how much dollars a coin worths depends on bitcoin going up or down, whereas I think when bitcoin goes up, most alts go down in bitcoin, as in how much bitcoin an altcoin worths but overall even if it drops in bitcoin value, because bitcoin increases in dollar, that coin will go up in dollar as well. This is why there is nothing to worry, alts are usually fine because they go up in bitcoin value or they go up in dollar value both of which works for me.

This "alt season" shit used to drive me nuts last year when I was browsing the altcoin sections (before I put them all on ignore).  There were so many threads about "when altcoin season starts?" or the like, and IMO it was just a stupid two-word phrase that everyone kept repeating like parrots.

There's no altcoin/bitcoin seasons that I know of.  Sometimes bitcoin lifts up altcoins when its price goes up, but sometimes they're not correlated at all.  Right now I'd say bitcoin and altcoins are more or less moving together, so there's probably a lot of money being spread out across the entire crypto market by speculators.  Some alts have gone up by crazy multiples (like doge), and it just makes me scratch my head.

In any case, if anyone is wondering about when this so-called altcoin season is going to start....it's already begun as far as I can see.

Altcoin season usually starts after Bitcoin investors are on profit. And that's already done.
So I also agree that the altcoin season may have been already in progress. The proper, solid, valuable altcoins did increase in valuation.
There also was the DeFi craze, there's also the NFT craze, what else you expect? Not all shitcoins will rise.
If you look at charts for last couple of months for Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin and many others, you'll see that the market is far from "unknown state".

Bitcoin is still there, we have also seen some altcoin going stronger when the bitcoin keeps on going higher, some people feel being nervous when something happened just like this, whenever bitcoin drops a little bit, we will see a lot of tweets about it and saying bad things that might happen in bitcoin, we should always remember that bitcoin is used to it, the inflation and deflation for the price of bitcoin is pretty normal, I still believe that bitcoin can still recover from this little deflation.

Here you have to know the fundamentals, if Bitcoin rises in price the altcoins remain somewhat stagnant, some fall in price, if there is confirmation that the Bitcoin market is in an uptrend, the altcoins follow the same direction as bitcoin, this pattern is the which was seen in 2017 and I think that for a season of altcoins to repeat itself, bitcoin must be in an uptrend, otherwise it will not open, this because all altcoins depend directly on Bitcoin and those altcoins that do not follow the sense of Bitcoin It is because it survives from the pump and the dump.

There can be no altcoin season if Bitcoin is in a downtrend, investors are simply not going to trust a market where altcoins bleed due to the bearish effect of Bitcoin, it is something that is not possible. I know that the patterns in the markets sometimes repeat themselves, but this is not a pattern, it is like knowing how the Bitcoin market and the altcoin market work. 2017 was a year that taught many how the crypto market moves and I think it still moves that way with regards to altcoins and the altcoin season.

Well I had one opinion for this thread earlier but after reading few of the articles on the recent drop I have changed my opinion a bit regarding the current situation. It’s clear that current drop is all because of drop in hash rates from the China mining operations. The effect is mega due to huge 24% drop in hash rates. Now once the hah rate is restored we can see the breakout of crypto one more time.

Irrespective of bitcoin and altcoin relationship both the worlds will enjoy the upward economy.

You can read more about the incidence here: Reference for China stuff

When Bitcoin goes down, a few altcoins go up, but when it goes sideways more altcoins will increase in price.
To determine the altcoin season it is necessary to consider the technical factors of the chart. When the BTC.D domain decreases and Bitcoin price increases slowly or sideways, Altcoin increases the most strongly. Track Bitcoin movements for a sound trading strategy. Market news is important in the short term, but the honesty of the price line is worth the longer term.
Under normal circumstances, bitcoin would affect the whole thing.  In it, shitcoin will lose blood.  Even so, I subconsciously summarized it.  Not many coins can be "special" and bring a sensation and heat that can overcome that barrier.  Currently, Sovryn is the only person I see them coming to the end, sure when combined with this gravity and support.  A good project! Shocked

It's far from vanishing if that's what you're thinking. We will eventually know if this altcoin season is about to end soon. Because at the end of the cycle if the comparison would be the same as 2017.

Then the drop of bitcoin would be continuous and then the altcoins would follow too. But if you have the analysis and can read the basicality of the market, you'll have the belief that it's not yet done. All of these drops are still a chance for accumulation.

People have correlated dips in bitcoin's value to altcoin season, when what might have happened is just pure coincidence backed with a couple of propaganda. Truth be told, it doesn't make sense for Altcoins to follow suit after bitcoin has dumped in value, unless these people who sold their bitcoins reinvested their money on other cryptocurrencies which doesn't make sense because bitcoin offers better growth opportunities than any coin in the market, at least when we talk about long-term growth.

I believe everything will recover, there is no rush into this, let things be things and eventually you will see that bitcoin will go up. Obviously not everyone will be capable of actually profiting from this because some people got scared and sold their coins at lower levels and that means when the price goes up they will be sorry that they sold it, however I believe there is a chance that we could actually see that increase bringing those people back AND some more people on top of it.

I have noticed that whenever bitcoin price goes up, there are more and more people, when a crash happens some of them leaves and some of them stays and that is why the number constantly increases. Eventually "what is bitcoin" 5 years ago became a question no one asks, everyone knows bitcoin and heard about it, I feel like more and more will be even involved with it as well.

Most of the altcoins that have entered the stock exchange, of course, always connect Bitcoin to have an exchange rate, of course there will be a connection when the Bitcoin price drops so some altcoins will follow suit.  basically the role of Bitcoin in the exchange market is exactly the same as the USD which is the benchmark of exchange rates of other countries' currencies, therefore it is not surprising that Bitcoin is the parent of all the coins that exist.

Your comment about USD being a benchmark for exchange rate just as bitcoin controls the wave of crypto price is correct. This current drop of bitcoin price has also led altccoins falling out of profit they made recently. I think there is a little panic that people don't want to lose heavily as in 2017. Bitcoin has slowed down in volatility this week and also altccoins although few altccoins like dogecoin might sustain its profit because of Elon musk who is behind and giving support .

Yes, everyone expects that the end of Bullrun has become near, and this means that Bitcoin may have reached its peak and then it will drop to the bottom, I think the fall may be violent this time, of course when Bitcoin falls the Altcoin season will also end and the big fall begins, no one knows when that will happen Exactly, but everyone should be careful during this period, secure their deals, and try to secure their capital, or at least half of it, so that they do not get a big loss in the event of a sudden big decline.

There is trouble abrewing
I hear everyone talking about how it's going to be alt coin season when bitcoin season is over.
not everyone. only the altcoin pumpers and scammers were saying this to get newbies to buy their altcoin that they want to pump.

Quote
Whenever bitcoin falls, for some whack reason alt coins follow suit.
it is not a "whack reason" it is very logical as a matter of fact.
people in general have zero faith in altcoins so they never hold on to them for long. when bitcoin falls it is an excellent time to start buying it in the dip. to do that you need money, the money that could be tied up in some altcoin if you are an active trader. so you dump that altcoin to go to bitcoin market and start trading.

Quote
Even those coins whos projects have nothing to do with bitcoin like Vechain.
it is not about having anything to do with bitcoin. none of the altcoins do anyways. it is about that altcoin not being used for anything else except for trading or if we wanted to be correct for pump and dumps.

Quote
I really feel like we've hit the market cycle top earlier than expected tbh
the altcoin market cycles are actually very short and sometimes big in pump size. also there is no reason for all altcoins to be pumped at the same time. so you shouldn't expect that either. for example during the past couple of days as all altcoins were dumping there were some that were pumped hard.

Don't say it is completely wrong, how are you sure if that is the case, maybe you have a better version of the 2017 alts pump! We get that many alts don't have real usage,  but it has always been the case even in the 2017 historic alts price pump, many alts back then has no real usage but they still pump like crazy anyways, didn't they say history always repeat itself?

Between it seems you are not aware that many alts have already pumped since December to date, it may not be a simultaneous pump but it does happen separately from the old to the new alts. Coingecko and cmc is there for references.

While talking about the smaller alts, the biggest problem is that they are unable to sustain their high prices for a longer duration. These coins have very small trade volumes, and all it takes to trigger a pump is a few million USD in purchases by one or two individuals. Also, many of these coins are listed only in a small number of exchanges which makes it easier to manipulate their prices. The problem is that once those who manipulated the prices book their profits, the new investors get trapped. There will be no demand for the coin and they will be stuck with useless coins or tokens for the rest of their life. Now this is what happened in 2017/18. You may disagree with me, but I have just posted what I saw before my own eyes back then.

That's why this must not be called an alt season meaning people mostly are wrong in this part because Bitcoin falls with altcoin is not an Altcoin season because the real Alt time is when Bitcoin drops badly and Alt coins will grow higher and higher.

For me this is just a Investors changing way of bagging money , and usually they are doing this to make people believe about that altseason thing.

Not yet ended for bitcoin. If it does, there's more to this correction and it would be brutal and many will not going to like it and will have a thought that it's the end for cryptocurrencies.

Maybe but maybe not too. Just wait until the market starts to drop or if it's really the peak that we've reached. If not, bitcoin will eventually recover and would hit back again $60k.

It's because so much of altcoin market cap is made up of bitcoin pair trading, so a significant portion of the market cap is denominated in bitcoin and translated into USD equivalent.  Therefore, when bitcoin falls all alts tend to follow suit if they have a significant portion of their trades done in bitcoin.  99% of altcoins are pure trash anyway, I'm not sold on the concept of "alt coin season" even being a thing.  If you're buying them, you're probably making your portfolio worse in the vast majority of cases.

Alts can follow BTC decrease in price for many reasons, but that doesn't mean that there's a correlation between them. For instance, one event (e.g. someone intentionally spreading panic, in an attempt to lower the confidence coefficient among people towards cryptocurrencies) can influence both Bitcoin and alts, only Bitcoin is, firstly, more susceptible to many factors, and secondly, is more noticeable. Due to this, it might seem as if alts go after Bitcoin, while in fact both of them were simply suffered from the same cause.
Right now, as people are getting to know the crypto world a little better, I think, there is actually a chance that alts market won't behave similarly to Bitcoin and some may even switch to them, while things with BTC aren't too good. This is why altcoin season may come.

Not like it’s not possible it’s not every altcoins in the market that goes the same direction with bitcoin (having correlation), most of them don’t have any correlation with bitcoin at all, they are just on their own lane, so there is the possibility of these coins increasing in value even when bitcoin crashing, it’s normal thing and it happens like a lot of times, we see it happen.

Although that might be the same for coins like Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and all of them that moves the same direction with bitcoin.

That has been wrong many times before as well. We have seen bitcoin to be up and alts go up with it, and we have seen bitcoin go down and other coins go down with it, but for some reason these people believe that bitcoin needs to go down in order for their coins to go down. That is why I do not think that they know what they are talking about.

There will be some increase differences, but it will always be on the same route as always. I am not saying there can't be a moment when bitcoin increases 10% and others increase 20%, that is possible, but we will not have bitcoin go down 10% while others go up 20% that is not going to happen. So this is why we should want all the market to go up all together, that is the way it will work. In any case I think bitcoin will recover anyway so this is not a problem right now, it looks fine.

That's true, i think bitcoin is still the number one cryptocurrency because no other coin can beat it yet, so i think it's kinda hard for it to be altcoin season if bitcoin is over. In fact, many altcoin depends hardly on bitcoin, like when btc price went up, they might rise as well, but when bitcoin is down, most of them follow in the same direction. Unless there's another altcoin that is more preferable rather than bitcoin, i think it will be hard for altcoin to compete after bitcoin is over. Except there's trully one coin that can replace btc, which is hard to find tbh

Many altcoins gianed significants increase when the price of bitcoin fell from 65k to 61k. For instance, dogecoin increased up to 0.45 per coins in a short time. However, I doubt that there is any coin can survive when bitcoin decided to decrease dramatically from 59k to 50k in just a few hours. It is not a good sign to thrive. Thus, altcoins have to be sell off after bitcoin

Maybe some of them thinks that the funds that were gone in bitcoin will be transferred to other altcoins. This is the common theories and rumours out there which is quite absurd due to the fact that these dip have nothing to do with other alts.

An altcoin season is simply the moment altcoins outperform bitcoin as a whole and the market dominance of bitcoin goes down, even if bitcoin goes down in price if altcoins drop more slowly then we are still in an altcoin season and that is exactly what it is happening, you have to stop thinking in terms of price and instead think on what the market as a whole is pushing forward and it seems obvious we are in an altcoin season since the market dominance of bitcoin is now below 50%.

Most of the altcoin follow Bitcoin rally and same is happening this time but still we need to calmly handle these situations. We need to look that we are still far ahead of 2017 crash and some are comparing this drop or correction period with that time.Just have a look at current and 2017 market then you should find the difference. We are still trading above $50k which is impressive. Many investors have plunged their funds from Bitcoin market due to which prices have been dropping but Dogecoin is witnessing insane rise. The main reason is investors are now shifting their funds towards Dogecoin in hope of getting huge returns but it is temporary pumps and in the end we will see btc rise and altcoins following its path. It's just a normal correction but soon bull market will mark upward trend in market. So be positive.

No, it doesn't work like that perhaps they are talking about Bitcoin dominance because as Btc dominance decrease the number of people investing in altcoins is increasing but if Bitcoin dumps no Altcoins gonna happen. Based on what I have observed in this market as Bitcoin dump it most of the altcoins tend to be drag down as well.

There's a chance but there is also a chance that it isn't. I don't think institutions are done accumulating especially now that  Bitcoin undergoes a correction so that means time to buy cheap tokens.

Not necessary btc will fail for alt season to begin, what you read explain that btc dominance is dropping for alts to have a chance for price pump, when they say btc dominace is reducing doesnt mean btc will fail it means btc losing hold of the market, investors are probably shifting focus from btc to alts, hence the reason why btc dominance is reducing, but for now, alts are down same as btc, i guess we will have to wait and see the outcome of this shift of dominance, if it will eventually have a positive effect on the price of alts.

Take a look on coingecko or coinmarketcap on Bitcoin dominance and be surprised badly. Few months ago Bitcoin dominance was around 65%. Today it is close to falling under 50% line, while Ethereum is on its usual level of 10-12%. If this is not an alt season or at least a parody of it, then how to explain it? It might even be, that all that time, before Saturdays drop, we were in alt season, just on the background of Bitcoin continues growth, we did not realize that. And not it is over.

To me it looks also like a fairly high correlation between alt coins and bitcoins. If there were a big drop in bitcoins then I don't think that alt coins would start to rise. Most of the investors are holding bitcoins and alt coins. So it one position would go down I don't think that selling it and going into another coin would happen. If a big price drop would occur overnight then most of the investors would likely just hold their coins. You don't want to be grabbing a falling knife.

The correlation between bitcoin and altcoin movement is still unsolved mystery so we can not surely say that if bitcoin is dropping then altcoins must drop behind it. Many projects are being driven independently now a days and they have their own path of development. I don’t think that we should be thinking their direct proportion all the time. Just take doge for example, a joke coin or meme coin with no serious intentions got pumped so high and that was impossible to happen ever. But that unlikelihood of the pump is disappeared in the thin air just because some rich guy tweeted about it. So yeah, things are changing!

Unsolved mystery?Really?
Altcoins are just a shitty addition to Bitcoin. They aren't even competing with Bitcoin.
If you realize that altcoins are just an addition to Bitcoin, you get to see the big picture-altcoin prices are connected to the Bitcoin price. If Bitcoin drops, altcoins drop.If Bitcoin goes up,altcoins do up.
"Altcoin season" is just a hype term shared by the pump&dump altcoin traders,to keep the hype around altcoins.
In reality, there's no such thing as "altcoin season".

I like how you started your comment, the correlation between Bitcoin and alts is unsolved mystery! In some way, it is... simply because it's a 24/7 market with so many parties involved, and we all know if someone makes a profit others lose money, it's not possible to go around that! So people do what they want, selling and buying like crazy, moving from one asset to another...

We are in a bullish period for some time... I guess we can say for some coins that they have their momentum! Doge is a good example, but not the only one!

Yeah just like you mentioned, for some reason it happens like that but this does not mean the Bull market has come to an end considering the natural way Bitcoin would fall and Alts would rise before the bear season but caution most be taken as well in the general crypto trading space where any thing can happen. And again I dont suppose with all the institutional investment, the market would turn around this quick downside.

Not yet ended for bitcoin. If it does, there's more to this correction and it would be brutal and many will not going to like it and will have a thought that it's the end for cryptocurrencies.

I really feel like we've hit the market cycle top earlier than expected tbh
Maybe but maybe not too. Just wait until the market starts to drop or if it's really the peak that we've reached. If not, bitcoin will eventually recover and would hit back again $60k.

Not because many talks about that meaning this will happen correctly .  look at the market now https://coinmarketcap.com while Bitcoin is dumping Yet all altcoins (Aside from Dogecoin) is also dumping things that is not the same last halving because when Bitcoin starts to fall late December 2017 Ethereum and some altcoins starts to increase also.
