No comments on here has proven that laptop mining can last when using them 24hrs per day this shows that no one here is using laptops for mining but in China there are miners that have build farms with laptops only, I have no proof but the pictures and info is online.
If you have been using laptops to mine coins since 2021 I will like to know the condition of those laptops right now, are they still in good shape? And bad behaviour after those intense usage? I just want to know though because I think laptop is a good option too
now you ask this , never knew it was possible to mine on laptop but i saw/heard story's where people had build room's full with mining laptop's so there has to be an good option for it i guess but also would like to know if the laptoms are harmed or not
Sorry to say I can't even use laptop for gaming no matter how high end they claimed to be, I can afford one but instead I went with a 4K UHD TV and a Xbox series X for my gaming addiction and for mining I just go with GPUs, laptops can't even play games like their discrete GPU counterparts, aargghh leave laptops out of mining business it's bad.
A colleague of mine has an HP Omen laptop with 1660 ti and is mining since June or July 2021 I don't remember exactly when he got it but it is running fine so far by mining Ethereum,also this card is not one of those Rtx 3080 that can get heat pretty quick.I don't see any degradation right now to his laptop,it still looks like brand new when he get it at work.He also mines with his CPU Ryzen 5 some Raptoreums and everything is running fine so far,the laptop has three years warranty so no problems.He bought it at an expensive price though near 1500 EUR but he doesn't mine with it 24 hours of the day,for 24 hours mining laptops are a really bad choice.

Of course, the external condition will be ideal, because no one has used it, but we have experience that in the first year 10-30% of laptops that are used in mining break down. Of course, it is beneficial for him if the laptop breaks, because the retailer will be replaced with an analogue, the money will be returned, or the motherboard will be changed to a new one.I work as a System Engineer,I determine the state of the laptop by seeing how it performs,is it the same speed of processing as it was in the first days of purchase (despite Windows piling up lots of garbage files),is the cooling system the same effective as it was the first day and these two things which for me say a lot about the condition of the device I consider it to be like a brand new laptop.I agree if it happens that the laptop fails I guess the warranty covers any of the option above.
Before selling before selling the laptop, the cooling system is changed or the fan bearings are lubricated, the factory operating system is installed and the laptop will look very good.
And such laptops after mining will soon be sold a lot. It is sad.
I agree it is sad.That is why personally I own a laptop only for work and not for mining,I strictly use mining devices (usually specific mining motherboards) to run my GPU-rigs.
I do an inspecting of it before doing any service repair and I didn't see the need in this laptop to do a thermal paste cleaning that is why I considered it the same as brand new as the cooling was perfect,the OS didn't showed any signs of misbehavior comparing it when I first saw it.

Depending on the brand and quality, I think its probably a fair assessment to say 10-30% of laptops have issues within 5 years, regardless of mining. Buy a 3+ year warranty, problem solved.
If we talk about ordinary buyers, then after 2 years people forget about insurance and official guarantees, lose documents and, according to the law of my country, the service center has up to 45 years to solve the problem. So 60-80% of people who have a warranty do not want to wait 45 days and ask to have their laptop repaired quickly if possible. People do not want to give laptops with personal information on the hard drive to the service center, and the official service center accepts only a complete laptop.
If you are a cunning miner and bought 5 laptops in a store with 1 account, then you may be denied a refund or replacement of equipment, because the law gives privileges to ordinary buyers who use laptops for personal needs, not for business or mining. You will be suing for at least 6 months.
Official service centers are not available in all cities, and the repair period may require more than 45 days.
If in your country the repair service works faster, that’s good, but in my country it’s more profitable for me not to buy additional guarantees, but to mine on a laptop for 12 months, and then service it myself or pay a private master for a quick repair.
Play heavy game on a gaming laptop you will see how hot those things can get I'm sure they are perfectly made to handle those heavy gaming for hours and I don't see the difference between heavy gaming and mining coins, the only one I won't dare mine with laptop is raven coin.

You can use a gaming laptop for mining with no issue at all, at first I wasn't sure until someone that lives close by did this for a year, he took a loan that went wrong and now he is mining with his laptop to pay back that's what he said but the laptop still works.

There are 2 types of laptops out there. Regular ones and gaming laptops. You can forget about mining with a regular laptop since it usually has a low power GPU and you won’t make any decent profit.
Now on a gaming laptop you might have a high end GPU and also the laptop is thicker to make room for the larger heatsink to dissipate heat. This laptop might survive mining long term since it’s geared towards gaming.
In both situations you really should remove the battery to prevent it from heating up and exploding.

Laptop mining works but only for limited period of time, you will be lucky if your laptop can keep up for two years mining constantly nonstop, this is a bad practice and I will only do so if mining is extremely profitable so whatever happens I made more money anyways.

If a laptop has been mining ethereum for 1 year, then the miner has paid off his investment, but I'm not sure that he can work another 1 year in mining. I asked colleagues about this, and in the first year 2-3 out of 10 laptops broke down. But I do not advise you to buy a new or used laptop for mining now.
There are laptop mining farms out there. My laptop is over 2 years old and has a 1660ti in it. This makes 30mh if i wish. I would mine with a laptop if I could remove the battery. If the battery is permanently installed, I would not mine with it.

Even if you have a gaming notebook let's say with a gpu 3050 there is not an adequate cooling system and perhaps there is also a maximum electrical power limit but you can try some cpu mining
Laptops don't have the ability to cool like some desktops do even if you got those expensive gaming laptops with powerful GPUs. In fact, most of them have the wattage limits on the GPUs and CPUs to avoid over heating so that they don't get damaged.

A laptop won't get you far, but you can mine with some desktop apps that have the option of mining only when there's no usage of your laptop(in idle mode).

Even with modern/expensive laptops, it's not worth mining with them unless you mine something you think will rise up in the future.
