Interesting to know.. I always thought it was just the memory type - will look at EVGA and others - thanks

Brand matters big.  EVGA tends to use better quality components than other brands if you are willing to spend a extra $25.  The higher trim cards (SC, SSC, FTW, etc) lean even more that way.  I picked up three 1060 3GB SSC cards and one FTW in the spring of '17.  Each SSC cards' memory overclock very well (+820-850mhz) while the FTW is a little less (+435).  SSCs each dual-mine 22.4mh ETH and 243mh DCR.

In full disclosure, I may be an EVGA fanboy.  Worked within a remote team that developed their online community in 2008 and a few of my graphics are still used on boxes, like the EGC and EVGA GAMING logos.

Just be carefull which model of 3gb 1060 you buy, the 3GB MSI armor's hash higher than GIGABYTE GeForce GTX1060 WINDFORCE OC 3G for example (1832h/s vs 1475h/s on a 6 card rig)

Is that because of memory?  You're getting 305 out of the MSI?

All my new 1060s come with hynix memory.  They suck at ethash:19mhs at best.

If you go here http://yiimp.eu/bench?algo=all&chip=71 it'll tell you what people are currently getting on 1060 3GB and what setup they're running.. other pools also have benchmarks enabled.. you can then compare to the 6GB by just changing the graphics card you want to look at  Smiley

Yea.. those are easy numbers to find.. ETH is basically out of the question since most cards are Hynix now. Mainly looking for info one the other ones listed. Not as easy to find Sad

Gone phishing...
For equihash, the difference is negligible (on the order of 20 hashes/second).

For ethash/daggerhashimoto, you'll likely notice a much larger difference between the 3GB and 6GB models.

Thanks for the reply. I don't switch manually. So, the reason im asking is these two cards will likely follow what the other 6gb cards are doing because they are more powerful.. if that makes any sense.

I have 18x 1060 all 3gb and i am so happy...
I can mine hundreds coins you and it is very profitable just you have to choice the right coin to mine...
Zcoin you do 1000mh each card
Equi 280/290 (if you mine bitcoinz or btg is more profitable than zcash or zen)
Eth 24.5
Kekkac (smartcash is very profitable)
Bitcore btx is very profitable too

How you see there are plenty... Just you need to choise the right one for you

.. the 6GB?

I have a rig of EVGA 1060 6GB SCs what are switching around with MultiPoolMiner. They mostly stay on Equihash, Lyra2RE2, Neoscrypt and Lyra2z becasue most of them have Hynix Memory :/

I want to add two more cards. And i'm interested in saving a bit of money.. https://i.imgur.com/aBTOrog.png (CAD)

I read that the 3gb is about 10% slower on Equihash.. what about the other algos?
