There is no reason why Bitcoin could not be used for decades. About the price, I believe about 10.000 is possibe in 10+ years if all goes well

I believe Bitcoin will be used as independend currency many years 20+, there will exist government virtual currencies in next 10 years, but creation will be controlled by government and inflationary. Future of Bitcoin is as store of value + underground activites

Bitcoin itself will be around in the future, but I doubt it will be the official form of world currency in the future.  This is because governments and central banks need the ability to create money at will and have a monopoly on that creation.  Bitcoin, in its current form does not allow money to be created at the behest of a central banker.  It takes time & computing power to create the money and even then there is a limited amount of it available.

Certainly there will be some form of electronic currency with no exchange rates available at some point in the future, but again the central banks will require there to be a monopoly on creating and distributing it.  Anything that doesn't meet these requirements will not get the backing of governments.

Just my BTC.02

Bitcoin could be the money in the future if some big countries accept as their own currency. 1 btc = 1 million usd is not a farfetched idea.

How long do you think bitcoins will be around? What's your guess on the most they'll be worth? I personally think they will stick around for a long, long time. I'm guessing around five+ years, if not ten+. I think the only downside to them is you should be able to buy them with a Credit Card from your wallet, but I can see how thief's make that difficult. Another flaw is you can't reverse a payment, say if someone hacked your account and took your coins there's nothing you can do. As for how much they'll be worth, I don't really see them ever being worth more than 1,000$, but at this rate I'm sure they'll at least be worth around 800$ in the future.
