I bought some BTC on Coinbase last night and had it sent to Poloniex.  I know the BTC wallet address was accurate.  Its still pending 11 hours later and doesn't show up in the Poloniex deposit/withdrawal history.  Any clue on how long BTC transactions are taking?

Typically a bitcoin delivery transaction depends on how many unconfirmed transactions you can see here https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

And usually also depends on how much fee you provide for the fee, the greater the fee you give the faster bitcoin delivery process.
Yes, transaction fees matter a lot. The greater the fee is, the faster transaction is. Now a day, I think bitcoins are rising continuously in price so uncountable traders are cashing out their bitcoins or selling them off which is ultimately slowing down the process of transactions.

The transaction time depends on its priority, and what you pay for each transaction speaks for itself. However, according to my understanding, coinbase always pays pretty high fees for transactions, if they have sent it, you will get notice in a short time. The only answer here is that they have not yet made that transaction.

I had transaction from 2 weeks ago that I send from my wallet to a exchange within 1 hour. I pay a medium transaction fee around 120 sat/bye. The first 3 confirmations, I got it very quickly, but I have to wait for the next 3 confirmations, but overall I'm satisfied how quick my transaction was confirmed.

I think it really depends on how much you are paying in getting your transaction to be pick up by miners. I think my fees is around mid-high priority that's why it is so fast.

After this segwit2x actually this problem solved before after paying high rates also we need to wait for min couple of hours to get our bitcoins in our wallets. But now it's taking less time. If you choose high pay, you will receive coins within one hour. Or else it takes 2 or 3 hours. I sent my BTC from blockchain to exchange site it takes just 2 hours.
it should be taken care seriously as we suffering with this high fee in order for us to make much faster transactions we don't have any choice but to pay miners since they are the one whos processing our request hope after segwit2 everything will be resolve with fair time frame even without paying high.

It can take up to 20 minutes (usually less) from the time digital money gets transferred to the time this transaction is verified. Exceptionally, it may take up to an hour for your transaction to be confirmed, depending on amount and network conditions

I think the problem is on poloniex,
Many people complained they had problems with deposits, withdrawals and support ticket in poloniex
So I suggest do not use Poloniex if you want to trade Wink

Last few days it took a little big longer for transactions to performe, think that the network was a bit busy. But there is no unique rule on transactions time confirmation, it could be within half an hour or few hours, it could depend also on the fee you have used. Anyway, if the time takes to long you can always try with transaction accelerator.
He seemed to have traded a Bitcoin amount on July 30 or 2-3 days earlier. I think that, close to August 1, the Bitcoin split event will take place, so many people will withdraw Bitcoin on personal wallet so congestion will take place and long waits to be verified, even up to a day. Transaction fee is also a part. At present, transaction fees are quite high, if you let the transaction fee low, the transaction will take a lot of time, especially when trading a large amount of Bitcoin

Sometimes its take much time to be the transaction will process. That's normal sir that its pending in 11 hours because I tried poloniex also. There some times that they pending your bitcoin. If you can cancel it, please cancel it then try to do it again but if you cannot cancel, may be you should wait upto 10 days and past a ticket to them. I say that because I experienced that already.
Maybe you need to find another btc wallet that is not delayed in their transaction, you can try xapo or blockchain, you must use trusted bitcoin wallets and those wallet that are not having some problems like that, here in the Philippines, coins.ph is not delay, sometimes it is delivered ahead of time, they have a fast transaction.

I think 11 hour its lot of time, btc transaction dont have a exact time , it only depend on confirmation number and fee (more pay for fee faster transaction)
Personally i use blackchain and localbitcoin wallet, and in max 1 hour the transaction its confirmed

I think the timeframe of this post is different right now so different strategies could be used. And yeah you fee could tell you how fast the transaction is. But for me i traded small amounts like .007 or.003 to some sites but paid .001. I know fees are robbing us but what could we do about it? We cant just whine and let them adjust to us. Sometimes we should accept its changes and adapt to it. So for me every time i trade i pay .001 and i receive it in 1 hour or lesser with that kind of fee.

Bitcoins are receiving a lot of load because many people have started using Bitcoins. More the number of users more load it's servers will face. Another reason for late confirmation might be the low fees paid by you. The more fees you pay the more faster your transactions will be confirmed

I think the transactions are getting confirmed faster than before because a few minutes ago I saw that the pending transactions were 900+ and now it is around 750 so even if we are considering the new transactions, I think that the confirmation time is reduced to few minutes and transactions are getting confirmed faster than ever before, I believe that recent update caused this improvement.

You bought coins at the worst time we are all waiting for segwit and due that many exchanges have disabled to make any deposits or withdrawals from their wallet unless and until this segwit doesn't happen properly. You may see you bitcoins after 2nd of august

Yeah its true. As many advises us to restrain from deposits and withdrawals before, during and after the activation as our coins may be lost in the system. It has no assurance that it can be back to us or not. Well I hope your coins can be back to your wallet after the activation.
He sends on the 30th so can be able to transact and now he has received his bitcoin, I think it's because of the problems that exist in the coinbase itself, they say there is a transaction delay

Today I sent a payment from the purse blockchain.info. The transaction was confirmed very quickly 2-3 hours. The commission established an average.

I'm new to this but I think its working.  I received an email from Coinbase saying I sent BTC to the wallet address.  Coinbase now shows a transaction ID and that 1/6 confirmations are complete.  Poloniex shows the deposit of the correct amount of BTC and it says "COMPLETE" in green.  I only have 1 confirmation so I dont know how Poloniex shows its complete.  Should I sit back and do nothing until all 6 confirmations are complete or can I list them on the exchange?  I want to buy altcoins with the BTC.

However, you cannot see the tx id below your transaction of btc wallet. It will take the 1 or even more to complete the transaction. This issue was ongoing from the July 26th onwards.
Please wait till August 1st to send any bitcoins from the Coinbase wallet. They do not Bitcoin cash option also like blockchain.

It took 15 hours for me to send from Coinbase to Poloniex wallet.  The BTC is now there and I can trade on it.

Good thing you received it already though it took hours for you to received it, sometimes blockchain can be very traffic specially when most of the people are having their transaction.

Usually it takes thirty minutes or sometimes an hour. The bitcoin transaction confirmation used to take long as 24 hours in the past but then the problem was fixed, so it hardly takes thirty minutes to confirmation.
One of the common reasons for late transaction confirmation is the transition fee if you pay high fee your transaction is on priority and if low then it is less prioritize so it takes long. The other reason could be the fork issue going on.

First thing, I'm making it bold purposely, You shouldn't be doing any transaction until August 1st passes on and we get the green signal of transactions. That was ridiculous decision to take and also you are sending the money to exchanger, that is even stupid thing to do in this weekend.

See man, you might loose the funds in this period of time. There will delay in the transaction and why is all written on the dashboard of coinbase in orange highlighter if you could see it or have a time reading around the site.

I am watching some porn here and there but I am bored. I wanted to buy those fucking shoes today to get a discount, it sucks

LMAO, great response.  You are going to have to watch a lot of porn to keep you busy as some are reporting 34+ hours of delay.   Shocked

Coinbase will try to retain whatever amount of bitcoin they can from their users to get free BCC out of it during network split on 1st august. Also they might use very low fee during next few days to keep those withdrawal pending because you can get BCC only for confirmed BTC balances. I am not using coinbase right now and will not at any point in future too, they are just another paypal.

That's unusual for Coinbase, in my experience.  They're usually
pretty quick with the outgoing transfers.   If it says 0 confirmations,
you're OK though.   You just have to wait, it'll be on the blockchain
eventually.   Don't fret,  your money isn't lost, it's just stuck.  And
this is still better than what was happening earlier in the year.  11
hours is nothing compared to 72 hours or more.

The reason Coinbase is so slow at the moment is because of the upcoming fork. Everyone is transacting right now, which congests the network. They released a statement saying all transactions will be processed within 24 hours, so we will just have to wait and see.
Some are reporting 15/16 hour wait times and longer, so I don't think they are holding up to this promise, but in any case be aware that this is happening and there is no reason to panic.

You need not worry about that. Coinbase is working on backlog so transactions are delayed. I tried it two-three days ago and encountered similar problem. Usually Coinbase generate transaction immediately and one can track on explorer but currently it is taking time to initate. My transaction took 13 hours to complete.

How long it takes depends on the fee you paid but generally with a sufficient fee it should show up on poloniex within an hour.

Coinbase doesn't allow to choose random fees. It has one fee for all transactions irrespective of size and user.

Its on coinbase fault on which they dont still send those bitcoins which it wont really show up on the address on your poloniex. I do have recent transaction with coinbase transfer which i do make a withdrawal and for how many hours i do still see pending state which means they are still holding such transaction,it took for almost 12 hours or 15 hours but i didnt still bother since coinbase would really sent out those bitcoins and luckily the transaction went through and i do receive the bitcoin which i do request. Just have patience pal.

Are you sure you sent to the correct address? Take a look at your transaction ID and see how many confirmations it has. If your fee was too low its possible to accelerate it with viabtc.

I'm positive about the address.  I copied and pasted it and have gone back to verify it myself.  BTC was sent to the BTC wallet on Poloniex.  Coinbase says it has 0 confirmations and Poloniex doesn't even show it was sent.
How much transaction do you input? The minimum amount on coinbase? Bitcoin network is very slow and requires many confirmation to be verified it as legit transaction. Sending bitcoin now is unstable due to upcoming fork.

It was 0.17 BTC.

I bought some BTC on Coinbase last night and had it sent to Poloniex.  I know the BTC wallet address was accurate.  Its still pending 11 hours later and doesn't show up in the Poloniex deposit/withdrawal history.  Any clue on how long BTC transactions are taking?

How long it takes depends on the fee you paid but generally with a sufficient fee it should show up on poloniex within an hour.
