You cant be serious. Ripple is a joke as far as I am concerned. BTC and LTC have real value. Try buying a pizza with an IOU.

Or even better - try collecting on the IOU your buddy used to buy his pizza. "Uh, maybe Ill have it next week bro." Good luck with that.

$5k in debt is not worth $5k. Its worth less, and between that and a central issuing authority, Ripple will fail. But this thread isnt about Ripple.

Its about how Litecoins are awesome and will become a lot more useful and valuable as BTC hits the bigtime in 2013-2014.

Once the Ripple source code is released there should be no need of only accepting one or a few types/flavours of currency, any currency a customer wants to use will be useable as long as there is a pathway for their payment to Ripple though from the customer, in the customer's currency, to the merchant, in the merchant's currency.

So no worry about we accept bitcoin or we accept litecoin or we accept lire or we accept florins, just Ripple us a payment in anything that is convenient to you.

If the Ripple source code was available there would already be gateways for most altcoins.

.25c would be 25% of a penny.
Its either 25cents or $0.25

Simple poll, I see LTC is slowly trending back upwards on https://btc-e.com/exchange, right now its around $.075 per LTC, but its highly volatile.

How long before it hits $.10cents (I assume very soon - maybe next week) and eventually $.25c? Furthermore, if you think $.25c is possible how many years do you think it will take to hit 1:1 parity with the $USD? That would be a monumental achievement.

I see LTC becoming a lot more successful as mainstream people finally begin to learn about BTC in 2013, and as BTC mining becomes unprofitable, many many GPU miners will switch to LTC and while some will hold them or trade them for BTC, some people like myself actually will begin USING them more for transactions and I predict we will see businesses begin adding the option to pay in either BTC or LTC for products and services.

But first we need some sort of equivalent of Coinbase for LTC - something a totally average person with an IQ of 100 can understand and use without downloading anything or going through any hoops - just using an email address. Right now the currency is too small and not circulated enough for private capital to back a major project like Coinbase, but I predict that in 2013-2014 we will see some major growth in the LTC sector built around a paypal-like LTC payment processor/ewallet that helps to explode LTC's popularity amidst BTC becoming totally mainstream.
