No one has ever lost Bitcoin by using the sweep function.

It is basically just the process of Electrum sending a transaction from your old address to your new address. If it gets broadcasted, then you are fine. Even if its not, you can just delete the client and do it all over again.

Most connection can handle a transaction and downloading of blocks. If you can synchronize, you can do it without much difficulty.

Hello @ll,

I wonder how long will it take to sweep?

Problem is that I have a unstable wireless lan. I don't want to loose my BTC because of connection problems.

In a few days I could use tethering on my mobile phone.

Did you ever heard about issues with sweeping? Someone lost his coins?
