I've deposited money in my Xbox account one year ago. Never knew even that Steam accepts Bitcoin either. Many websites allow it but do not feature it on their homepage or so.. this is why Bitcoin isn't that popular. Imagine Microsoft showing up on their homepage "YOUE NOW ABLE TO GET THE FASTEST DEPOSITS - WE ADDED BITCOIN!", it'd make many others be interested in it.

i say this is more than enough, and to be honest what you want is a bit unrealistic to me. besides have you seen the page on Microsoft where you do the payments?
things can not get any better than this:

I think the link posted is the same link that was posted here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/microsoft-excel-supporting-bitcoin-1736242

ok, but i don't get what your point is?

WOW great news really!
Thank you very much for sharing.
I guess that Microsoft is the most important company until now, which accepted Bitcoin for payments.
This year couldn't start better Smiley
Hopefully, more ''big players'' will join and we will soon enter mainstream.

They've more players like this one.

If a lot of the tech companies will be starting to adopt bitcoin and this is being an interesting thing for watch in the future.
I do not get it how people act like this is a big game changer for Bitcoin. In case you did not notice this is old news. 2014 to be precise. And we are now in 2017! So if this would have an impact on Bitcoin, then it would already have happened.

well, I ever read a member here said that he could buy stuff (about microsoft, that accepted bitcoin as payment) a year ago. so microsoft already accepted bitcoin a year ago, but probably it is not the exact time when microsoft accepted bitcoin for the first time.

and i stumbled upon this: https://commerce.microsoft.com/PaymentHub/Help/Right?helppagename=CSV_BitcoinHowTo.htm

which says you can add money to your Microsoft account using bitcoin!

how log this has been a thing?

That is lovely news, guy. I expect all big companies accept bitcoin as payment method.
I think sooner or later Microsoft will accept bitcoin as traditional currency.

Where is my ring of blades...
Indeed Microsoft accepted bitcoin payment since 2014, but only for USA Microsoft online store, Microsoft must satisfy it, so they will broaden more markets.

seems like they are not to strict on this rule. since I just tried to add funds to my Microsoft account and it allowed me to do so, and I am not even living in the US but I should mention that I have given a fake random US address since I was only using this account for Microsoft virtual academy and nothing else long ago.

I agree with you, if microsoft wants more growing up, they must more support for bitcoins payment method.
And not only for USA microsoft online stores.
They must accept bitcoins for payment method on around of countries too, because it will make comfort the costumers of  system operating of computer from microsoft.

Have no idea, this is completely new information to me. And I can't remember that it was announced or published somwhere. Anyway, this is good to know and certainly one of the good promotions in the row for Bitcoin and Bitcoin users.
But I would like to know if anyone has been paying to Microsoft account with Bitcoins?
