You could probably get 0.000001btc per day which takes forever to reach 1btc. Give up the idea of mining bitcoin with GPU, that is what I am saying.

it doesn't stay consistent as the profitability goes down

GPU has been down so long most have sold their cards.  It's sad but chances are you can sell off cards and buy BTC and you will get more BTC then it would ever mine.

For BTC mining you just have to use a asic now.

Have to think this is the case selling the gpu for btc would certainly be best.

Probably it will take you some years to mine bitcoins using GPU as difficulty factor is increasing day by day.

According to https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator, it would take you (wait for it....) years to mine a whole bitcoin using that GPU. Isn't it surprising? Hahaha!
The result only tells you to not mine bitcoins using a GPU. :3

Hi, could someone give me a rough estimate on how long one would have to mine to achieve 1 bitcoin ?

Say the scenario/setup is as follows:

- 7970 GPU (500 avg Mhash/s)
- 24/7 operation
- Slush's pool (or similar)

Thank you

I am thinking it would be measured in light years...

just to let you know, 1 light year is exactly 1 year, and you will be 9460730472580800 metres away

You are right!  Cheesy

unless you count the meters as difficulty, then i'll probably accept that Cheesy

The answer is never for GPU. You need many Th/s for that.

Very true now GPU is not profitable for most.  I sold all mine and bought coins then asics.

1 gpu will never make 1 btc (i think safe to say) as of now.  (Small exception you happen to mine launch some asic resistant coin, and with A LOT of luck it goes up a lot)

Thanks for the links.

1st one showed me a near 0.1 TBC monthly gain, 2nd near 0.2.

Not sure I did this right but does 6-12 months for 1 coin sound about right?
You could probably get 0.000001btc per day which takes forever to reach 1btc. Give up the idea wot mining buffoon with GPU, that is what I am saying.
Yeah pal I'm not planning to mine with the GPU(nor at all really), just curious.

0.1 BTC monthly is for 500 GHs, not 500 MHs. Days of mining from home is over. Try cloud mining.

Try mining scrypt11 in multipools which pay in BTC. You will earn alot more Wink
