Worrying about SHA-256 will give you many more problems than Bitcoin failing...

I was talking to myself the other day trying to describe to myself what a bitcoin is, its this glowing orb of energy, you have can have some of it, I get to keep it. Im not sure what its full range of uses are but I am told this orb has many unique properties unlike anything else in the universe. It has zero mass, and yet is worth intangible amounts of wealth.

And today I find this picture... What world of attraction..

That is a very beautiful orb.

And a very beautiful way to think of Bitcoin. I like it a lot... must've been a great trip!  Wink

which species is more clever that you know about?

although you sure do seem to lower the average

Angry Well that's my point, we don't know everything. Our knowledge of the universe is extremely limited in the grand scale of things. We are far from a perfect race and hey... Anything can happen!

There is a big assumption: no mathematical weakness exists in the cryptography algorithms.

Agreed. I think we would be silly to assume that absolutely ZERO weaknesses exist in our cryptographic algorithms. They were invented my man after all... Not the cleverest of species when you think about it  Cheesy

Saying we put together all the computing power in the world.. how long..?  Grin

Seems like within 100 years, even 10, 20, etc. it could be possible with how we keep doubling in computing power every year or so..

I understand we could as a community fix an issue like this, but just curious..  Tongue

Not that long.

Oh also, how many possible addresses can we have?
