Hey guys

For some reason did not receive emails that there were replies.

The problem is 1x unpower riser only can deliver 25 watt.

That is why am going to use a powered usb riser.

Can You please, put video with sound of working rig online (Vimeo, Youtube...)?

There is a video in the first post and the in their channel they use the h81pro more than once without a riser, but I have read more than three threads who have gotten 6 cards on this mobo to work with a powered riser.

H81 must be good board, for me it is clear that 2x additional molex adapters cant feed 6 cards with extra power, you still need 4 powered risers, as far as i see it.

Am not sure, but additional power sources (powered risers) ensures better stability IMO.

I browsed in my local stores and I found one psu that had a good dollar to watt ratio and a was the only one with 80 plus gold. Its a thermaltake toughpower xt 1475Watt. I found another corsair ax1200i platnium but it was 50 dollars more expensive.

So am thinking of buying two (Aaaa... my heart skipped a beat) I really hope I get earn my money back.

Its kind of too late I already bought the motherboard, but I have also read from several forums of people using this board and also using a powered riser. I guess they could have bad quality control in the factory???

asrock h81pro motherboard.

I highly suggest another motherboard.  Look at all the problems if you plan on using un-powered risers.  The motherboard is good price I never did get over 5 to work with it(had 2 motherboards of them sadly).

Emailed them about it asked for compatability, and asked about 6 cards..... they sent back their "lab" was able to get 6 260's to power.   They didn't have 6 280x of any brand to test I believe most they sent was a test with 2 of them.   This motherboard is hype.

On watts I split it sadly between two of these boards and have 3 cards running with 1000 watts powering motherboard, cards, ssd, etc.  Using a Corsair RM1000.

hey guys;

Decided to jump in even though it is a bit late. Am building a 6 card rig with asrock h81pro motherboard.
5 r9 280x (actually 4 3  Roll Eyes but planning to buy another one two) and one HD 7950. Currently have a spare thermaltake 550w 80 silver plus. So how many psu units do i need?

According to the  review sites at full load the 7950 pulls a max of 360watts and the R9 280X had a highest reading of 402 watts from sapphire toxic at this site: http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/AMD-Radeon-R9-280X-Roundup-ASUS-MSI-and-Sapphire/Power-Temperature-and-Noise

Multiplying 400 by 6 gives 2400 watt and 150 watt for cpu, stock cpu cooler ram and ssd. so 2600WATTS :O

Update: Saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfqfEpanpig&list=UUVVWXoQfMfQVuzxcLylq9aA&feature=c4-overview but it seems abit of an overkill.
