It seems pretty boss from all the reviews. How would mining for extended periods of time effect this GPU? Would it wear and tear on it?

Thanks.

I run mine at 1000MHz, 625 MHz memory, 0.962V for low power consumption. I use 2 of them, on a 650W Thermaltake PSU, whole computer power consumption is 350W at the plug. 500 MHs per card. You could go to 1150MHz, with 1.2V, but your consumption and temperatures will skyrocket. I am a more of a play-it-safe guy.

BTW if you get a model with FZ1 bios, which is pretty common these days and is crap, flash it with F2 so that you can adjust voltage

620 khash on LTC
600 mhash on BTC

1150/600 @ 1.18v BTC

1050/1500 @ 1.08v LTC

I run 3 of these cards.. they are solid. just make sure you have good airflow if you are running them that hard...

i own two, have had them mining ltc for 4 months without a hiccup.  get 580kh/s each on ltc, 1.037v, 1000mhz core, 1350mhz mem.  be warned they have no vrm cooling, so make sure they aren't over 90C in gpu-z.  otherwise they are great cards and run very cool (mid or low 70s at 22C ambient)

7950s are pretty much the best ltc cards

Water cooling is worth having a look at.

It's not terribly expensive if you set it up yourself, but you have to keep an eye on the pumps. If they start grinding, replace them.

I've run my two Radeon 7970's at 100% load overclocked for up to two months straight without a single crash using a push-pull pump configuration keeping a constant flow of coolant over the GPU's.

Expect about 420 MH/s at it's stock speeds.  My MSI Twin Frozr 7950 OC'd to 1100/300 does 577 MH/s.  You will most likely wear out the fans before anything else begins to go out.  The key is to set an appropriate fan speed curve and try to undervolt.  The cooler on my 7950 was horrible at those OC'd speeds, so I went ahead and installed an Antec Kühler H2O 920.  Max GPU temp is about 48°C.
