I actually tried out cash app today buying $100 USD and then transferred it to ShorelineCrypto exchange for a trade. It was decent experience.

Yes, Cash App fee of $1.77 USD for 100 USD perchase is quite high price. However, there seems to be no fee on withdrawal.
$100 USD value was transferred to exchange with fee of $1.77 USD at purchase. Not cheap to speak of, but reasonable. Bitcoin transfer fees are high for small amount USD. Cash App may not be good for large dollar bitcoin trading/transferring, but good for small USD dollar bitcoin handling.

I see this application convenient only to send money between friends and family. But nowadays we can already send money with SMS. I don't see it replying to a demand. When it comes to using e-commerce I prefer to stick with Paypal, with the buyer protection (funny I'm talking about this, my Paypal account is near 15 years old and today I've to open my first chargeback for ~1000€)

Actually, CashApp has been one of the top financial applications in the US App/PlayStore for quite a long period of time now. In other words, plenty of people know about it.

I wish they were offering their services within my country, but unfortunately they don't. I read somewhere that they were planning to roll out their service within Europe, but that can take a long time if it isn't their main priority and their licenses haven't been granted yet. I like to side with businesses that are building on top of the right coin and have the right intentions.

Not sure when Lightning will be integrated into CashApp, but it will happen eventually, which makes their platform even more user friendly, and provides new people a much better user experience, especially when they plan to buy their first satoshis during a fomo stage with high network congestion.

No, the fees are too high. Buys/sells generally cost 1.75%.

They are a competitor for buy/sell services like Coinbase, not exchanges. I've already been using GDAX (now Coinbase Pro) for years to avoid Coinbase's high fees, so Cash App isn't attractive to me.

I do know regular (non-Bitcoin) people that use it as an alternative to Paypal and Venmo, though. One of them even decided to buy a little bitcoin just because the option was there in the app.

Adding orders to buy and sell will be beneficial, but I think they failed in marketing the application "despite being new" in addition to a lot of regulatory restrictions (link bank account, photo id, bank card, ...etc) in order to invest a small amount.

If this is supported in my country then I'd use it asap. Not sure what's the problem is but probably resources issue. Not only that, most services that I use only support Paypal, so that's that.

Anyway going back to Cash App, I'm thinking of making the switch and see what the new this app could offer. I liked how Paypal solves most of my spending and receiving needs but there are cases in which delays (stupidly long ones) are imposed and the merchant and Paypal couldn't resolve.

Square Inc. has been liking crypto for quite some time now due to Jack Dorsey being the head of the firm, and is the only one in the Fintech space openly doing some projects and improvements on the market while staying true to what the ethos of cryptos are. Should the rumors be true about bitcoin P2P gifting, this may raise the curiosity of current unknowing users about bitcoin and spark yet another jump on the pricing.

I'm seriously thinking about making the switch sooner, if not for my employers not liking the idea of shying away from Paypal.
