Bitcoin is not very popular in India. Yeah nowadays people started hearing about it . When i tell to anyone about digital currency they start laughing. They cant believe something like digital currency is there. I am not speaking about ladies alone. I am telling in general. I know some are using bitcoins but its not that popular. When i try to explain about it to anyone specially ladies , the first advice they give me this- Please dont fall in any scam sites. There are lot of scams out there in net ,please dont listen all those. This is what everybody or most ladies say when I tell about bitcoin to them. Because all ladies are having savings oriented mindset and they dont believe anything easily without any solid proof.

OP, please don't think that women are not into bitcoins and don't take them as underdeveloped or non-techy because I don't know about many, but I have a group of girls, I mean they are my friends who use bitcoins for their daily use and even trade this. They once did a joke by saying that there will come a time they will start ordering their groceries too using bitcoins, but I said that their wish will soon come true.
Which city you are located at,honestly saying dude i havent seen any girl till now who talk about bitcoin or cryptocurrency.i know there are many women which are expert in crypto field and are working in well known company but if we take in general then india lacks far behind.

I won't disclose where am I located at currently, but yeah, I do know that they are very rich in exploring and learning new things.
They are all studying computer science and so, using bitcoins is general among all of us (I mean the group), won't say they are experts but they definitely take part in any bitcoin related events that occur in our country.

Based on the data available with Unocoin, the highest % women is seen at Bangalore Hyderabad and Mumbai.

The IT hubs as expected..

I am not at all disappointed in seeing less woman in tech as I am not at all disappointed in seeing less men in sociology, anthropology and teaching.

There are few women are involved with btc directly so obviously the interest would arise in them. But as overall its not much and I think this case would be valid internationally as due to understanding or their own reasons.

I'm sure there are many who do so. There could be women working in Bitcoin startups as well who're using Bitcoins, like for example Chitral Patel is a Growth Officer at ZebPay and I'm sure she's a Bitcoin enthusiast like her profile portrays from her Quora response here: https://www.quora.com/Why-is-there-a-vast-difference-in-BUY-and-SELL-price-of-Bitcoins-in-India

It would be nice to heard from a Woman Bitcoin enthusiast about their experiences using Bitcoins in India and how they'd make use of it in their daily lives. I'm sure a lot of movie tickets can be purchased using it and women can easily book tickets on the ZebPay application.

There is no survey done yet but if we take awarness of btc among women in idea apart from women directly connected to digital society.it is very low as they generally focus on domestic living.and very less women are in digital sectors.

My friend is using.

With the ease provided by Internet Bankin and the technology openin the doors to many opportunities I believ its just th matter of awareness. Provide th info to people and they are ready to explore. I worked in corporate and there men and women all are equal. In fact the head of my department was a women. So its just th matter of awareness. If we can provide them the scope, they are ready and willin to try new things.

more than 70% indian woman's(girls, lady, woman) are very undeveloped compare to other foreigners woman.
now question is that how many woman are using bitcoin in india and can they drive bitcoin to top peak?
because indian ladies often ignore technical things like bitcoin so whats your opinion on this...? Grin
ya u are right at this point , as in india female were not giving proper privilege from early time.so they are not having a contact with digital world and also i dont think more 20 % female in india know about btc or alt coins.
And out of 20% also they do not take part in it.

You are lucky to have lots of female friends and as you said surprisingly all of them uses bitcoin. But we are looking for some reliable statistics with supporting proof.

Where the hell did I tell you that all of my female friends are using bitcoins? There is a big difference in alot and all. Gosh.

You gonna tell me what is that reliable statistics with supporting proofs you're looking for or just gonna rant the same word forever for few cents on your signature campaign?

Yes.I mean the data from exchanges and merchants are more reliable than individuals experiences.I am sorry I dont mean to offend you but anyone can make false claims

Being a Sr.Member you sure you aren't aware that on this board you get only individual experiences? and that's what this board is for. When the OP is asking something, he's asking for individual opinions and experiences. Not the data from exchanges or merchants.

If you don't believe in individual experiences, it's not our fault right? If you don't know how discussion boards work, then you're on the wrong place mate, you supposed to check for those on exchangers and merchants and stay aware from this board instead of reading individual experiences and complaining about it. I don't understand why you're here then. Gosh! lol Grin
I know we are here to share our experiences and opinions but if we share or quote some authentic data to prove our point, that would be much better instead of ranting our own stories which can be cooked up

Yeah, that's what I'm asking you. What do you mean when you kept on ranting the same about authentic data and reliable statistics?

Make it clear or spam your signature campaign elsewhere. Stop ranting and stay away from this topic if you have no experience to share and let us others share their opinion.

As I said earlier, this is a discussion board. You share your experiences here, you don't keep a data of it and show proofs of everything.

And for your information, I'm still in touch with those women who I was referring to. So you can still let me know what you're ranting about.

whats your meaning bro?please describe it.

Ecommerce related, household items, constructions and stuff like that.

As in for products or services as if they are merchants ?

Yep! That's right.
And how do you know the seller is a female? do you also call them like unocoin to verify their gender Smiley

If you've cared to read a few previous posts, you'd find my other post where I said there are alot of women using it and in my case, I know alot who're doing business with BTC.

So, the people I'm talking about the people who're on my FB. They're my friends since years. Not those who put supermodels pictures to promote shit, they're real. -_-

I'm not aware of any Indian women using bitcoin. However, I think it would be actually really beneficial to society if they actually started to.

For example, if they need to send money overseas, then they could use bitcoin as an alternative to old banking methods like Western Union or Wire Transfer.

A lot of Indian males are already using bitcoin... So why not women? Tongue
You should read dashingriddler post again. According to unocoin statistics,20% of their users are women, remember this is the stats of just one exchange.

Yeah - as a part of verification, we call them over their mobile number. So we know that they are females and not just based on their name.
Do you call each one and verify there gender or what?lol usually companies verify mobile number through sms or automated call and other information through documents. What additional information do you get by hearing the voice besides their gender?
Haha, we call them manually and greet them, ask them a few questions based on the info they have submitted for verification and once confirmed, we welcome them to our reading platform. I said we know the gender not just based on name but also through voice. We of course do not ask if they are a male or a female - so there may be a few +/- though.

they often call and ask our detail to verify like if i submitted my pan card, aadhar card, bank detail;they will call and ask each adhar number, pan number, bank account detail, mobile number, name...etc(as required by exchange).
so while calling they can absolutely find that yonder are male or female.but normally their purpose is not to find the gendar. Grin
But if someone can fake the documents,he can fake the voice too.I mean if I somehow get some girl's documents and I used them on unocoin,I would most probably ask some female friend or family member to answer their call
yes then they can but its not fault of exchange they got all what they need.
if someone have your all documents at least pan card, adhar card, photo, you bank statement they can easily take loan, buy sim card, verify himself on btc exchange behind your name.but how someone will get your documents without your permission? there are two way to have your documents to someone else-

1)he/she stolen your identity without your knowledge-if someone stolen your identity go for police and complain it.

2)you shared your identity to your relative/person's-believe me if you are sharing your all documents with someone you are RUINED person ever in this world

Sure, while performing account verifications at Unocoin, we see about 20% of them are women.
That indeed is very amazing to hear.20% is a good percentage given that bitcoin is still in its early stage in India usage-wise
