Topic: How many of you signature campaign posters sell your coins once you received it? (Read 2628 times)

I actually sell my earning to fiat right after I receive it, needs some extra fiat to purchase things . So the extra bitcoin from sig campaign goes to fiat directly since im not a believer

Shame on you Tongue
Why even bother? Not big income, but relevant if you ARE a believer...

Its better for the market value overall vs selling bitcoins direct and i guess when your spend the coins the place who accept them might keep a certain % in bitcoin.  We need to develop more wages paid in bitcoin + merchant & distributors creating a circular economy.

there is no way a merchant might keep bitcoin, they will trade it to fiat because they will need to restock their goods, and they do need fiat to purchase their necesitty which can be obatin with fiat and not bitcoin

Just like what the title says. Just curious because your actions in part (although not significant) will also determine how many of these coins actually ended up back in the open market? Let's just be honest here because saying and really doing it are two different things. Just want to find out if you are a true advocate or believer in the system because I saw quite a number in the forum who tells about earning through campaigns, hoarding or even buying the coins to help the price, but is it really true? Or you are just there to earn and convert the coins to buy your phone credits and games pass.

For me all my coins are still intact until today

I do not think that amount actually determines the market price. There are only couple hundred of sig campaign users, at best, and the amount we all receive s not sufficient to move the price. No way.

I did mention that clearly in the OP. Like I've said, it's not significant per se but it's more like trying to find out what you guys actually do with the fund. When I read through all the posts it's clear that some of us here sold the coins immediately in order to get quick cash. That won't move the price so much but bear in mind that still means coins getting introduced to the open market.

I don't sell my coins for fiat, I use it as I use all of my bitcoin, whenever I can!

I ordered Pizza again with bitcoin on Sunday, I will be using them in a cafe at the weekend.  The little tops ups are nice, it's like being treated to a meal/coffee once a week.
I pruposely look for the places accepting bitcoin so that I can do this, got to support the community!

I almost never sold my sig earnings because I don't have any need of extra fiat. not that I earn that much, anyway. the most I've earned was 0.13-ish btc

I do buy things with it, however

Same. I don't earn enough and it would be useless to sell such a small amount. I either hold them for if I want to buy some digital goods items or mostly I just gamble with them.

I don't earn much with signature campaigns lately, but I have received a nice amount of 0,x BTC from earlier Primedice signature campaigns.

I have not sold a single Satoshi of them. I stacked a part of these coins, bought some Steam games with another part, traded a small part for altcoins (in order to short-term trade a bit) but lost most of them in an ASIC scam.

That's because you're sticking w/ bitmixer, you can earn ten times more w/ bit-x but I'm not sure if they've got any openings at the moment - tho I could be wrong and you should look into it.
I think most people will be dropped from the bit-x campaign since Marco is working on new campaign stuff to be released in a few weeks. Only the active guys like quickseller and redsn0w will get to stay for the few weeks ( I think)
I see your point but I'm pretty much the most active poster on that situation but Marco hasn't said much to me about any changes. I know he's doin below avatar pics which I'm not interested at this point, simply because my account is way too valuable to me than the extra BTC that is offered for it and I won't scrub my avi for it. Not doing it. If I was entertaining that then I might as well sell this account and any buyers would freakout at the cost at this point. But, I'm always entertaining offers. It's been a long while so that's what you're paying for if that's what you want. The other thing is that I own the Rand thread (which will continue to be notable and a moneymaker via many postings to it that needs to be kept up with more fresh postings during and from Rand's campaign trail = everyday is chock full of free posts if you know where to look and i can give ya the hint for a bonus or in a package, if I were to entertain such a thought) that I keep live so that's up your alley too. Between my posting info and Bit-X,  I am a big dog poster and to get up on my account would mean you'd need to do something similar. Go high, I might take an interest. In the mean time, the posting ops are groovy.

I have earned some BTC7-8 from various signature campaigns in the past 3 years. And I have converted around BTC7 to cash. I am in a very dfficult financial situation right now, else I wouldn't have sold them. My total BTC holdings are around BTC25, and I am thinking about selling at least half of my coins to reduce my bank loans (~$15,000).

The best paying per post signature campaign is DaDice right now if I am not mistaken. So you can theoretically you will earn max 0.13 by posting per week so 52x0.13=0.672BTC per year.

Let me be the one to correct your math:

52 x BTC0.13 = BTC6.76 per year.

But doing calculations like this aren't very accurate long term. In a year, the price can change a lot so im not sure the campaign owners will be nice enough to not lower the BTC payments if price goes too high again.. they should keep it because as of right now it doesn't pay much but yeah.. it is what it is, a small bonus.

Also, this would mean u do not miss a single week and that you post like maniac. No way anyone can keep that pace for a year.

True. Probably no one could keep such 'pace' throughout the entire year.

That being said, the above calculation is for DaDice, Bit-x has no max cap and there are people able to make way over BTC1/month.

Possible price increase is irrelevant, we're talking about current conditions. If the price go up to $1000, the pay-per-post rate would likely decrease, but BTC1 will be over 4x more appealing than currently.

We need a new Willy bot or mass adoption to reach the point when it worth to realize profit Smiley.

it's better not,  would destroy the last small faith that people still have on bitcoin, a steady grow is better, you can spend now bitcoin, don't need to wait for a price to rise, bitcoin was mean to be spent not exchange for fiat
Even though people think this is some of a "rule" I do not agree. If it wasn't for Willy we would have never spiked and would probably still trading at around $100 if not lower.
We wouldn't have so many people coming aboard either.

well the current price is teaching us that the natural raise of the price needs plenty of time, i'm not sure if that without willy, we would still trade at 100 usd, if we would be at current price anyway, we also reached current price in april 2013, this is another proof that willy wasn't needed

I leave it all in crypto, but I invest that amount further because I feel I can afford to lose those coins in a bad scenario. Mainly I put them in cloudmining or altcoins. Still a bit afraid to do constant trading, maybe because still don't feel confident enough about my judgement in alts, but one day I will try it definitely. Better sooner than later Wink

I can draw your avatar!
I do not sell the coins I earn, though the sig campaign or by the cartoons and drawings I sell for BTC

I buy stuff, love the initiatives people set up to earn a coin, even sell legit goods. Better are the numerous real world shops, bars and restaurants where they accept bitcoin. Am planning a visit to Gent this summer, besides a lovely place to visit it has a lot of bitcoin accepting venues.

I hold some, I do trade in some altcoins, just for fun. I never sold for fiat, just for the sake of not wanting to support the fiat directly with my earned coins.

You sell drawings? Can someone commission you to draw something specific or do you have some sort of collection you could show us? I always found the idea of offering your services for Bitcoin highly interesting. I, myself, am still looking for some goods or services I can sell....

I work on commission, mostly black and white cartoon style drawings, digital or handdrawn, but I can do more if the price is right Smiley

Would a poll have been better to get a better idea of hoarders and spenders? Anyway i have yet to spend a coin from signature campaign and hopefully i never need to, it is a nice way to save some free bitcoin for doing what you usually do anyway.

The purpose of this thread is to give sig-wearers an easy opportunity to increase their post count to meet the post quota of their respective signature campaigns. A poll would be detrimental to that objective.

Generally I don't sell them, I am a BTC believer, I tightly hold the coins I earned.

There are some special cases I would sell:

1. I need fiat urgently,
2. I think BTC price will go down, so I may sell high and buy when it is lower, so I can earn btc from trading.  Cheesy
3. good altcoins are dipping, so I buy cheap altcoins, and sell them in higher price to earn bitcoin.
4. Buy something valuable.

Here's the right thread to go. Choose the one that fits you best:

Uhhm, 52 x 0.13 = 6.76 btc. That alone is a pretty good sum if you might ask me, given the fact that you only need to stay active and remain on topic for your posts.

It is a good sum, but only if you're 'natural' poster. If you have to force yourself each day to post and struggle to find any subject you could contribute to, then it's not worth it. But if you were active on the forum anyway, then joining sig campaign would earn you free money.

I'm basically playing with all the BTC I received from signature campaigns, I also convert some every now and then even if the prices are ridiculously low. It helps me to pay some bills, you know. But the majority of my coins remain in a paper wallet, which I hide in a place wherein I'm the only one that can touch it or see it. I'm surprised that most of the users who are enrolled tend to say that they're holding. Grin

I don't sell any. Every time I reach at least 0.25BTC I mix the coins and then send it to one of my cold wallets.

So you're saying that you don't use bitcoins at all? Everything eventually ends in cold wallet?

I use Bitcoin everyday. I have different wallets for spending. Coins earned with sig campaigns will not be spended.

I 'm used to hold about 90% of the received coins and using cca. 10% for some playing on Cryptsy and Bittrex. Cashing out would be quite senseless at the current prices.

I don't sell them, I only use them to buy goods/services. I usually converts fiat to BTC....

I dint know buying and selling bitcoins affects the price as it's trading in bitcoins. I do sell my bitcoins because I don't want to wait till the price reaches $150 or for blockchain to close down forever. I have already had my own bad fortune of saving cash in an online wallet for over 6 months. I don't even keep the shares of companies I buy for more than a month and sell them as soon as the price increases.

I convert my payment into altcoins or I recharged them Cheesy

Recharge? What the hell does that mean? I have no idea why you'd convert them to crapcoins either but each to their own I guess.

I personally use mine for various purchases (trying to improve the merchant acceptance of Bitcoin). Everyone that accepts Bitcoin I use it for - the only problem I have is that in most cases that merchants themselves convert it back to fiat (usually via BitPay/Coinbase) which is rather frustrating. On the plus side, hopefully having a larger user base for Bitcoin convinces them to just keep it one day (although I doubt it'll happen anytime soon).

I don't sell any. Every time I reach at least 0.25BTC I mix the coins and then send it to one of my cold wallets.

So you're saying that you don't use bitcoins at all? Everything eventually ends in cold wallet?

I never sell any of my coin.
The current price is definitely undervalued, I will hold until a good price to sell.

Trust me!
I see the BTC coming in from signature campaigns as some nice extra money on the side - nothing more. I tend to save them actually, you know... A little extra money maybe being worth a fortune when it's time for retirement Wink

Terminated.
Well I don't sell coins but I do use some of them. I've bought some stuff in the past via the Bitcoins that I've earned like a Kialara Physical Bitcoin and some other things.
Selling the coins is a bad move if you ask me especially if you factor in the current price. I'd rather invest or buy things using them at some time.

I haven't sold any of my signature BTC earnings, it all goes to my 'fun fund' which I'd use for donations, occasional gambling and small purchases. The latter could be considered a form of selling and probably have negative effect on the price, but I don't see anything wrong with that. Bitcoin is meant to be used not just hoarded.

I saved every little Satoshi I received from my signature campaign, you can check my profile and Bitcoin address.
It goes directly to cold storage as part of my savings, for a brighter future. I will cash out when the price hits anything higher than $2000 per BTC, ANYTHING lower will be hoarded. ^HeH^

I am building on being a ^Ha ha ha^

Until now all the coins I received (and some bitcoin I bought with fiat) ended up in my altcoin wallets.
At this prices I will even buy more bitcoin.

I haven't earned any personally yet but whether someone holds them, sells them, trades them, or buys things with them directly the choice is up to them but they are all helping the bitcoin economy in their own way. Personally I would prefer to hold for a while because I believe the price can exceed its previous high of around 1k eventually.

Would a poll have been better to get a better idea of hoarders and spenders? Anyway i have yet to spend a coin from signature campaign and hopefully i never need to, it is a nice way to save some free bitcoin for doing what you usually do anyway.

I've not sold 1 of my coins since the price was @ $700+, to me they are worth more than $200 or whatever. Every single coin made from signature campaigns and any other BTC trades or promos has been banked for longer term.  Not bothered about the price unless BTC dies, just means i can pick up more Smiley

Same here. I save them unless I have something I really want - such as good domain etc. I am holding Bitcoin because I have confident that Bitcoin price will not stay at ~200 USD.

I'm mostly holding the coins that go to my campaign address, but I do spend from some of my other addresses. Mostly small donations and things like humble bundle games when I like an offer (I'm not a very active gamer.)

No I dont escrow anymore.
All I received in bitcoin as of today was spend in bitcoin. I did some day trading in the past, but thats not my thing apparently.

I dont think the price will be influenced by the relatively small amount the campaign pay out.
