3 - but none were very interested. The first thought it was nutty. The second one quickly found the wikipedia info that quoted some as saying it was a ponzi scheme and it took me a lot of explaining to counter that. The third was more technical and I just told them to check it out for themselves and haven't heard back.

I've introduced probably a dozen people but only a couple have been curious enough to learn about it for themselves. One co-worker of mine compared mining bitcoins to "farming" gold and other virtual goods in WOW and other MMORPG's.

none of the 30+ people wana buy into it...  they just don't believe or understand how it can potentially rid us of the banks...

I didn't realize that was the goal.  I think there is a place for a banking industry as well as alternatives in a healthy economy.

People don't like to be 'sold' on something, and will instinctively turn off to an idea if you are enthusiastically pushing something.   They would probably be more interested if you mention bitcoin briefly in passing and tell them to check it out for themselves.  If someone thinks it was their own idea or they discovered it they are more likely to be enthusiastic about it

I've told a few people and then I end up spending a lot of time answering the same questions that everyone has.

I tell them it's what paypal should have become before they sold out to the bankers. If that piques their interest I then say that if all the cards line up just right bitcoin might compete with, or even surpass visa, mc and amex.

i told a few people about bitcoin, some older then me 30+, some the same age

every time i see them i talk about bitcoin or they ask me about my bitcoins,

and whats cool is that every time theirs only good news about how bitcoin is getting better and easier to use

new bitcoin super stores

new exchange markets (now i can trade CND$ for bitcoin very easily)

none of the 30+ people wana buy into it...  they just don't believe or understand how it can potentially rid us of the banks...

its as if....
they are so scared of change they forget  everything they said about the "Big Bad Banks" and start to defend them!

the younger people, people my age 24ish... seemed more turned on by the idea of a revolutionary way of handing money

we shouldn't target older people, forget them...they love their money...they can no longer imagine life without there huge loans and credit cards

educate the 15years old's, let them know that if they wanted...when they all grow up.... they could help change the world!!!

About 20.  Unfortunately I want to talk about technical details rather than big picture ideas.

I just sold 100+ BTC and paid for some large appliances.  My mother was STUNNED that I could trade bitcoins for dollars.  Yes, apparently I am not stressing that point enough.

None, but I made loads quit. Can't wit to see this fail project burn.

Feel free to donate your coins to me if you find them so useless. Also, you might want to get rid of your donation address if you don't care about bitcoin anymore.

Unless you're just trolling, of course.
