Most exchanges nowadays wash trading are only targeting noobs by having their volume be high enough to occupy a spot in the top 10 exchanges on CMC. They don't even care about their volume looking so obviously fake because noobs blindly register without doing any research, nor do they care to do research.

that is of course a big problem. and unfortunately no exception but the rule. if you look at the volume often falls on the first look at what is going on there.
it is not prevented and CMC does not really think about it either. it is partially tried to get the real volume out but in the end you can not believe it all Lips sealed

Can I ask, what is the purpose of counting the number of trades daily? You cannot precisely count the exact trades per day because some exchanges are mostly faking trades using hundreds of bots even if you use some tools to count you cannot totally determine what is fake or real trade.

That's a great question! I think one of the problems is this data has not been readily available. As a result, we haven't had enough time to determine all of the ways this data is useful. I imagine there are people out there who have specific times they would need to know how many trades were executed over a certain period of time. Although I'm not one of those people, I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

Yes, I agree the results can be skewed by wash trading. However, I think knowing the number of trades that are executed is also a good way to determine the amount of wash trading being done on a given exchange. Pairing this with trading volume and other stats, I'm sure it would be possible to estimate the volume of wash trading. However, I haven't given it enough thought at this time to know for certain.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

is it important to know that kind of thing, I do not really care about the number of transactions that are processed in trade, the most important thing for me is the reputation of the exchange, whether it can track fake volumes, as we know today there are many exchanges with fake volumes.

An exchange, regardless of how reputable or regulated it is, can't guarantee that there isn't wash trading happening, mainly so when the people trading on these exchanges are more refined when it comes to obfuscating the wash trading they participate in. If it happens on the stock market, chances are there that it happens here as well because there are fewer rules to abide by.  Tongue
