I agree with you, either BTC pump or dump but the Impact will occur in alts for sure, there has been speculation that Bitcoin and altcoin have an inverse relationship. Since most of the altcoins do not pair with fait currencies BTC is the next option for them, when BTC starts to fall immediately traders want to sell other coins. So this is how it impacts the alt market down this is my opinion.

Why are you blaming Bitcoin in general when the market is looking perfect for almost all coins. Look at ETH, BNB, BAT, LTC and even NEO they all are doing great and after a long time the market seems positive. Yes, when Bitcoin goes up Alts do hoped but Bitcoin has not gone up considerably and is still trading sideways. The market is currently stable.

I think this is not the behavior of new investors who make the price of bitcoin crash but rather the current trend conditions and only a little manipulation and it doesn't stand out at all.
In my portfolio I always keep bitcoin and altcoin which in my opinion do not forget we must know and be wise in drawing conclusions when selling or buying, do not rush to eat news or predictions from the experts because that is not necessarily the truth.
I have to know what I'm doing at a time like this.

Certain drop will not occur easily so if you will monitor your portfolio closely, losing some big amount of money is avoidable especially if the market will make a sign of a long drop then it is the time that you should sell your portfolio. Don't hold it just because you are losing some amount, be practical it's better to loss 100 usd rather than 1000 usd. It's the situation that you need to be aware of if you are an investor you need to be very flexible in your decision, there are manipulations and they are uncontrol scenario but knowing when to sell and to buy back again is one that we need to learn to learn if you want to stay profitable in this industry, experience will teach us how.

The upward and downward movement of the price of Bitcoin can be very helpful, depending on how much you utilize it. It is not meant to cause any damage to altcoins, except in a case where investors and tradings are mostly accumulating Bitcoin.

This is unfortunately a pretty cyclical thing that we've seen in both of the major bull runs that I can remember, and it's probably going to happen for as long as cryptocurrencies are still relevant as people naturally turn away from Bitcoin once they see its high price despite the fact that you can buy just part of a Bitcoin. It's certainly somewhat damaging to the reputation of cryptocurrencies as a whole when these alts and Bitcoin inevitably decline after such a bull run, but there's always people that are reeled back into Bitcoin and alts once they start going up again.

Firstly you should know that cryptocurrency is a new market and is highly volatile. As we can't abruptly change it, we should accept it.
And the volatility has been lower in last two years thanks to bitcoin which has a huge marketcap and acts as a buffer for rapid changes in price of coins.
If it were just the alts, I bet the market would have been much more volatile than this as they would require much smaller capital to manipulate.

That doesn't even match with the fact that it already happened. The correction of bitcoin does a big impact to the whole of altcoin but i just wanna try to remind you if your claim is false as when bitcoin gets increase and altcoin will be following the bitcoin too. How much damage will have done by altcoin can't be determined as that depends on the market that was the main factor to determine the price of altcoin.
Some people said the altcoin will get a big impact by the bitcoin movement and that's true but the main point should be the development progress of the project.
Look at some coins that were getting a very huge increase caused by that. This claim is no 100% true and you should think again about that.

This is something you can not prevent. People hold altcoins to make profit. They main goal is "profit" not building a portfolio. When they see the price of bitcoin rising, they don't want to lose the opportunity of investing on bitcoin and make some quick profit. Thus they end up selling their altcoin and jumps into bitcoin investmnet causing the price of altcoins to drop, while the price of bitcoin starts to rise. You can not expect the price to keep increasing constantly or both Bitcoin and altcoin keep making a rise without retracing.
Not to mention we have limited fresh money coming in into our market, without fresh money we can not increase the price and even sustain it.
Try to learn something called market economy, it is a simple basic talking about the influence of the demand, the flow of money to the market.
This is an unreasonable demand in the first place.

Depends on the movements quickness really. Lets say bitcoin suddenly goes from 10k to 15k, altcoins will definitely get damaged because at that point there isn't any money coming into altcoins and that means bitcoins price going up would result with altcoins price (in bitcoin terms) going down (even if staying same or even maybe going up in dollar terms). However if it takes time like it has in the past 2 months, that means there is a chance some of that money going into bitcoin as well, thats why bitcoin doesn't really matter in price but more about time period. Altcoins are seen by people as "hail mary" most of the time because not many people believe the value of it but they know it could make x5 in a day and thats what they are counting on.

My portfolio isn't being damaged if ever bitcoin moves so quick. I have most of my stash in bitcoin and held also some decent altcoins so it's up to you how you will balance your portfolio. If you are dealt mostly in altcoins, you'll complain whenever bitcoin moves and that's the reason why you need to become smarter and wiser when you will choose the altcoins that you want to keep. And as you can see, this is a party and it's not only bitcoin that's pumping but it's everything.

Your claim doesn't make any sense mate, its investors decision to buy and sell, you are the one to determine when to buy or sell and look at the present value of many altcoins, they keep surging, many expected this in 2019 and it never happened, those who can't endure sold their coins and move on, without patience in crypto space you ain't getting anything
