Simple question, simple answer.

Just check the network status under this link:
https://ethgasstation.info/

It has "Recommended Gas Prices" section. You should check it every time before making any transaction (especially right now).

For instance right now recommended Gas Price is 50. With such Gas Price your transaction should be confirmed in 3.3 minutes.

Hello Guys, can someone tell me, how much Gas I would need to set for the moment to ensure a transaction is going through? With Crypto Kitties the world has obviously changed and I do not want to have my etherum transaction stuck. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
The important thing for you to not put high amount of the gas price. because that will not give any priority for your transaction. But you must try to increase the gwei amount and that puts your transaction in the very high priority because you pay more on the transaction fees. Remember it right now.

I think now you should set not less than 60-80 GWEI to make sure your ETH transaction will not stuck for several days
