it's curious to see the total consumption of the bitcoin network with the one with the gpu network

right now an antmienr s9 consume 1400watt, and the total bitcoin network around 500MW

instead gpu ahve around 1.5M unit deployed mining, each one around 150watt we can say, so 225MW

we have around 1/2 of the consumption for the gpu world

Please teach yourself about Bitcoin before making threads like this. Firstly you don't even know the value of a Bitcoin I mean come on.
Then you add your PC specs. Do you think your HDD make a difference ? 1 btc a day won't make a difference ? Lol. Go back to sleep.

You can't mind with a PC. You wasting money on electricity for nothing. How much have you actually mined or I bet haven't started yet ?

Hi everyone,

My main worry with bitcoin is the power consumption, running my system on full load 24/7 will make it very expensive, and also receiving maybe a BTC a day won't really help I'm guessing.

My system is:

- AMD Phenom II 940 (Underclocked to 0.75v with AMD Cool N Quiet)
- ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe Motherboard
- Sapphire 5850 1GB (Flashed to Asus Bios, 900/1000 @ 1.137v @ 332 Mhash/s)
- 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066
- 750GB Hitachi 7200rpm, 32mb cache, 640GB WD Caviar Black 7200rpm, 32mb cache
- HTC Omega Striker 7.1 Sound card
- Fan Controller
- Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 850w PSU
- Antec 1200 Case

Running this system by itself on full load in my guess would consume a lot of power, what would the average power consumption be.

Do you want to mine bitcoins with that rig? You will never mine 1 BTC per day with CPU/GPU's. I would suggest that you try your hand at some

Alt coin like Ethereum and see if you can do a bit better with that. GPU/CPU mining for Bitcoin is not possible anymore. We mine bitcoins with

special ASIC chips now.  Wink You can still run a full node with that.  Grin

OK so if you're saying I will probably be using 7.2 KWh/day and the energy data for the UK according to the wiki link is € 0.0436 how much would power consumption be a day?

If that is the correct price per KWh (and I have no idea whether it is), then its 7.2 times 0.0436 = € 0.31392 per day.  This is approximate because the 300W power usage was a rough estimate.

OK so you're stating it could be close to £0.40 (GBP) a day of power usage, it doesn't seem so bad.

im also wondering im using a intel i7  desktop, 32gb ram, corsair tx850 psu  (Ultra-quiet 120mm (140mm on TX850W) double ball-bearing fan delivers excellent airflow
80%+ energy efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% load condition for less heat generation and lower energy bill
99% Active Power Factor Correction provides clean and reliable power to your system)

now i run this unit 24 hours a day , day and night and bill comes to ab out 400  every quarter and thatd with all other devices and evrything else
now i currently have slushpool running on my laptop which is probably cheaper to mine with  , but wondering if i start to run slush pool on the other machine (above if it would make any difference to running costs)

Off the top of my head I'm going estimate you're somewhere in the range of 275-300W.

That's going to be somewhere around 300W, so 7.2 KWh/day.  Plug in your electricity cost and go from there.  If you want a better idea how much power you are using you can either buy a kill-a-watt or you can turn the system on and off while comparing your electric meter power reading without changing anything else on the same meter (tricky to do since appliances can cycle, etc.)
