How much in percentage of your total bitcoin do you allot or invest to trade? Is it like 50% hold and 50% invest in tradings or how do you go about it?
Is it wise to invest all your 100% bitcoin in trading if you feel it is the right opportunity?

I think 50% for trading investment and 50% to hold a good idea,
even though we have a good chance in trading but I think it is not right if all the assets we have entered into trading investment, because to anticipate if trading activity loss.

Even you feel the right opportunity dont really let your emotions do push you to go 100% and its always self to save some incase and unexpected things to happen since we do all know that all things doesnt have an assurance that it would go as we planned. Only spend on the amount you can afford to lose and making partitions or diversification is always advisable no matter how potential does a coin have.

I do about 50/50 trading and holding. Some of the holdings I lend to make a little extra. It just depends on your strategy and whether you are looking for long term or short term profits.

Well you should only risk as much you can afford to lose really. Higher capital always comes with higher profits but you can lose a bigger chunk as well. If you feel comfortable and are able to afford the loss, go all in. If not don't.

i think i use only 40%-45% from the total of bitcoin i have because for me its better to use small percentage to trading altcoin-bitcoin so i still have most bitcoin in my account. beside that, if the bitcoin price is getting increase, i can sell it to make profit in fiat amount so i can buy bitcoin again if the price is getting down like yesterday. i think its not wise to invest all of our bitcoin to trading because we still need bitcoin in our account for another urgent that we could have in future. or we can buy back if the coins is suddenly gets down too deep.

Well I always I would say about 30% investment in trading and 70 percent to hold,
Since I am getting some alt coin in doing some campaigns like signature and social media campaigns.

So I trade altcoins daily I'm "gambling" less then 5% of my crypto and hope to reduce that.

The game of trading and gambling is the same but when you have absolutely no proper / authenticate method to earn from the gambling, the other one i.e - trading gives more opportunities to earn profits through scientific research and proper entry/exit points. I used to spend my funds on gambling when I was new to cryptocurrencies but then I somehow reduced it to 0 and today I either spend 20% / 30% in trading and rest in investing or allocate the whole portion to investing.

I only invest 2% of my whole BTC BR at first and then if the price drops 50% ( of what I bought ) then I will buy the same amount of coins again and sell when I get atleast 25% profit on whole.
For ex:
Buy 1000 units at 100 sats
Buy 1000 units if price drops to 50 sats
Average is 75 now and I will sell all 2000 units when the price reaches 85 .

I'm doing the same thing too. I always don't go all in so that if the coin I just bought will dump I still have more btc to buy again. I think averaging is the best and safest strategy in trading.

I think there are two good rules of thumb to go for:

1- Only what you can afford to loose when trading in high riske, high volatility assets.
2- About 10% of you investments should be on high risk high volatility aasets.

Then after you decide the amount you should diversify. From my experience sometimes i go all in some asset or coin and if it comes down you are more pressure to sell in a loss if you want to keep trading. so i would diversify for sure so if im bagholding something i just keep it and keep trading with the rest so i dont trade ina  loss to many times

There's no specific amount to be able to trade. Just trade that you can afford to lose as also. It's just like gambling but trading is much more profitbale than gambling. But in trading if you have big capital then you will have big profit results. Also big lose if yoy spot a wrong trade.

No, I usually not going to used all of my fund to do trading, I keep small portion to invest, if I am very sure then I will put 75% to trade, because trading is a speculation so not everything can works as we predicted, so better take precaution to lower the risk of losing all of the money

Well what you said is right that in trading its not a guarantee of returns but yes chances are better to make profits. Also on other hand it will depend upon what amount you start with trading is it 100, 500, 1000$ etc. Accordingly risk proportion increases or decreases.

There is never a gurantee in trading. uncertainty is a natural part of trading. Trading wouldnt even exist without uncertainty because uncertainty is what provides us with profit opportunities. For me putting more than 50% of my capital to use for speculation is too risky. I generally have 75% invested for the long run and the rest I use to speculate.

Well there are people whonwould prefer to be safe and then there are those that go yolo for short term profits. I agree with you about having more btc for keeping and using jusr a quarter for trades though i'll be less conservative than you as 50/50 would already be a decent percentage for me when it comes to what to do with. And none for gambling definitely.

It is very difficult to make any forecasts in any given activity. For each user there is an individual approach. Like trading and investing in other words, one can say that someone can well cope with one task that is too much for another, so if there is knowledge in the trade, then it is not necessary to undertake investment.

I will trade with my 100% of the Bitcoin , but still I will reduce the amount of the Bitcoin for the trading , if I will get another real investment options in the practical , because offline business are long lasting then online .
Since we have much trust with the Bitcoin so I will use my whole money for the trading , Currently my total investment in the Bitcoin trading is about 1.3+BTC , that is much amount of the Bitcoin according to my level of the richness .
But currently in these days I am withdrawing my Bitcoin because of the pending descion of the legal , regulate , observe as earlier .
So I have much faster that what will happen if it declared to it is illegal and they can it .

For me, I will only trade money that I can afford to lose. Trading is risky specially for newbie like me, but since I want this "job" i started doing it. But I only trade small so that risk is also small as well and I only put money that I can afford to lose so that I will not get disappointed or get frustrated if I lose my money.

Make sure that you are putting your investment portfolio in more than one basket so as to spread the risks involved. And do not invest the money that are not intended for investment not unless you are a risk-taker already bordering on gambling...well there are people who are that way and still came out winners but this approach is not for everybody. Always know what you are into so that you are getting familiar with the thing you are investing in...knowledge is power as they say. And always pray for good luck.
yes that is too much important we do not have to invest all our assets in one place, as it is too much risky we need to distribute our assets in different places so that to reduce the risk of losing money in one place. i think the most important s that we should invest our money in such place from where there are more chances to make money, for example investment in potential alt coin is more profitable.

I agree, don't invest on something you are not ready to take risk of. And before investing you should do a lot of research and learn about trading and the coins you are investing on.

Honestly I am currently dividing investment between real world and also bitcoin trading. I leave about 30% for bitcoin investment. 30% to open a business in the real world and the remaining 40% I use as a reserve fund when things happen. A reserve fund is also needed when we can not get profit in both the real world and the trading world. I would feel comfortable doing so.

I like your strategy and I am doing this also. I slowly also having an investment outside the crypto world but as of now, its only small percentage something like 25%. Majority of my funds are in bitcoin and altcoin because I feel btc and alts are more promising in the coming years.

Best strategy is to keep atleast 30% in bitcoin and invest remaining 70% in multiple altcoins for both long term and short term holding. Use those 30% of bitcoin to buy more alts during bloodbath on alts like we have few days ago. So I am 100% in alts right now because I have used my bitcoins to buy some cheap alts and already in some profit.   Grin

The percentage doesn't really matter. What really matters is that you should invest a solid capital (say 200$) which amount should produce a steady profit, eventually helping you ROI above 100% and earn some green.

I never put my whole capital in any single investment/trading option. I used to put all the eggs in one basket when I started trading and I still remember that how I kept losing the capital instead of making the profits. Now, I usually go with maximum 15% of the whole capital if I think any option is good for the investment. I am a moderate risk taker so I prefer to end up at a break even point instead of dealing with a loss.

Depending on people preference on how much percentage overall on his bitcoin holding would he decide to use it up on trading. We do all know we do have different amounts of bitcoin on our wallet and definitely people would tell different percentage depending on the amount on their wallets. Going 100% on trading is also good but be sure enough and do accept the risk on doing trading and as long you are profitable then i think it should be fine.

Their is no exact balance where i am going to trade on since I randomly putting some money on exchanger if i see some coins who are good to trade on and staking is just unnatural for me since im quitely a short trader person and yet earning good with this matter, But this quite days are i merely holding some little amounts of BTC since im also monitoring and speculating for bitcoins good growth and i would surely sell my hodl if i see some right oppurtunities to sell it.

For me not a good idea to invest them all if you really want to make both profit from trading in just saving your bitcoin you should 50% percent or i think 40% of your bitcoin is good into trading.. but if you are just newbie better to start first in small amount before you go in high invest so that you know how trading works. since many altcoin right now are increasing i think not a good idea to buy right now with altcoin but you must check the coinmarketcap and check the top 20 altcoin if what are the altcoin are already been drop so that you can buy it for low or cheap price and sell them soon after the price is increase and made you profit..

in my opinion you must put 50% from your whole btc as capital on trading, invest it on some coin then when you got some profit withdraw it as much as your first capital then you can trading with your profit. It will less your loss in trading Smiley
That's a good plan to generate an capital amount for investment I to trading. But the real risk is that if we didn't get the desired profit or our prediction went in the opposite manner what can be done. So make a trial with small amount and increase the capital to increase the profitability so to invest into other altcoins trading.

100% bitcoin investment is not a good idea.if you invest 100% of bitcoin then when price will decrease at 50% low of buying price.then there is no way against selling your coin because there is no have bitcoin in your account for recover your loss.so i think if you have huge amount of bitcoin you should invest atlest 20% or less.so that if you loss money you can recover again buying that coin.

100% is not a bad idea. try to buy some top 20 coins and hold it for a long period. Maybe 1 month and if you are a patient one, hold it for 1 year

Investing 100% on trading would bad idea. You could have buy the ETH and litecoin now and put it hold for some years first. Then start your bitcoin trading with the 60% of your fund and hold the balance for your backup. Start your trade with the proper escrow to avoid scamming and initiate you trade volume as price moves in the index.

I keep it liquid investment. That is whenever I want to trade I will put into trade platform via my bank and will not exaggerate the amount Im investing. I always think of my savings, my needs first and then the rest which I can spend on shit stuff I take into trade platform and grow it into something valuable. Its not in percentage but its int he form of which I don't really need to spend on monthly basis. That is very important to calculate because there is thing called as bankrupt which I don't want in my life.

As you said it depends on the opportunity I think. For me, I always try to keep %25 of my money at bitcoin, I also daily trade and keep some money for long term investment to an altcoin. But if the investment opportunity is good and has big profit potential I can invest with all my money, even I can use my bitcoins.

There is no any trading opportunity that guarantees 100% winning and as such, you should protect your capital by not investing more than 10% of your risks capital on a single trade. Professional traders have this at the back of their minds and that is why they account is always in green.
Yes right, trading does not guarantee 100% profit because it has a risk of fluctuation, the price can be down and fall at any time. I agree with you to protect the capital then use only a few. If I only use around 10-20 my capital, the rest I hold for other purposes. So less wise if you invest 100% bitcoin into the trade.

Is it wise to invest all your 100% bitcoin in trading if you feel it is the right opportunity?

it depends on a couple of things in my opinion.
- how much bitcoin do you have. is it small like 0.1BTC or is it big like 1000BTC? for small go all in! if it is big then depending on risk it can be different.

- how much risk you are taking. sometimes, like now it is a bit hard to speculate about the price. it can stay here and fluctuate between two prices or there can be some bad drama news again and w see some dips or it can start flying again.
but sometimes it is easy to predict. like when price was 2600-2700 it was obviously nearing the end of the rise and drop was a sure thing.
or when price went down to $900 after the $1200 ATH, buying was a no brainer.

- this was for bitcoin trading. if you are altcoin trading then things are different since it is a high risk market by nature. and what i do is that i go in with a small percentage most of them time. something like 30%

Since we are talking about investment, you must not disregard the possible loss while on the way and it applies to all kind of investment on real world and online. No matter how sure you are that bitcoin will reached it's unexpected high price, we must consider that we must have some spare funds in case of a price crash. So that while minimizing the loss still we have backup.

If you don't want to waste opportunity and want to buy bitcoins at more quantity, then make it to the point that you have other source/s of income so that you can go with the majority of your bitcoin without worrying that it might affect your real life financial status.

It's good to make trade based on the volume of bitcoin one holds. It's good to diversify in the 25:75 ratio. Because the hard earning made through trading 25% of the bitcoin can be earned in future through holding of 75% of the bitcoin from the total volume available.

How much in percentage of your total bitcoin do you allot or invest to trade? Is it like 50% hold and 50% invest in tradings or how do you go about it?
Is it wise to invest all your 100% bitcoin in trading if you feel it is the right opportunity?

My first two years in bitcoin, I only accumulated, so I did not sell any.  I just kept a budget and kept buying on a periodic basis; therefore, I was 100% in.

Starting in October 2015, I began to trade.

here's my projected allocation BTC versus dollars in my trading fund depending on price.

200-350   97-99.5%
350-450   96-99%
450-550   92-98%
550-650   90-96%
650-850   85-95%

850-1250           84-95%
1250-2000   83-92%
2000-3000   81-91%
3000-5000   60-88%
5000-10000   55-82%
10000-20000   48-78%
20000=30000   45-75%
30000-50000   43-73%

Currently, I am a tiny bit over-allocated in BTC, at about 92% BTC and 8% fiat.  I try to never run out of fiat or BTC... accordingly, i buy on the way down and sell on the way up.

Currently, I attempt to maintain my BTC/dollar allocations by selling 1% of my BTC holdings for every 10% rise in price and then proportionately buying back on dips.

I only use 20% from my btc for my daily trade, 80% for long time period investment. I believe is not wise if invest all btc in trading, but if you use martangle strategy I'm not surprised. Trading can't use only feeling but must through trial and error, impossible to get higher without fall. I believe you know what to do with your money and I hope you'll find the answer with trying your strategy using just 10% from your btc. Have a nice day.

You can go 100% for it if you feel comfortable. But my suggestion is not to go 100% on it. Right now, market is having a massive correction. Bitcoin and altcoins are falling deeper right now. Just wait for it to stabilized. They could fall even more deeper on the following days. So better be careful.

There is no any trading opportunity that guarantees 100% winning and as such, you should protect your capital by not investing more than 10% of your risks capital on a single trade. Professional traders have this at the back of their minds and that is why they account is always in green.
