I need a new phone every couple months. I live a very dangerous and active life, so my phone has to withstand a lot of things including, but not limited to: Shocks (physical, as well as electrical), water, dust, molten iron, sand, boiling oil. Even the sturdy iPhones can't stand those things forever...

Try to broke this one.

Well I would change it every 3-4 years, but somehow it always takes me a year or two after that to actually posses it...
At that you could say it's broken.

Not too regularly. Unless the previous one breaks or is completely unusable,I don't see the point of purchasing a new one every now and then, especially for basic feature users.

I change to a new phone every 2-3 years.

The older my phone is, the better quality it was. My first phone lasted 3 years. I used my current phone for 5 years, switched to another, then that broke after a year. I switched back to this one and have been using it for another 3 years. I hate new phones -- planned obsolescence at work. Wink

I really don't buy that theory. I mean the theory of planned obsolescence. When it comes to printers or other equipment, for example: You used to pay a crap ton for the devices 10 or 20 years ago. The actual amount of money that went into the electronics and intricate stuff was still a lot. Now, the electronics, parts, etc. get cheaper every day. So the quality of the cases goes down (margin is shrinking). That way every part of a device needs to become cheaper. The quality suffers.

I have had my phone for 2 years now. Earlier I changed every two years, however this time I won't change until it gets unusable, and it still works good.

I just wait until the need gets too high. I switch when the old phone becomes too slow because the latest OS or Apps get too demanding. I don't need the latest craze, only a decently working phone!

it depends i usually used a simple phone no camera only coloured phones with a not so big screen my last phone took me 4 years to replace them  Cheesy i only used my phone to text and call because i have my laptop and an ipod so i can used for entretaiment

Same here. Use only the basic features of a phone, so I don't need to upgrade it every year.

yes and they are also cheap and have a long battery which is basically the most important thing for me right now im using nokia 1280 and the battery can last up to 4 days  Cheesy

I replace my old phone about every 8-12 months. Only recently did I realize I could upgrade to a newer old phone for "free" by purchasing the phone through a third-party rather than redirectly since my contract's up and I can re-enlist. No $45 or whatever it is to replace the phone, either.

I've never purchased a newer model of phone since the first one I bought something like three years ago. I just use it to route the data connection and as GPS when I'm driving some place I don't remember the route for, like when it's more than a block away. Grin

i buy used phones 1 or 2 generations behind.. but i'm happy with my galaxy s3, so i'll hold on to that phone for at least 1 more year. the new tech doesn't really bring much improvements, so that's the point?

Same here.  I have an s3 and it suits all my needs except I would like a bigger screen.  So I'll probably end up getting a new Note 5 and gifting my S3 to family.  I should have got the Note II back then...

My latest one got washed in the laundry by mistake. It's currently dumped in crystal cat litter haha. I read online that cat litter made out of silica (διοξείδιο του πυριτίου) could effectively absorb the moisture that was traped in my screen. It seems to be working so far. So yeah, I only change phones every time my older one dies. I'm currently using my previous device that I thankfully didn't get rid off.

but if I want to replace it, I had to wait a lot of money to buy a new mobile phone output with very good spec and my love Smiley

but in today to buy a gadget will never be satisfied, because more and more recent output is more tempting Smiley

Not often really.
Probably 3-4 years in average per phone.
In fact, I change phone just when I have no other choice, because phone is broken Smiley

Pretty much I have the same approach. I only change phone when the old one is broken or it is too old. By old I mean like 5 years+. Other than than I don't use smartphone and I have phone without operating system. I don't understand people who needs to buy every generation of Samsung/iPhone. That is ridiculous in my eyes.
