Suggest you read the documentation for gpg4usb. Very clear and concise, easy read.

Sorry for the dumb question. Just want to be sure you're not confusing PGP (pretty good privacy - a data encryption and decryption computer program) with the general concept of public-key cryptography, widely used in Bitcoin.
