As far as I know , the quality is calculated base on the length on the posts , I don't think that the BOT have some AI or something.
I may agree It's not the best but most of the time , It's pretty good way as most of the spammers out there write short posts.

Quote
pqm (post quality multiplier) determined by ratio of good posts (>75 characters excluding quoted text) to bad posts (<75 characters excluding quotes)
excellent post quality (90%) = 1.05 (+5%)
good (80%) = 1.025 (+2.5%)
fair (70%) = 1.00 (+0%)
poor (50%) = -1.025 (-2.5%)
very poor (<50%) = -1.05 (-5%)

If you want to take a look at the source good and the algorithms on how all this is calculated then you may want to check the Github repo : https://github.com/achow101/BitcointalkAccountPricer

As for the price , people don't really follow it that much but they do use it from time to time.

Don't you just love how they value quantity over quality ? I know 75 characters is not much, I don't even think it is a line but still. Someone who send a short sentence and a link is way more helpful then someone who prattles on talking to themselves or whatever xP

Hello guys, I don't know if this is the perfect board to post to, I have a few questions:
  • How do they measure the quality of the posts?
  • Is this the standard in terms of selling accounts?
  • Do people follow just how much the site says?

i think posts length changes quality, longer posts will have better quality, but of course i can be wrong, maybe others will have better answer
The quality of post rely on how many you post is can become useful for another people, from the content is maybe that is just a short but if it's very useful for another people and there a constructing energy in your post for everyone.

What you are saying about post quality is in this forum, but on the account price estimator post quality works on the length of your post as the guy mentioned above, the bigger comments you post everytime the higher your post quality will be on that price estimator.
Please, read again thet the higher post quality it's not just relly with the post length, sometimes it's can be a long sentences like an essay and and other time just like a some line, but

No AI can measure the constructiveness of a post. I've made posts with just a link which were everything the OP was asking for (for example, a link to a code source) and sometimes the solution to a problem takes several paragraphs to explain.

It might be a good way to provide average values of post word counts, etc but actual usefulness is a bit more difficult to measure.

And since your account's value is largely comprised of your posts' value, you can take this just for reference/entertainment purposes only. Not to discredit the site creators though - it is an excellent idea, and the fact that this thread exists means it's being actively used Smiley

  • How do they measure the quality of the posts?

Well I guess many users based in this site by the potential activity of any member in bitcointalk, quality of the posts are measures by the number of characters, this price estimator is not accurate because sometimes the owner of the account is the last who will decide the price of the account he want to sell, and maybe there are some follows the site says but not all this price estimator will just give you a little hint if how much price you can give to an account.

Very precisely, each the size of the account was indeed a price depending on the quality of the post and the daily activities they do in the forum. If it is so good then the price is very high, the determination of the price of the latter is on the owner, but if the owners give inappropriate price then this is very bad

Even if you try  to follow the price estimators then you would really have a hard time  on selling on your account  because its too high for such account and no one would be interested. If you adjust it regarding  on the post quality maybe  some would be interested and  bought that account. You are right the owner would be the last to decide  on what price should be sold.

lol my account worth was 0.03BTC and I thought ranking is every 2 weeks? but it says 4 weeks from now to become full member.  Shocked
also post quality was 87.20%. Cool

You have got it wrong bro, ranking does not change after every 2 weeks but it changes when you reach the double activity count of your current rank, for example you become jr. member after reaching 30 activity counts and then for reaching member rank you will need 60 activity counts that means the double of your previous rank, that is how it works, so if you are member you will need to reach 120 activity counts to reach full member rank.

Mastsetad is right and that's why I said the account pricer will only give you a hint or predict that so so thing happen in 2 weeks. Inaddition, if the account pricer says you will become Member in 2 weeks and if you don't post on here simultaneously to increase your activity/post count you won't be promote to the Member ranking.

I think you are. I think bots can't identify a quality of the post base on its content. Maybe it is possible if the pricer owner manually checking each post. hahaha. But i think its not gonna happen because they are thousands of account here multiply by the post =sucks. Cheesy

If your selling the account they not follow the price estimator some times they sell it half of the price ,and the price is not accurate its good for just seeing the post quality you want to see and see that the account don't have neg trust. and for me it still helpful, when you want to see where there post belong and how good is the post quality.
This is very useful tool for bitcoin account as checker and pricer.. but dont relay all in the post quality and price its just a estimate.. also they are just reading 75 character to be excelent in there checker.
But its still good checker ever that you can also use the merchant token..
It can be a very good start for future steps and it can be developed, however I checked it now and it did not work and sent invalid token message!

The other day i had an issue as you without those calculator even opening, anyway i hope somone uptade those as its very used atleast for lending service and auction.
Yes, if there is a good model for pricing, lenders and.. can get accounts as collateral, it reduces some risks.

The account pricer is used to give you a hint per all the rank/worth of bitcontalk account not the actual price of selling account etc. And if you go through the website very well it is also state there.

I saw there are many account checker available on the web. but some weeks ago there was only one and that was the bctalkaccountpricer.info  and this is still the number one with it's complete features.
That's right there are a many checker, but i feel curious, does the owner the checker is having a permission to dig up the detailed of the account in this forum or they just making their own calculate?

The sites code is pretty basic and uses the length of your posts to get your post quality. It is not accurate at all because it uses basic code made by someone out of boredom and praying for donations to be made for his cheap and bad price estimator. People really should not consider the price which it shows and it is just for reference as the maker probably does not know hard programming. I use it sometimes because it shows how much do I have untill promotion to the next rank.

its about quality
I highly doubt it that at this point any bot, script or AI can check out quality, integrity, helpfulness and accuracy of post based on mathematics formula.
All that script checks is how long are your post and maybe 1 or 2 factors which can be easy measured with simple numbers.

Anyway I believe that KnightDk is owner, ask him. His profile: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/achow101-290195

Contact the site owner and let's if he will give you the full details. Smiley

Anyways, if one's account got a low post quality in that site, then the post is really terrible. That poster didn't even managed to pass the script standard lol.

Overall, the site is for reference based only and not actually can measure how heavy your account is. Some features of it is really helpful like potential activity checking, posted address, breakdown etc.

Bitcointalk account caculator is not that accurate. Better check it manually to determine the price of the account you want to buy. I think the number of characters entered on the posts is the thing that calculator is counting to determine its price.
Bitcointalk account calculator is good. Its up to you if you can negotiate with the price its created

Checking an account from that estimator is good but don't just buy the account with the price you see from there because it is just an estimate but not the real deserving price of that account, but you should just see the post and activity count, potential activity and the post quality from there and then you should decide how much the account is worth.

Really it's just 75?

I think the most useful feature is checking potential activity. I don't know of any other way to do it.
It's correct the checker just sue you for making a post more than 75 characters and you will get excellent but if less than it, you will get poor, or medium level. but the checker is can't become a standard for giving a rate for the account.
Post quality determined by account estimators using ration of posts bigger then 75words and shorted then 75 words
it can improved by making big posts

It probably has a bot system or something like that which checks the profile by the UID, with that it checks the characters of posts to give you post quality percentage and from that it gives you an estimate of price, but that is not always correct but it is just for guidance.

Most of the traders and lenders check those for give or not the loan to a determined user, even with the account price being hyip on those, it helps a lot, i dont know if pay 0.15for hero still being a fair price, as bitcoin has almost doubled and the script hasnt been changed since the begin, atleast i believe the script need the new bitcoin value to readjust values.
It would need for the website owner to update the  account pricing since his tool is commonly used for seeing or researching for the  account  information which is  very helpful especialy to those who are always  buying an account. Pricer works on some aspects that you really want to know but other seems to unrealistic.

Agree, it really needs to be updated since commonly used by anybody  especially to those who make those collateral of their account or even buying  and selling accounts. It's just an estimated price based mainly on the rank, posts and quality of posts and it gives mainly an estimation as it's hard to predict the exact price and the price it will actually sell for but it's a really usefull tool and it has it's uses for sure.

This is my account pricing: http://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/?token=vk2b4ggi

Hello guys, I don't know if this is the perfect board to post to, I have a few questions:
  • How do they measure the quality of the posts?
  • Is this the standard in terms of selling accounts?
  • Do people follow just how much the site says?
They just measure your post by total character and not by the content in your post.
I can't say it's become standard terms in selling an account because it's just become things to seeing the detailed of your account.
I don't think so because for the price is always relied upon with the seller. but if this question is refers to the price of account.

I think the account pricer works by look your post, constructive or not, how many posts you made, your rank account and from what section that account post, CMIIW.
Correct, specially, the account pricer do all these things perfectly just except post quality. some time it consider high spammers as high quality posters. just because of the posts lenght, and it shows the staked addresses of any accounts and I think this is the most important and great feature of this.

The account pricer is an excellent tool for account research, busting scammers, lending, as well as dealing with accounts..

People that know a thing or two do not think that the pricer is crap..
Ok you are correct there.  But as far as actually being an accurate account pricer...it sucks.  But yes, the info it generates other than the estimate, it can be useful.

I think you can not relay all in that account pricer for me that part that i want to know there is part of you can know the total post and where is majority of his post also you will know exactly what is rank of the account the price is just estimated but i think the real price right for the account was changed due to the price increase .. better to check also what post quality of the account manually.. so that you will know if the account is high quality poster..

You are trying to develop some algorithms for estimating prices of accounts, however it seems that it does not work correctly and prices are not logical although I am not a fan of account selling but I was interested to algorithm.

account pricer works  just for guide only since it shows the information regarding to your account but i dont think the price estimate  is right since its  a little bit way too high for selling such account and also for post quality, they might count only the  characters of each post which gives you high quality post but in thoughts i dont think so.  I just  use the pricers for  checking my potential activity.

  • How do they measure the quality of the posts?
Provably by the number of characters.

Quote
  • Is this the standard in terms of selling accounts?
No. It's just an estimate. The price it gives isn't really accurate.
Quote
  • Do people follow just how much the site says?
No. It's just a guide.

Thanks for the answer. But measuring the quality of post by counting the characters is I think, not "quality".
If so, then this site is crap.

True, this is how the actual buyer perspective as well. Tossing on a bunch of pointless words should not be counted as quality posting.
That is why i guess the prices are just rough estimates, often too high ones also.

Those things are crap.  I highly doubt you'd get 0.039 for your account.  That number was pulled out of some nerd's ass in a basement in India with no windows and mom upstairs cooking with curry.  Take those prices with a mountain of sea salt.

Haha. I like your answer.
Of course not, that's why I questioned it myself. You can even barely buy a full member account here with 0.01 BTC.

The system works by looking at the level of our members, see the quality of our post, and see how we are working to make post.
I think this is not a benchmark. because the most important from an account is how he was able to discuss with a good and proper.
