How do we actually start participating in the crypto world? I already see a good prototype working model but we don't use it almost anywhere.
How many times you actually purchased something with cryptocurrency? Once, twice, never or few times a month?
To participate, you need to own cryptocurrencies. Some people just hold their bitcoins for value storage and wealth creation. But indeed, that value is dependent on a liquid, working economy. Looking at current transaction load, I'd say that demand for using Bitcoin is outpacing its capacity. Lightning or other solutions can't come soon enough. As recently as a couple months ago, I was still buying stuff with BTC a few times a month, but increasingly less so as the price rises.
We need to keep the economy going.
We obviously can't use it while shopping IRL but there must be some use cases.
Consumer usage is not the only use case. We are also looking at business-to-business (large account settlements) and peer-to-peer payments. Personally, I'm more interested in those.
You can get paid in crypto tho, but it's hard to find such opportunities, at most freelance. Anyone know more sites like ethlance.com?
Check out
the Services forum. Depending on your skills, you might be able to earn some coins there. There's one in the altcoin section as well.
I haven't really seen any sites that are worth mentioning. I also wouldn't be surprised if some of the bigger freelancing sites started integrating bitcoin payments. Square did it, Ebay is thinking about it.... why not?
