It is better to understand yourself, depression is just unfinished business/tasks or unsuccessful plans. This is when you planned one thing, but it turned out to be another. Because of this, depression begins. Perhaps you are setting big goals or expecting too much. There are many ways to deal with depression, but it’s better to do self-development.

Smilling alone infront of the mirror is best way for me.While you doing ,that thinking how you solve one by one to realize what is the  first you do,don't forget always there' s still people loving you.Can yoy share to someone your problems,trying to share someone that you trust.Go out with friends,instead stay longer inside your room,go out and breathe free.Think ,twuce what the best way to solve your problems.

To me the most important thing to do inorder to avoid depression is to start with doing what makes you happy. Don't form the habit of always been alone, it allows creepy thoughts, always go out and have fun, make new friends

Exactly... Make yourself happy, engage your self in a productive activity, smile,look for something to distract from you situation or problem.. It's when you sit down to think that depression comes,live as if you're a child, always be happy. I promise you there will be no form of depression

Take good care of yourself. Get enough sleep, eat well, and exercise regularly.
Reach out to family and friends when times get hard.
Get regular medical checkups, and see your provider if you don’t feel right.

If they could simply stop feeding on things that cause them depression, and start feeding on good things alone, they would quickly recover or prevent it.
Just take the depressed to serene natural environment and feed them on just good things for few weeks and watch how quickly they recover. I believe it's important they are fed right by the right people. They need to be fed by the right people who can help them believe/obey the good words and be healed. It would be hard to heal them if they keep rejecting or resisting the truth.

If you are someone who hate evil, Don't feed on bad words, bad information/knowledge, bad foods etc.
Feed on good Words, the Words of the CREATOR, good information/knowledge, good foods, etc. When you start believing, you will grow "shock absorber" and become strong enough to handle any issues. Always feed right to retain the strength of the shock absorber

Avoid the habit of being alone by finding a good community.
Make life simpler by making short and long term plans.
Exercise regularly, at least 3-5 times a week with a duration of about 30 minutes.

Talking with loved ones is also a great way to avoid depression. My wife used to suffer from postpartum depression, i had to talk a lot with her during that period and she recovered better.

I am also against using meds to address depression. At some points in my life, I also experienced being depressed. But what saved me from this situation was to think the reasons why you need to stay alive, is it because of your parents, your kids ( which is actually the best motivating factor)? You need to look for something that will give reason for you to stay afloat in this cruel world. Also, if you are undergoing this lowest point of your life, better detach yourself from all forms of social media. You don't need to read from somebody about their vacation or parties. It will add more depression on you because you will tend to compare your life with others. This is what I learned actually, you need to be selfish and not bother the social media. Even if it means detaching yourself from your friends or family for quite a while. You need your alone time to figure out things for yourself.
Every person will get depression, but that is how they can manage their emotions and solve depression. If we can remember what makes us still survive, we will know how to stop it and not give up because of depression. We need to work hard in any situation and manage the emotion, especially when the emotion becomes bigger and we angry with the conditions, so we do not have to get depression. Maybe what we need to prevent depression is always feel grateful for what we can reach every day because not all people can do what we did.

When I'm depressed, I go racing my car. Sometimes I go go-karting and sometimes I race on empty roads, usually the more difficult the depression, the more miles I drive.

Honestly, I have a deep depression every autumn. Don't wanna talk about the reasons for it. But I can give you some strong advices how to deal with it.Firstly and the best one would be to move somewhere for a few weeks or even a month. More life communication.Try not to be 1 v 1 with your brain almost always that was kill. Alcohol,drugs is the worst thing that you can do in depression. Good luck man , be strong!

She always cry and always feel lonely without any other reasons or whatsoever and I always ask her whats wrong. I just dont think she deserves to have that, nobody does. I just dont thing avoiding it is the answer anymore. Im always there for her every time she is like that. Always listens to every thing she rants about coz I know how she might feel being alone just inside her head. I dont want her being alone anymore.
I had my ex with same situation, she couldn't fulfill all my suggested 4 points mentioned above, it's in my gene to be optimistic all time; when I feel down, each time is due to at least one of my 4 mentioned points that is not fulfilled.

I have a relative that suffered from depression and worst she committed suicide. She left a note saying that she want to end the pain she feels inside and asking for forgiveness to her mom. Her mom is working abroad, she is an only child from a broken family.

We should take depression seriously because it can trigger for someone to take his/her life to end the pain. Its a must that we have someone to talk to on what we have been going through. Make ourselves busy but still has time to relax to relieve stress. Every problem has a solution thus stay positive and enjoy life.

Do something for yourself that you have been putting off for a long time!

For example, cleaning out the apartment, cleaning out clothes, or just simply rearrange furniture and buy/seed a new houseplant.
It is only important that this is done for yourself without extrinsic motivation.
The beginning is difficult, but then you get wind in your sails again.

and of course walking and gossiping with friends

 1. Avoid being alone.
 2. Always be in an entertaining company.
 3. Avoid hard drugs, it doesn't help at all.
 4. Learn to love, take a walk, and do some engagements.

Thanks for the reminder about going to gym or exercising. This will make my body tired and sure to give me good sleep, nice idea.

A little by little, I'm dealing with it and maybe in the next days or weeks or months, I've totally overcome it.

Most importantly thing to do if you are feeling depressed at least for me is to make myself stay active.   
This is going to be harder cause of Covid but as long as you have access to internet there are plenty of ways to keep yourself busy. 
Exercising outside and talking with your friends is a good way to avoid depression.

I have Cat as well , and having Plants since the pandemic starts ,and use to be a Bookworm when i was in my earlydays.

How about adding up talking to your friends and family being open to them might really help you,
You could get the support or comfort that you really need most of the depressed likes to keep it secet and fight alone with it,
That is why some of them fail and results to taking their own life.

I always get lack of sleep and that's the reason why my emotional being isn't well. I feel sometimes not good and thinking that my life isn't that good and I've probably going into the worse of my life.

I thought at first that depression is easy to deal with until I've experienced it and I've felt the hardship of overcoming it, alone. Yeah, alone. I'm good already and I can deal with it on my own through doing things that I like and hopefully, I can get enough sleep which what I really want.
A good sleep is very essential for good mental health. So I think if you sleep properly then your problem will solve mostly. Also you can join gym that's really help you for overcame your depression.

depression generally occurs 'when things don't go the way we expect'...
not everyone is able to accept reality and not everyone is also mentally strong. problems in the household, economy, romance, and children often cause depression. the best way to avoid depression is to be prepared for all the bad things that will happen in the future and have the belief that not everything is going as expected.

From 2020, I am also facing depression problem. So, I decided to overcome the problem. To overcome depression, I follow following points.

  • I have a pet cat. It's funny movement helps to reduce depression.
  • Gardening is one of the best solution
  • Few days ago, I became member of a collectors club. I get books at a cheap rate. It's helps me a lot.
  • Watching movie daily

That's what I am following now.

in this period in which it is preferable to avoid close contacts with other people, i.e. socialize, lockdown, the virus, the risk of depression is really high, we must avoid as much as possible to do things that tire us, that we do not like, for example if we do a boring, repetitive activity we must try to take breaks and do something different that gratifies us

Most people have developed some form of depression since the pandemic started. The restrictions & changes towards life have made most people feel low at times. I’m no psychologist but I’d advise you to try & keep as busy as you legally can, exercise, go outside for a long walk & get fresh air.

Take up a new hobby online, read books. Nothing is going to make people feel 100% during these strange times but there are ways you can make the best of a bad situation.

From 2020, I am also facing depression problem. So, I decided to overcome the problem. To overcome depression, I follow following points.

  • I have a pet cat. It's funny movement helps to reduce depression.
  • Gardening is one of the best solution
  • Few days ago, I became member of a collectors club. I get books at a cheap rate. It's helps me a lot.
  • Watching movie daily

That's what I am following now.
You all methods are very good and helpful because I also use few of them like Gardening and reading books these two helps me a lot in this situation watching movies is not good for me as I feel not good so mostly I try to do something else after these two methods.

Early stages of depressions can be treated by doing regular exercise and meditation but once someone reached that status it is hard for that person to realize what is going inside their head so it is not possible to recover them without any medicine. But medicine can be in any form not just only in the form of pills, since we have different medicine methods which are traditional and modern so with the help of traditional we can treat them without any pills.

These are some rules below to avoid depression:
*getting enough sleep and rest
*learning to say “no” to additional demands
*taking breaks from work
*practicing breathing exercises and meditation
*getting regular exercise
