The ways of marketing your website has being talked a lot! Now I am focusing how to retaining the existing customers. You need to design a decent website to impress the customers. If you sell commons products, pricing the items need to be careful based on the potential buyers, you should know whether they are sensative with the price.

I find it best to first start with the SEO with the words that bst describe your product. If someone googles bitcoin dice then he is likely to visit the first 2-3 links.
Next step would be develope a reputation for the product, because his next step would be to do some research about it which would finally get him to trust the site.
Third is Advertisement, which will get people to see your site, and they might jump directly to step 2 from here.

If it's a product, and it allows you to undercut competitors, that's one way to go Smiley

As a consumer, I'd like to see the following;

  • Reputability - Good reviews left and a decent response from recent clients/buyers
  • Polite and Responsive Customer Service - This should be common knowledge, but I'll say it anyway. Make sure you have a quick and responsive customer service.
  • Lots of different payment methods - Such as PayPal, EFTs/wires and Bitcoin of course. Some major altcoins would suffice as well. Such as Litecoin and XRP.
  • Mobile website up to scratch.

For you to bring in a higher rate of income, look at having affiliate programs and if you offer products , allow drop shipping. This boosts your sales by a mile.

As others have stated, it depends on what it is your are selling, if it is a product Ebay can be a great tool to initially grab the customer and on Ebay you can setup a store which can then link through to your own website, I have received business cards and brochures with discounts within parcels that have been delivered to me from Ebay and I have gone directly to their website instead of Ebay.

If you are offering services and you promote these services using some kind of online advert then SEO can definitely help you in making sure your advert will appear higher up in searches and appear in front of the right people, I know a lot of the online job boards use SEO to make sure that their adverts contain enough keywords and the right type of keywords so when a job seeker searches using these keywords they will come across their job.

Just recently there was a VIRAL coin that uses Twitter to promote a service for a fee, you can find more information on the forums by searching for VIRAL, not sure how successful this is but it is something that might help, I only mention this as I have been following this coin and thought the whole idea was an interesting one.

Do you sell products or services?

If you have a product lots of people start off selling on Ebay and Amazon and use it to drive sales to their own sites. You can include a message with the product offering discounts if they buy direct from you in future.

You can spend a shit ton of money on pay per click but it might be worth looking into recruiting a PR company. They can get you attention in places that ads won't and are often surprisingly cheap.

I do agree with the idea of selling with discounts which can attract lots of potential customers.

I am engaged in online marketing and run my business through the ecommerce websites .what are the tricks that can be useful for me ?

Advertisement and quality of service is your top concern. First one brings you customers, and the second one makes sure they come back! It's as simple as that.
Please not that when you advertise , you need to make sure it gets to targeted audience. That's why most of bitcoin related services are advertising in this forum, since every member is
a potential customer.

cheers
