I am talking about a case for the nano ledger s plus for protection.
Yes, I do know that but what kind of protection [e.g. protection against fire, water, and drop up to a certain degree or something that'd protect it against scratches when you throw it in a drawer or a backpack]?

Half the time, Jerry's comments confuse me but regarding the above product, I'd only use it if I'm going to store it in a drawer [and "Nano Pod" for traveling with a backpack].

But what else you need to spend on besides the 3d printer?  Ink... but what else?
There's no ink in 3D printers [it uses filaments (most common), resin, powder, etc...]. For the latter part, refer to this: Essential tools for every 3D printing professional

It wouldn't make sense to buy a 3d printer to make a case for it because buying the case from overpriced case from ledger is over 40 dollars only.  I wouldn't have any use of a 3d printer.

In that case, my suggestion isn't viable option for you.

Can you show examples of a case that can be created with a 3d printer?  I didn't even know a 3d printer can make a phone case.

Few random example which i found from google search,

I just checked to look at what a 3d printer can make.  But what else you need to spend on besides the 3d printer?  Ink... but what else?

I don't know since i don't own 3d printer.

I did quick google search and found out some people share design/file for Ledger Nano S case which can be created with printer 3D. If you don't mind people know that you own 3D printer and spend several hundred dollars for it, you can create/print your own case at home.

Okay so earphone cases are not that good because it can't stand the pressure.  But would it protect the nano ledger s plus though?
It depends on what kind of protection is needed for the device in question [you might want to mention that first].

I think OP refer to this product https://shop.ledger.com/products/ledger-nano-case/ledger-nano-s-plus-case.

Like okay so this person and this person's address ordered a nano ledger s plus from amazon or a nano ledger s plus case from amazon so that means they most likely own crypto and possibly a lot.  So wouldn't this bother people?
If I were to guess, I'd say not as much as they should be [unfortunately]. For your case, as long as you don't purchase one of those earphone-style cases that were made specifically for hardware wallets, you'll be fine.

Again they sell many of these cases on amazon but the issue is the supplied you buy from would have your name and address even though it ships from Amazon.  Then the amazon worker who puts the case in the box for packaging would know since crypto obviously is well known now.  Like okay so this person and this person's address ordered a nano ledger s plus from amazon or a nano ledger s plus case from amazon so that means they most likely own crypto and possibly a lot.  So wouldn't this bother people?

Yes I know about the ledger hack a while back.  The thing is was there a document that literally showed every person's full name and address as well?  I know the email was revealed but wouldn't that mean if you reaad that document and say you look at the names of people, you could easily find people you know that owns one especially if it shows their full name and address?  Say you know what state they live etc but of course there could be lot of people with the same name.  But if it shows their full name and address, it wouldn't be that hard to look up that person's information online and once you see how old that person is, well you can pretty much know who that person is then?  But of course you have no idea if they bought a ledger wallet just to hold $100 or a lot of money.  Or if they buying one just as a gift to someone etc.  But does that document exist where you can look at everyone's name who bought a ledger or not anymore?  Obviously if you know the name of the youtube crypto people, obviously their name and address will be on the list?

Okay so over 1 million email addresses were leaked but 250,000 addresses were leaked.  Did anyone here find their address or email leaked?  Obviously email isn't as bad as address but that still is bad.

Or buy an earphone case or some small case and use that for the nano ledger s plus?
This is probably the best route, but most of the small earphone cases I've seen can't withstand most external pressures, so if such things matter to you, I'd go with 3D printing the case instead [you can easily find STL file cases online (e.g. BYZANTINE holder) and if you don't have access to a 3D printer, you can modify the file to leave no traces of its intended purpose then simply send the file to a shop that'd handle the printing part for you].

By the way keep in mind Ledger has already been hacked back in 2020 and their database with all their customers informations has been leaked and made publicly available online : more than 1 million email addresses subscribed to ledger newsletter and more than 250K hardware wallet orders with information including email addresses, physical addresses, and phone numbers.

The issue when you buy it at Best Buy physical store is well the cameras show who you are and the cashier would see you are buying a ledger or case.

But if you are paying in cash, the cashier won't know your name.  Now obviously if Best Buy wanted to know who you are, that would be pretty easy as there are cameras.  Thoughts on that?

I don't see how the workers at BestBuy could identify you just from CCTV footage and without the help of law enforcement. You're overthinking it. If you're that paranoid about it, then don't you think you should have the same worries when buying directly from Ledger as well? You would still have the same risk. Ledger employees could know, Shopify or (whatever software Ledger uses for their e-commerce platform) could also know.

Well I mean a best buy employee would know you have crypto if you buy a hardware wallet at the store if they are the cashier.  I mean that person won't know your name if you pay in cash but you still probably wouldn't want anyone to know you own crypto right?  Imagine that person lives near you or the same area as you which is likely if they work there.

When you are buying a nano ledger from ledger, yes ledger knows your name and email address.  The thing here is there are so many people around the world buying these things so unless they do research on a person's name, they can't really know if they have a decent amount of crypto or not.  It could be someone just buying a ledger who has 100 dollars or so.   The other thing is they won't know how that person would look unless they check their facebook or something and do research?  I mean a ledger employee could write down 10 names they packaged the ledger to... but the issue is lot of these people are ordering it internationally.  So if you are from the US...the person who packages your ledger isn't going to look at your address and be familiar with it compared to them shipping it to someone else in the same country as France.  Does that make sense?  So a ledger employee wouldn't really care about someone from say US even probably unless that name is some youtube person maybe?

In addition to what has been mentioned above, maybe you can use a package forwarding company. It might cost you slightly extra but at least, the seller won't know your actual address. Or just try to find a physical shop that sells them.

Best Buy (USA and Canada) sells the Ledger cases for Ledger S Plus and Ledger X.  You can pay cash.

EDIT: Or you can use a Ziploc baggie........

If you want to be anonymous about it and also not thinking of overpaying for it, then why not go for $0 case? You will have the material needed at home

For better protection, you can double it or triple it.

Hardware wallet is not something used in public, no need to go for something fancy.

You could buy a case from ledger's site but it seems ridiculous as it's overpriced.  There are cheaper ones on amazon that is $20 and less but the issue here is when you buy them, well the 3rd party that is sending it to you assuming it isn't shipped from amazon is going to know you own a hardware wallet.

The other issue is what about the people that are packaging your order at amazon?  Sure they are packaging things as expensive as a laptop and iphone and things like that but if it's a hardware wallet or hardware wallet case, well couldn't that person know you own a hardware wallet?  Then you also have to factor in the carrier who brings your packages since it seems it's mostly UPS that brings amazon packages.  However, they wouldn't have a clue of what it's inside it since well it just shows amazon tape on it which is normal for many packages.

Is the only way to order a case safely directly through ledger and overpay for their case?  Or buy an earphone case or some small case and use that for the nano ledger s plus?
