First get a good reputation in Localbitcoins and then try to trade the big amount...

Private trading would be another possibility. Good luck.

Localbitcoins but you won't find a person willing to trade 200 so easy.
You'll have to spend quite some time to find a trusty vendor.

But it also comes down to... where are you located , I have to drive 300 km to get a seller , and I'm living in a 400k pop city.

Be carefull with big amounts of BTC's! I think the value will increase even more in the future so be sure to do business with people you trust.

And don't forget to secure your wallet  Wink

Hi. Im am new to this site and looking to buy big amounts of BTC (200+). Don' t want to do through exchanges due to counterpart risk, slow payments and high commissions. I am very serious and would do many security checks (and let the person check me) before we start the transactions.

Can anyone suggest how to find the sellers?

Where are you located?  I might be willing to help you out.

https://coinbase.com/ is good if you are in the United States(in my opinion the counterparty risk is low). It takes a little while, but once you get verified you can purchase 50 BTC a day, so it would take a few days to purchase the 200+ you required. Other than that there are exchanges and localbitcoins.com. I would also be pretty scared to purchase 200+ BTC on an exchange.

but there must be other people who like to do this in bigger amounts and don't want to take the risk with exchanges. I have experience already with this when my coins were stolen from one of them... a 7 digit number with current price

anonymously only on localbitcoins.com, probably from more sellers and you will pay premium (more than on exchange). But buying BTC at exchanges is cheapest (except MtGox) and safest if you dont worry about anonymity

i understand your thinking but i would take an exchange! you can buy slow and with little money week per week. so you should be safe.

but before you do this: please learn how to secure the coins Smiley
