First of all, you need to create a Bitcoin Wallet, then go to a trading platform, a reputable Bitcoin trading site to buy Bitcoin with your bank account, and the Bitcoin you purchase into your Bitcoin Wallet. When you want to sell, transfer Bitcoin on your wallet to the trading floor that sells cash and withdraws to your bank account.

In my country, there are a local exchangers who sell Bitcoins. They will give you Bitcoins if you transfer some money to local bank. So, we do not need Paypal or Credit Card. Just transfer to their local bank account to get Bitcoin. Maybe in every country has it too. And I think it's cheaper than Paypal or Credit Card.

You may also want to check out the MyCelium wallet (Android version). There is a market place included in the app. There you can put in your zip-code and it allows you to hook up with local bitcoin buyers and sellers. It is a very convenient way and the offers are always fresh. Compared to the fee structure of Exchanges you might also get a better deal depending on your negotiation skills.

Coinbase is a really easy place to buy bitcoin.
You can buy with your credit card to buy instantly but there will be some fees. You can also buy with credit transfer; you will have to wait few days that  your Coinbase account is credited but with this method you will have no fees or less( depending on your country)
After that you can transfer them to your hardware wallet to hodl or on your exchange wallet to trade or buy altcoins.

You can use sites like cex.io to buy Bitcoins using a credit card or a PayPal account. Generally, no one accepts Paypal transactions because the sender can revert his funds even after the several weeks after the transaction date and we have experienced the scams in that way. Since Bitcoin is trackless there is no way to find a scammer so you won't be able to buy Bitcoins from the direct trader (try your luck in currency exchange section) but you can definitely use your credit card to buy Bitcoins.

It seems the crypto world has to mature a lot more to seamlessly move from and to fiat in any jurisdiction. If you live in NY, options are very limited. Coinbase, GDAX, Gemini, Localbitcoins and ATMs are the only options I know so far, and they're expensive in terms of fees.

It is very simple and there are many ways to do so. You can buy some from any of cryptocurrencey trading sites, you just need to register and then deposit some money at your account at the site, then you will be able to buy BTC or any other coin you want. I think this is the easiest way to do so.
Wish you good luck.

I prefer Paypal. Paypal is one of the most trusted and popular services for online transactions these days.

Buying bitcoin with credit card can be a bit trickier and more expensive. Each transaction might have its own restrictions around paying by creadit card, which can affect how long it takes and how cost-effective it is.

There are special platforms for that, depending on your geographical location
(Europe, US, Asia etc.), but also on the payment method you would like to choose.
Personally, I would not recommend PayPal (very high fees).

Best way for me is just to purchase Bitcoins using Mastercard (3,5% fees) or via a simple bank transfer (less fees).
You can of course start with Coinbase, but my personal recommendation would be to buy BTC on the following sites:

- Blockchain info (pretty secure in my opinion, no ID-verification needed up to 300 Dollars)
- BitPanda (really recommended if you are located in Europe, they are pretty secure also, plus no ID-verification needed up to 50 Euro)
- LiteBit.eu (if you are from Europe, good pick, no ID-verification, but you will need to verify your bank account)

Buying bitcoins is really simple once you complete the registration process. Just click "buy Bitcoin" (this will depend on the platform you are using), choose the payment method and insert the amount you would like to purchase (currently it is often not possible to purchase BTC for less than 200 dollars). Keep your phone handy, because you will receive verification codes.

You can leave that Bitcoin on the plaform/exchange, but I would recommend creating a Paper Wallet on bitaddress or getting a Hard Wallet like Ledger Nano S or the Trezor, if you want to store it long-term.

You might want to do a quick search on YouTube once you have decided on the platform you want to register for purchasing your Bitcoin (my advice would be to register on several platforms to see which one works best for you): simply search for something along the lines of 'buy bitcoin Blockchain info' or 'buy Bitcoin Coinbase').

I hope that helps.

There seems to be as many advice as there are exchanges and wallets out there.

As for exchanges, from what I've read, Bittrex doesn't allow new registrations as per December 15th. That leaves Bitfinex and Binance as the two exchanges that offers many alt coins. But which is the preferred one? Looks like they both aren't too user friendly.

I just signed up for Bittrex, was anticipating getting some bitcoin and then acquiring a few altcoins and thought you might be mistaken as I got signed up no problem so I went back to their site and it looks like indeed you are correct.  Below is a cut and paste from their page for new accounts.

We have received an enormous number of new account registrations over the past few weeks.  We are excited to have so many new users who want to join the Bittrex community.  Unfortunately, we have to make a few upgrades to our support and backend systems to handle the increased traffic and load.  As such, we have halted new user registrations for the time being.

Use a Bitcoin Exchange

Our Bitcoin Exchange page, lists many different businesses that can help you buy Bitcoin using your bank account.

Discover people selling Bitcoin in your community

Local Bitcoins lets you search and browse through various sellers of Bitcoin in your area. Sellers have reviews and feedback scores to help you choose.

Use a Bitcoin ATM

Bitcoin ATMs work like a regular ATM, except they allow you to deposit and withdrawal money so that you can buy and sell Bitcoin. Coin ATM Radar has an interactive map to help you find the closest Bitcoin ATM near you.

Buying Bitcoin with instant method is the easiest way to buy Bitcoin. With this method, you can get your Bitcoin directly at the exchange rates listed at that time. You just enter how many Rupiahs you want to pay or how much Bitcoin you want to buy. Usually, this method is widely used for beginners who are new to Bitcoin or those who do not want to take a headache in buying Bitcoin. This method is perfect if you want to buy Bitcoin and keep it as a long-term investment asset. Depending on each Bitcoin company, Bitcoin purchases can be made by bank transfer method (either ATM or internet banking), various minimarket outlets, or e-wallet service providers.

Guys can you tell me what is the website where I can exchange the BTC or ETH?

Do you already have some BTC or ETH and want to sell them or exchange them? Or do you want to know on what website you can buy them?

I want to know about $ to ETH or BTC
Buying cryptocurrency with fiat then?
You can go to your local exchanges, I'm pretty sure every nation has their own 'biggest' exchanges.
Although, you will need to do verification process to be able to trade.

If sharing your information isn't your forte, you can try this forum's currency exchange or Localbitcoin.

Depends on where you live.

Where I live:
- Transfer money from a bank account to an exchange like Kraken or Bitstamp, this is the cheapest option, the bank fee is only a few cents and the deposit to an exchange takes just a few hours
- Buy it on an exchange like Bitstamp with credit card, but there's a large fee
- Buy it on a Bitcoin ATM or almost every petrol station, 7% fee
- There aren't many people using localbitcoins around here and those that do usually want about 25% more than the market price, so I just let them keep it that price  Wink

I choose the cheapest options. If I don't care about anonimity I use bank transfer if I do I use ATM or petrol station to buy it with cash.

In countries where local currency isn't easily converted to $ and there's no ATM or shops selling it for cash, localbitcoins might be the best way to buy.

Coinbase is the easiest way to start buying either Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin with a credit/debit card using USD.

Once you've bought coins on Coinbase, open an account on Bittrex. It's very easy to sign up and get started on Bittrex. They don't take USD but you can transfer your BTC/LTC/ETH from Coinbase to Bittrex and by other altcoins.
i learnt coinbase will not transfer to some sites especiallygambling sites.

First you want to buy a bit then you must first have a purse to store it here I usually use these two types of wallet is coinbase.com or blockchain.infor. Then you can buy bits from people you know so they can transfer bitcoin to your wallet or also buy on the exchange that your country has or you can buy usdt (1 currency to buy type of coin on the floor) then you can go to the floor to buy bitcoin or other types of coin. Good luck  Cool

I used kraken to get some btc because there are no fees for depositing fiat. (I can only tell about euro, but I think they also won't be a fee on usd)

You also don't have to provide your id.

But pay attention that the bank account name you are depositing from matches your provided name on kraken!

Otherwise it won't work and you have to open a support ticket.

I think you should buy your bitcoins at a exchange like bitfinex or kraken. You can deposit from you bankaccount there. If you have a account at Fidor bank, you can transfer your fiat instant to your kraken account!

Coinbase doesnot support in many asian countries. It is the safest way to buy bitcoin but if you are asian then use paypal/payoneer card linked with your europeon account can help u buy easily and safely.

Depends on your needs and reason for buying bitcoins.

If you want to trade - chose exchange, register, verify (if needed), deposit some amount via bank, and buy btc on screen.
If you want it for smth else like holding or personal needs - go to localbitcoins, buy and transfer to your personal wallet.

There's a general agreement from people on this forum that Paypal is bad for Bitcoin. A lot of that is driven by the sales of physical cryptocoins, which I know you aren't trying to do here. But the Paypal has had policies written to forbid the purchase of currencies using Paypal (which is kind of ironic). Additionally, there aren't equal protections for the buyer and the seller.

Credit card is a better option. Plus, won't you get some points or cash back or flyer miles or hotel points, etc?!
