You will see them when you visit etherscan.io and putting the eth address on the search box, you only need to add custom tokens when you want to send it out.

You just need to check through ethplorer.io or etherscan.io only. If the token you are referring to doesn't appear make sure the team of the bounty campaign has already sent it.

They will show up on etherscan or ethexplorer yet you need to consider that airdrop and abundance appropriations require significant investment.

Hi,

I am afraid I dont get it - I am taking part in several bounties and airdrops - they should transfer tokens to my ETH address (I use Myetherwallet). Where exactly should I see balances for such tokens? Should they be visible in etherscan.io or ethplorer.io? Or do I need to click "Add cutom tokens" to see them??

Thanks
You can checkt your mew tokens in etherscan or ethplorer either of the two will show all of your tokens, but first make sure you have installed metamask extension to protect your private keys from the hackers, also add metacert extension that is recommended by myetherwaller.com to be used with metamask to protect your investments from phishing sites which can steal all of your coins,be careful with the websites you are getting into and do not download any suspicious software.

So it is just about the airdrop tokens. I thought you bought something and they cannot give it.
Perhaps, you could edit your posts so that no one will be confused again to what they will comment here.
You will get answers that are out of the question sometimes when the question itself is not clear.

If it is airdrop then you might want to wait. Sometimes they do airdrops before the ICO just so the token will be known by the public. A strategy to make the token inviting even to those small investors. So wait for another 2 months before it will be distributed.  Grin

If you want to check your token balance then there is no need to open your wallet, this can be done using etherscan, it will show you the balance of tokens in that wallet. There is no need to be opening your MEW or any wallet just to check your balance, this is a newbie question to me

To add markers, you must manually take a look at  etherscan. There are a few more reasons Why you can't just get tokens from airdrop, you should have at least 0.005 ETH on your wallet, and it's advisable to make a few transactions! I didn't get many good coins just because of that!

you can check it without having to access your wallet. as you say, you can create an account at etherscan.io, then you add your eth address. you can monitor at any time without having to bother.

You can check the status of all tokens at a particular address via https://etherscan.io/
If you don't see a specific token in your myetherwallet balance, you will have to add it as a custom token.

It's very simple, you can use Etherscan.io, This is the same tool as blockchain.info. Everything is absolutely the same. After all, the blockade was made just so that you could see from whom how much money now. But in any case, I believe that you should not leave your private keys anywhere.

They will appear on etherscan or ethexplorer but you have to consider that airdrop and bounty distributions take time.

Thanks, thats what I though - yeah it seems non of the airdrops/bounties has finished yet = is not distributing coins yet...
you can see in etherscan, if bounty is over, and usually bounty payment will be distributed 30 days after ICO ended

if you want to check your balance on myetherwallet,  you must add the custom token first.
but if you dont want a hassle, you can just check your balance on etherscan.io with your address only.

At first, I only use etherscan because that is what my friends and colleagues said. But apparently after some weeks, I notice that some token disappear when i check etherscan. Then that's how i learn about ethplorer i saw all my token listed there.

You can check it by opening myetherwallet but I won't advise that since it may be vulnerable to the hackers. Therefore, it is better to check your token balances in the sites like "https://etherscan.io", "https://ethplorer.io" and "https://deltabalances.github.io"

Check your Etherwallet  balance is very simple and easy to locate, the step one you visist the site: https://www.myetherwallet.com/#view-wallet-info  and you see many option and choose  "View w/ Address Only" and the option did not required your private key and is only your wallet ID. and click enter and your account information we apper and displayed with a graph lines if there is any token send in. and all shows in details (time and date). But if no token send in before nothing like graph line and it look empty. and secondly you can also loging propare by using your private key to check your balance by selecting " Private Key" and click enter, next thing to locate at your right hand side and select "Tokens (Ethplorer.io)"  and double click and it will lead to new link and accout balance we displayed.

You don't need myetherwallet to check your token balance. visit  https://etherscan.io and put the eth you want to check the balance and hit search. it will show you the balance and the balance of all your custom tokens.

you can check in ethplorer.io for all transaction of altcoins tokens that are outgoing or receiving .
if my ether wallet does not have the tokens you receive you can add custom to them to appear in your wallet.
but it is safe because MEW will update and your token will be listed there it will automatically appear
don't get fear because MEW is safe as long as you dont get to a phising site

you could just see it through etherscan.io... And you should confirm first whether they already started their distribution or not. And if yes and still you cant see the tokens, you could go to wallet and manually add the token that you have

I use erherscan.io and ethplorer.io.
Sometimes they show different token price. But you can check transfers here.
I use Etherscan to see what coins I have in the wallet, they also show many other tokens that are in the wallet that most blockexplorers can't view.

I usually check the token balance in myetherwallet in ethplorer.io. if it does not exist, may not have been shared by his bounty project. usually the distribution of tokens takes a little time, even up to 1 month. I've experienced it, and much longer when you wait for the token in the exchanger list. so just be patient.

They should be appearing in etherscan, maybe the bounty you participate in have not ICO yet so the coins is not distributed. Mostly the coins will only be distributed after ICO.

Your comment already shows that you got an idea of how it works. Etherscan and Ethplorer are where you go to view all your ether and token related transactions. You can view most of your tokens using either of the two without any action from your side. But some of the tokens that appear in the chain may not be visible in your MEW account, hence you may need to add them manually as mentioned in some earlier comments above.

My 1M Dollar Advice for you:

Your MEW is your bank, guide it jealously. Stay secure and you will enjoy the cryptospace.

There are two ways on how to check etherwallet token balances in Myetherwallet. First is the Etherscan (https://etherscan.io) and second is Ethplorer (https://ethplorer.io ) . I'd prefer to use the ethplorer because you can see your tokens directly. This way can helps you to find out that you have been received any coins/token from a bounty campaign, airdop, or in trading. If your token have already a value from the market, it will appear below to your token. It is already calculated base from the current value of the token.

Click on the view wallet info, if you cannot see it because you are using your mobile phone try to see the arrow on the right side pointing towards the right also. This double arrow suggest the additional option to see your wallet contents and add the public address key for viewing to avoid getting hacked. Then scroll below to see the tokens.

I suppose you have enough answers already. I just want to make some addition. Sometimes Etherscan doesn't show some tokens. If you want to check the particular token which you suppose you should have just go through the link: https://etherscan.io/token/?a=. You need to change with the contract address of the token and with your wallet.

To check balances from the myetherwallet it is quite possible through different ways. Starting from the use of wallet address, private key, wallet file and other ways let user know the token balance. Some tokens need to be added manually so to view the balance.

you can check your myetherwallet by using your private key and logging in your address, however that's definitely not the recommended option. The easiest way is to use etherscan to see your balance. In case you decided to go through mew anyway for the peace of your mind, then just check your balance using your public key instead of logging in and add custom token. Hope it helps.

Check at ethplorer, if you not sure the bounty or token is not distributed yet check their official announcement. Ussualy they tell at what date the token distributed.

You'll see that in Etherscan.io = https://etherscan.io
Similar to Bitcoins transactions in blockchain etherscan is made so you can also see the ones you received and the transaction history.

With Add Custom Wallet, you need to have your token appear on your wallet and you can send it to others.
