Well enough reply telling you to looking into the account well and there is nothing the forum can do about members name so far it's not going against the rule of the forum the best thing right now is to lock the thread to avoid spamming since you have at least getting to good answers

Just improve your observation and you would be fine

My observation is fine but I am wondering if names can be misused later on.

Also, I dont think there are any rules preventing users to use any username they want.

That the whole point of this thread, should this be prevented by forum or it left to the user to be smart enough to understand than we still can have impersonator of famous personalities.

If real Nick is registering with his own name then I guess he will publish his key/signed message to confirm the identity. If he need to remain anonymous then there is no need to use his own name.

I think it should be prevented from forum but it will become burdensome for the forum.
End user should verify these things but I doubt that all of them will be that smart.

The Andreas Antonopoulos accounts have never posted on the forum.
Nick Szabo has made only 3 posts, one being written today. All 3 posts are decent, he is not a shitposter and seems fluent in English so there doesn't seem to be a reason to worry I think. Also, I dont think there are any rules preventing users to use any username they want.

There's no way to know for 100% sure if those accounts are actually legitimately theirs, unless you straight off ask them on Twitter or any other site that you can guarantee that you're messaging the legitimate person.

I really don't know about imposter rules though, as people could easily have similar names. I think they should only get banned if for instance the Nick Szabo account claimed to be the legitimate Nick Szabo(the actual computer scientist/cryptographer), and take advantage of the name.

Until they are actively impersonating the person, and deceiving other members it may not be worth a red trust.
But a neutral trust witha feedback indicating it's not the actual individual can be left, so as to warn other members.

Forum usernames are just nicks, and anyone can use any available name. No doubt there are people who actually bear those names. So it might not always be a case of impersonation.

It's would have made more meaning if you had also out the link to the profile you claimed where being victim of impostors so we can evaluate them.

I don't think it's possible for more than one individual to bear completely the same name the imposter can only make some adjustments that are very hard to detect if one doesn't pay apt attentions

The forum can prevent one from using any name that has not been used before regardless of its similarity with another user and most impostors try to go for established account so a simple rank difference Can be used to detect them.

Just improve your observation and you would be fine

Today while reading in this forum I come across a profile Nick Szabo.

Anyone who has read about Bitcoin/Ethereum technicalities should be already aware of who actually is Nick Szabo

I remember people putting -ve trust for their profile impersonation in this forum but this is much bigger because somebody impersonated the profile of famous cryptographer. (I really doubt that real Nick Szabo registering here in 2017.)

Is any policy in place so that we can be assured that we are not getting impostor profiles of these famous personalities.

Look like we have impostor for  Andreas Antonopoulos too.
