I downloaded the newest BTG wallet from the main webpage

and ran it with my Core wallet.dat pasted in the AppData\Roaming BTG folder (Windows)
and it showed up quickly (as soon as the blockchain downloaded) and easily, just like when I claimed my BCash.

Now just waiting for a similar Bitcoin Diamond wallet to be released.

The Wallet lets you claim the less valuable forks but as soon as you introduce your private key the BITCOIN DIAMOND balance is gone.

On top of that... it's a "closed source" wallet... on a website with no FAQ, no Support, no About... ONLY download links? Hmmmm alarm bells are starting to ring!

Tried bitpie but for me was too much of a hassle. First bither then bitpie..somewhere on the way got confused on what I need to do. Finaly found a wallet that I could use to claim most of the forked coins https://www.excrypts.org/ Easy and fast!

No, reindexed and rescaned but still no BTG shows in wallet. It still shows only all my BTC transactions. Now I will reinstall it full without bootstrap

edit:  that is also  not working, no BTG again.

Anybody has experience with claiming BTG from core wallet?

Did the BTG core "rescan/reindex" when you put the new wallet in? If it did, you should double check your BTC addresses on https://btgexplorer.com and see if they show a BTG balance.

If they show a balance, then it's possible that either BTG Core didn't rescan/reindex properly... Or it hasn't actually started using the new wallet file that you copied in.

If the explorer doesn't show any balance, then your BTC addresses didn't contain any BTC when the fork happened.

I have one question:
I have btc core wallet. Downloaded BTG core wallet. synced ( using bootstrap). closed.
 Put in it my wallet.dat from btc wallet. Started. now everything is there, but no BTG.  How to "claim" it ?

This user is spamming his url everywhere in the forum. Just check his post history. This also makes me think that this is the new "Electrum Gold" software which was stealing private-keys some time ago.

Of course it is a scam. Any website asking for private keys or wallet seeds to "claim" coins is a scam.

Even with all this fact staring the face of many, a lot of people would still fall victim of this kind of cheap scam that could have been avoided just by seeking the right information. Every time there is a new fork, people who have initially castigated the idea would be the ones eager to want to claim their own coin and because of the anxiousness, the scammers will capitalize on that as a means to get their victims. To those set of people, I am never sorry for them.

this website appears to be a SCAM... being spammed by a bunch of newbies... the official site is www.coinomi.com and they have ONLY (officially) released a wallet for Android

"claim" is just terminology that become popular from the airdrop stuff where you had to "claim" tokens or coins or whatever by signing messages from addresses to prove ownership etc.

With the Bitcoin forks, you don't really "claim" anything. Like you said, when there is fork, a "snapshot" occurs at the point of the fork and your private keys now have value on the forked blockchain.

A possibly more "correct" term would be something like "access". ie. "To access your BTG you need to install BitcoinGold Core...", "You can access your BTG by sweeping private keys using Coinomi" etc

Bitcoin Gold can be easily claimed using Coinomi.

Bitcoin Diamond has no wallet yet and also there's no exchange which accept it. There are only a bunch of exchanges like binance which accept Bitcoin Diamond future. So wait for further updates (although I think there won't be any furter update about Bitcoin Diamond...)

Well, currently there is no wallet supporting Bitcoin Diamond. And yes there is a wallet that is supporting Bitcoin Gold as I know. That is Coinomi, you can get free Bitcoin Gold from any wallet.

For Bitcoin Gold, I also not get the wallet yet and I believe it should have now and not too sure about it. For Exchange, if you have Bitcoin at Bittrex and Binance you should get the Bitcoin Gold.

That's the point... you can't "claim" it... it doesn't current exist. THERE IS NOTHING TO CLAIM. There is no code, there is no wallet... there is no blockchain!!?!

The only thing being traded on a couple of shitty exchanges are some "tokens" representing BCD "futures"... you cannot deposit nor withdraw BCD... IF you happened to have some BTC on these exchanges, they would have credited you these tokens... people are gambling that BCD is actually going to happen, or that it is a scam.

Those selling, probably think it's a scam that isn't going to happen and are happy to sell what they consider to be "worthless" tokens to suckers buying them for BTC... The buyers think that BCD is actually going to be a "real" coin someday... and are hoping that the actual price once it exists will be higher than what they're currently buying it for.


- If it turns into a real coin and price is higher than now, the sellers maybe lose out on making more money... buyers can sell at the higher price and profit
- If it turns into a real coin and price is lower than now, the sellers "win"... the buyers lose, but there is the possibility it could recover at a later date.
- If it turns out to be a scam, the sellers "win"... the buyers lose with no hope of recovery

For now, unless you had BTC on the exchanges handing out BCD tokens... you get nothing... If it actually turns into a real coin, then you can think about claiming them.

Btcd is a scam or not. It doesn't matter.
The most important point is its have value and we are supposed to own it.

You have either a MultiSig or a 2FA wallet (I'll go ahead and guess 2FA?)...

At the moment, the process for claiming BTG is SUPER technical for people who have their coins in Electrum MultiSig or 2FA wallets... you have to extract all your keys (NOTE: You can NOT simply right click on the address and go export keys!)... then you need to manually craft a transaction... and then finally sign it with BitcoinGold Core.

Hopefully someone will release a BTG compatible version of Electrum soon... and all the people with coins in MultiSig and 2FA wallets will be able to get their coins.


There is no expiration date... the coins will sit on those addresses until moved.

As for BCD, honestly... I've not seen anything that makes me think that fork will ever eventuate to anything... Anonymous dev team... no links to source on github... facebook looks dead... no one seems to know anything about it...

When I claiming BTG,it said my wallet starts with "3",so I need to wait still.
Anyone having the same problem?
