I have no used my trezor for about 8 months and it seems now there is a new firmware that needs to be installed and some bugs that needs to be fixed since my lat visit to the my trezor website to access my account. The problem is now when I try to connect with Firefox and linux, after plugging in My trezor, there is no communication and then after sometime on the screen it shows me a software bridge for linux to download. Iselect linux 64bit and download but the package never installs or opens. It is like I am missing dependencies or ??Is there w way to install the newest software without problems on ubuntu16?

There are 2 options
* FIRST - Use TREZOR Chrome extension
* SECOND - Offline with Python tools

For FIRST:
* Install chrome
* Install TREZOR Chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/trezor-chrome-extension/jcjjhjgimijdkoamemaghajlhegmoclj

For SECOND:
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python-trezor

Above command will download the package lists for Ubuntu 16.04 on your system. This will update the list of newest versions of packages and its dependencies on your system.
After downloading the latest package list with the help of above you can run the installation process.

If python-trezor is not installed on your pc then the command 'dpkg -L python-trezor' will give followin error.
Code:
deepak@deepakub16:~$ dpkg -L python-trezor
dpkg-query: package 'python-trezor' is not installed
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.
deepak@deepakub16:~$

After system update use the following command to install python-trezor:

Code:
sudo apt-get install python-trezor

Make sure that you have set up your udev rules correctly. See https://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-user/settingupchromeonlinux.html#manual-configuration-of-udev-rules for more info.

Yes I am using the version of software that they offer now on the site.
You are saying to run

build-essential cmake curl libcurl4-gnutls-dev libprotobuf-dev pkg-config libusb-1.0-0 libusb-1.0-0-dev libmicrohttpd-dev libboost-all-dev protobuf-compiler

in the command line to install dependencies or?
Let me try on my ubuntu mate, I'll let you know if it works.

Ps: Alternate solution is chrome extention.
