the admin here has never once bothered to reply to any of my requests for help.
makes me wonder what is really going on here. sure he is busy.

I'm willing to bet you're being ignored as your question has been answered quite a few times and that being, they do not remove personal info.

It seems unfair anyway if the person doxed isn't involved in anything, and also dangerous.

The way I see it is you have 2 options:

1. Erase your digital footprint and start again.

2. Live with it and move on

Removing personal information is a pointless reduction in freedom. If someone found your personal information to post it, then anyone can find it (probably very easily).

A thread in scammer accusations with dox claiming to be yours appears to have been deleted. Does this policy not apply when the dox is yours?

As I said in that thread, and theymos said here, you don't report it so the police will do anything, you report it so you have a documented history in case something does happen, to either you or the aggressor.

Yes, but the police are probably less likely to do anything about it.

I've had some experience with this, you don't report this kind of stuff so the police will do anything about it, you report so you can establish a history in case something does happen. If you are ever involved in an incident, and need to defend yourself in court, or in an investigation, being able to produce a history that's already on the record is invaluable to be able to show that you did fear injury or death.

you're overreacting. there's nothing there indicating that he's organizing a death bounty on you.

Agreed - you are overreacting.  I've received PM death threats.  They are all talk.  Ignore them.

IIRC, PG received threat PMs and did report to the authority, and it seems nothing happens afterwards. Smiley

If someone publicly posted a death threat here, report it. That's not allowed.

Removing personal information is a pointless reduction in freedom. If someone found your personal information to post it, then anyone can find it (probably very easily).

You should report the threat to police. They won't do anything about it, but the record of the threat will be helpful in court in case someone does attack you and either you or attacker gets injured.

Thanks for replying theymos. Here is the quote of the post :

This user is trying to frame me as the developer of an alt-coin called SilkCoin and is spreading my personal info everywhere and organizing people to put a death bounty on me.

As I can see, all your personal information is available in the whois history of c***gam.net. Most likely gorilla got it from there... and as u r in High School... I would suggest u to report it to your parents.

You should contact authorities (police) not just forums administrator, but you may ask for IP of that user from him also to help the case if the attacker didn't cover the traces.

Theymos has already stated in multiple times in multiple threads that he is not going to release any user's IP without a Court's subpoena. Even mods dont have access to IP information, most probably not even the global mods. On request, Theymos may only check if 2 users are from the same IP.
Then like i said...contact authorities.
Also i didn't know about that.

Don't bother trying to get your personal details removed. The forum won't remove it.

Hello all

I've just been made aware that a user here on Bitcointalk is trying to frame me and has made death threats against me. Somehow this user has found out all my personal details and is posting it everywhere on the BitcoinTalk forums. This has put my life in danger, who do I contact about this? The administrators (is there an e-mail or something), moderators, authorities? I need this to be addressed urgently as this is my life that is being threatened.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
ShimalH
