I must say right away that such topics are clearly in this section, but in order not to clog them up, I created a separate one with different diversions.

Addicted people clearly have one problem:
They start playing with the money they set aside for the game, after they lose it, they take up money that is no longer intended for games and continue to lose. As a result, this leads to absurd situations and difficult moments in life.

You can block your casino account, but will that help? Of course not, in two minutes you can create a new one or go to another casino that will be no worse than the rest.
What should a gambling person do nowadays? How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.
Let's sort it out by points and try to give everyone their own version or experience, maybe it will help someone, including me.

It's not about getting rid of the casino completely, but only distribution and self-control.
I really hope that you will share your personal experience.

They gamble with money that is not intended for gambling because they decided to start chasing their losses, in order for you not to be a careless gambler you shouldn't bet with more than 5 percent of your income and if you feel the urge to gamble after losing that 5 percent don't give in to the feeling, you must be learn to exercise self control. Chasing your losses can make you addicted to gambling and it can also make you bankrupt. My advice to people that can't control their emotions is to stay away from gambling totally. The solution to this is just to restrict yourself

  • Respecting money
  • Prioritizing more important needs.
  • Love your family.

The 3 things I said might make more sense for a gambler to maintain his own mentality without having to become an addict or gamble continuously spending money and making trouble for himself.
Respecting money, of course everyone can get money in any way. However, it is not easy for everyone to appreciate the money they have even if it is only $0.1. If a gambler can appreciate his money, he will definitely only gamble using small amounts of money.

Prioritizing more important needs such as economic needs or the need to give money to his wife or children which is the main priority. With this, a gambler will always prioritize his family members.

And finally, loving family is the key to all problems. When we have a very close relationship with our family, of course we will never have the intention to make trouble for our family by gambling excessively and only betting when we have little money left.

Some gamblers think that if they want to quit gambling, they can do it on an instant. Nope, that's not possible because there will be a process on how to get rid of addiction and that's going to take time and patience of every gamblers that are wanting to do it. While the others whom can control their emotions and themselves can easily do this based on the experiences that they've got before. So, self control is a must and the admission that you're an addicted gambler. You can't quit addiction if you're not admitting to yourself that you're an addicted gambler.

And that's why acceptance is the first step that one has to do. Next is to gradually avoid any additional bets, keep on going with the process and bet if you can but don't add more amounts and let the set budget and bankroll you have to be gone if you're not lucky within the day. Later on, your appetite with gambling is going to decrease because you think that you're not lucky enough and you're spending money that you should have spent it in other things. The encouragement will be gone on you and that's how you're going to start losing grip with gambling as the day passes by until you're able to overcome your own gambling addiction.

In any case if you experience a problem then the first thing you should do is eliminate the cause or trigger that caused the problem, meaning in addiction problems the main thing you should focus on is not solving the impact but overcoming the trigger, you need to change and correct your perspective on gambling first such as eliminating the idea that gambling can give you a lot of money.

And the second is you can try some of the ways that I have done that made me successfully recover from addiction such as deleting or blocking anything that can connect you to gambling, if you are involved in an online casino then you can delete or block your personal account from your local bank, another thing you have to research the email and google account attached to your smartphone to avoid various gambling promotions and the last is you have to create distance between you and your gambling environment such as with some fellow gamblers that you know, for me some of these ways work and you can try them, my friend. The reason why I think some gamblers get so addicted to gambling is that they lack the ability to stop gambling when they are supposed to stop. If you are a gambler and you have a gambling budget, after losing the amount, the best thing to do is just to stop gambling for that time, don’t even try to deposit more just because you want to win back your loss, because you might end up losing more, which is just like you adding to your problem. As a gambler, always have a gambling budget and don’t always exceed it.

You can block your casino account, but will that help? Of course not, in two minutes you can create a new one or go to another casino that will be no worse than the rest.
If you really want to stop gambling, then you don’t even have to go through all those processes, doing that is just like deceiving yourself, because if you really want to keep on gambling, it’s easy to go back to it.

What should a gambling person do nowadays? How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.
Let's sort it out by points and try to give everyone their own version or experience, maybe it will help someone, including me.
Firstly, you should have the mindset that you want to stop gambling or reduce the amount you spend on gambling (having a gambling budget and never exceeding it). Make sure you always keep yourself busy, don’t spend so much time alone because you get bored and will end up going back to gambling.

Gambling addiction can’t be resisted for most people but what we fail to understand is the casino is never responsible or they can never stop any activity it’s left for an addicted gambler to apply self control when gambling. If we should start saying the casino should implement a regulation rule we’re trying to say they should make limited amount of money because the more we gamble the casino also gain something.

It’s so simple at the early stage when a person is not yet addicted, people get addicted because they play often and I think gambling addiction is more popular as we discuss this often. Everyone will give a different opinion but what’s more important is getting a serious activity, I always talk about self control when gambling and I also think anyone occupied with work activity etc will have lesser chance gambling and it’s better if an addict gamble once in awhile due to work gradually anyone can lose interest. All this depends on the gambler if they’re willing to change and gamble responsible besides gambling is good, what’s bad is when people intend to abuse gambling habit.

It's just the same story of addiction, and the same advice is what I think will be given. The way the addicted person handles the situation is what will determine if the solution will work or not.

For some, they claim self-exclusion from the casino helps them to overcome addiction; others say family and relatives always being there for them to support them helps them in fighting against gambling addiction.

But among all the help and recommendations, the main thing here is that the gambler should first develop self-control. If they can learn how to control themselves without breaking any limit, then we can be rest assured that they can abide by other rules.
The solution has never been and will never be self exclusion from the casino, because this could only prove to be effective for a few days before you delve delve back to that casino or even a different one and it’s business as usual. Support from family and close relatives can be be quite an effective strategy to get ride of gambling addiction but the solution can never be solely dependent on just that alone. You’re totally right that fighting addiction starts first with the gambler being able to exercise self control and being able to manage his unusual urges to gamble, of course we know this is often the most difficult step for an addicted gambler to take, especially when the addiction has eaten so deeply into them that their families even get involved. But yes, if they can actually learn to control themselves, then they’re good to go.

the trick with deleting or blocking an account will not help, this is 100%. Only a psychologist or friends will help if you have them, of course, a complete detox from gadgets will also be a good option, leave yourself a phone only for calls without going online and distract yourself with something else that will not remind you of the games. I had a friend in the company who was in a similar situation. If there is a problem, it needs to be solved as radically as possible and the faster the better, so as not to leave time for doubts and attempts to win back again. In this case, it is better to end the games forever.

That's true, at some point you need to seek help.

There are various levels of addiction and if you're strong mentally and not very deep in this, meaning that you haven't been an addict for years but just recently lost to much and felt like it's time to let go, you can make it on your own. Those who aren't so fortunate should tell friends and family about it and seek advice from people who were in similar situation.

One thing that might help is blocking your bank account and/or giving someone trusted complete control and allowing them to pay bills and buy food for a while.

maybe change the way we think, that gambling is not for profit, besides that I also often empty my digital wallet balance, so I save cash, when I am in the game I have no more balance to play, and that's what makes me stop, there are many ways to control it but it is difficult to do it

Yes, your opinion is also right, trying to change the perception of gambling bringing luck in our lives is a right action because after all gambling is basically a lucky activity that everyone who enters the activity environment cannot guess their luck. So if we want to control the gambling game that we are running, one of them is to limit and control ourselves properly and correctly, just think of us playing gambling just for fun, not expecting a victory that we are not sure we can get easily.
Totally depends on how you think and on how you do treat gambling because if you do really believe that this thing could make you rich then it will really be that something that brings out demise into your life because you've been expecting too positive about such approach when it comes into this aspect. If you do find yourself having such kind of hopes and insights then it will really be that making you desperate and this is something which isnt really that recommended because having this kind of mindset will really be that pushing you out into your limits and could cause up that extreme spending
of money because you've been trying out to achieve on what you do have in mind on which this is really that too negative on this aspect.

Yes, sometimes I do that method, I empty my digital wallet, if I have some, then I try to pay some of debts, like credit card and will just left some money, just small amounts of it for playing. And for casino funds that I have left, same thing, I will just go and put some stake on sports that I followed, and then withdraw everything so that I will not be tempted to gamble for more.

It's really hard though, most of the time I will be thinking of wanting to play, but I really need to control myself and not to think about gambling. So I will just go and talk to my family and friends so that I will stay away from gambling. So the key here is balancing, yeah we can play, but there should be other focus in our lives, maybe a hobby or any social activity that don't involved gambling.

On the moment or time that you do find yourself dealing up with gambling then you should really be that definitely be wary about on the possible things that you might be able to encounter on which this is something
that you couuld really be able to make yourself having that kind of control and discipline for whatever things that do happen. The most common problem on here when it comes into this scenario is that gamblers
do really become that impulsive specially on the moment or time that their capital had busted out. Even lets say that they are really just that making use of the money on which they can afford to lose but
its something that wont really be a guarantee thing that you will really be able to have such good control when it comes into your betting or gambling behavior.

How to control it out? You are the ones that will be able to do so. If you are someone whose really that too greedy when it comes to gambling then its unlikely that you will be able to make yourself
to have such control and you would really be definitely be playing again and again as long you do have the money. Everything would really be that in accordance into someones mind or brain
because if you do really mean out on not to gamble or stopping midway or on the moment you do lose then this wont really be that a huge issue.

As far as I am concerned, I will leave gambling and as much as possible to distract myself from gambling and create or try to have other activities that allow me to forget about gambling no matter what. In that way and at the same time, at least we can make or collect capital again to gamble in the future. Because anyway, when I gamble and have lost all the money that I was ready to lose in gambling but if I find it difficult to stop, then I also use the savings money that was not going to be involved in gambling in the first place. Thus, when I have lost my money to gambling, then as much as possible I stop and will return to gambling when I have enough bankroll.

It's all in the mind. Why do you want to gamble at first place should be the question you should be asking to yourself.
If the answer is for fun you can continue but if it is for making money then you need reconsider the fact that gambling is not meant for making money.
That's why I am saying that it's all in the mind. You need to keep your mind strong and only gamble for fun and entertainment.
When you are gambling for fun you need a strong self control to not let yourself go over the budget.
You need to keep your mind strong and let yourself only gamble within the budget.
This is the only way to stay on track while gambling.

The key is self-control, there is no better solution to addiction than self-control. Whether you exclude yourself, block your account, take medication, and other solutions, it is only temporary, if you can't control yourself to gamble, then whatever you do is in vain. That's why from the beginning a gambler must learn to be able to control themselves and restrain themselves from playing more than they can, because by getting used to good habits like that, it will greatly help them prevent gambling addiction.
With self-control it's still not easy to get rid of addiction in gambling. Still, it doesn't stop an addicted gambler to not try controlling his actions so that he won't get entirely uncontrollable. To have self-control it takes discipline and help from other individuals who are more concerned about a gambler, addiction problem.

Taking those measures, you mentioned for a long period of time can make the gambler abstain from addiction. It may seem temporally to some persons but with time it might get into the gambler that makes him forget about his gambling addicts. I think that is the reason why most persons are sent to rehab to stop addictions if there is a place for addicted gambler then they should send there.

It is true, except for self-control, willpower there is nothing. If we cannot understand this and just do it, then nothing will help us. I had an experience before that I always wanted to win more, until one day I lost more than I should have, after that I do not want to repeat it again. Maybe I learn quickly, or maybe it is something else, it is difficult for me to say. Oh yes, over time I began to treat money differently, more philosophically, this was not the case before. I became more interested in learning the meaning itself, because I realized that this is the first thing, and money is only secondary, only in this way do they begin not to lose more than they should.

That's true, majority of gamblers fall to this category
But we just need to be careful on how to control our gambling habit otherwise we will end up over spending above our discretion. I have been in a situation where I deposit some amount I needed for gambling from my bank account to my betting app, after usage I still deposited continuously till i almost emptied my account. So i have learnt to control my habits.

You can block your casino account, but will that help?
Blocking your casino may not be the best option, but it is advisable we control our habit of spending above our desired amount. We can decide to deposit a certain amount of our choice to the casino app and bet. After using that amount we should exercise patient till the end of the week before adding fund again to the casino app for betting, atleast this will be helpful.

Though, getting rid of a gambling addiction is not always an easy to do task, but with the help of a proper rehabilitation therapy and intervention of an expert guiding you through the process, I'm sure it's very possible for one to get rid of this menace called "gambling addiction". However, for an addiction recovery to be successful, the sole individual in question needs to be willing and ready to stop gambling irresponsibly,  which is what will aid the recovery process, since gambling addiction is most times a product when a person fails to accept defeat or loses while gambling. Hence, for one to be a responsible gambler then he needs to know that there will always be moments when you win or lose.

Addiction is a disease and like all diseases, it needs to be cured by a doctor. The first step for this to happen is for the person who is sick to admit that they are sick and seek medical help. But what happens with diseases like addiction is that in most cases, the sick do not admit that they are sick. They hide the disease and sometimes they believe that they are not sick. And when they have serious problems with the police or are physically attacked, these are the moments when relatives and friends discover that they are addicted. And the fight begins to take them to the doctor and the doctor has to isolate the addict, because gambling addicts should stay away from games, casinos, betting shops and even the telephone and anything that has the internet. For people who are not addicted yet, the advice is simple: gamble in moderation and only with money you can afford to lose, and never look at gambling as a means to get rich.

As you said, blocking or deleting a casino from our device will not really stop us from playing again. creating an account is very easy and making a deposit transaction is also very easy nowadays. all on our device.

I have also been in that problem, spending more than I allocated because I was too excited with the bets made. now I try not only to limit the allocation of funds but also my playing time. that's how I first dealt with the problem of excessive betting. more time spent on people around us, as well as work. so use a little time to visit the casino, that's better.
It may not be very easy. but when you start to get used to the restrictions you make yourself, then unknowingly it will develop into a good pattern for you. control will be better in your emotions until you can determine the right time to stop playing.

I think total abstinence is the best form for this situation cause in as much as you find yourself gambling you still want to do more with the little you've gotten and it's quite not suitable, when you lose you stop playing and when you don't win just keep it that you do this for awhile at least to avoid future damages.I definitely know it's hard to get rid of gambling especially when you're addicted to it and blocking of accounts would help as well because it limits your chances of using the casinos and as well enable you to be discipline with your decisions, so the best way to control addiction is in many ways depending on which one suits the criteria of addiction the person is involved with, cause for some you can block the account and it will help them have self control over their gambling habits but for some it differs too.

It's not about getting rid of the casino completely, but only distribution and self-control.

It's all about self-control as you mentioned. A person having no self-control will barely be able to control themselves from excessive gambling which is why it's not good for people with low patience levels to venture into things as addicted as gambling because once they get addicted, they will have a hard time getting out of that addiction.

Someone might be able to get rid of the addiction with some assistance, but it won't be like they can keep gambling but won't be going to excessive levels because you can't change someone's nature. You might give them lessons, and teach them what they should do, but you can't implant things such as patience and self-control in them.

So it's extremely difficult for a person to be able to do that if they don't have self-control.

the problem is that a person with no self-control will need help
casinos won't vetting people without self-control to bet, in reality they could even want this kind of people because they'll be bigger LTV costumers
this is the sad reality.

My simple and sincere advice is that if you keep your funds in cryptocurrency you will definitely use them to gamble if you don't have the mind to overlook games. You will be tempted to use them in whatever wallet you keep them. Be a non Custodial wallet or exchange (custodial wallets), because they are not looking coin for future use. And in Centralised exchanges, you can't lock but the management can loock them for you if you contact them and explain to them that you want to lock then and unfreeze them in 5 to 10 years time to come and if they do that, it is better you keep it there but I don't trust Centralised exchanges because if anything happens to the platform, your funds are gone. So the second alternative is to keep the money you local bank and freeze them as fixed deposit which can be withdrawn within the agreed time frame. If you are not investing in cryptocurrency. Tell you back to freeze them as fixed deposit, whenever you have money, you deposit it in the bank. That is what I can advise you to do if only you accept it.

...It's not about getting rid of the casino completely, but only distribution and self-control.

It all depends on the stage of gambling addiction and if the development of the disease has already reached its maximum, then it is impossible to cure such a person without completely abandoning the casino. It was necessary to think about self-control before you decided to visit the casino for the first time.

If you cannot control yourself anymore, there’s something wrong with you. You need to really see why you will gamble instead of being productive with your life. Find something else to do, and ensure you don’t have access to your bank account if that’s a problem.

Focus on yourself, and I think you could do it.

What specific practices can you suggest in short solutions to these situations? You understand that not all people can control themselves, all these things can be uncontrollable for a certain range of people.
Are there any working methods? Without enumeration and pointless advice, but some practical things based on your experience. I would be grateful to each of you if you could help me with this, it gives me a lot of problems.
The first practical step that a gambling addict can take is to identify that he has an addiction problem. Without acknowledging that he has a problems then getting help will not be easy. Besides trying to work on himself by first abstaining from gambling, he can open up to his loved ones that he knows are responsible people because a problem shared with the right people is half solved. So getting help and encouragement from loved ones and also getting therapy from professionals can also help.

After overcoming addiction if the person must return to gambling then he must practice responsible gambling. As I said before it means having a budget for gambling and being disciplined not to exceed the budget, whether he's winning or losing. He must stop gambling and exit immediately the budget is finished for the day. The budgeted amount for gamble most be the amount that he can afford to loose.

The only thing that has helped me spend less money gambling is introducing into my gambling experience a deposit limit and increasing the time intervals between gambling sessions. I still have to fight my urge to deposit after another loss, but now it is much easier than when I was a beginner. It's about the same as dealing with alcoholism. Former alcoholics spend their entire lives fighting the urge to consume alcohol. How do they control themselves? They just know it will get them in trouble. As I said above one single answer to this question you will not find one single answer.

Gambling addiction is a very strong addiction. According to scientific research, this addiction is more dangerous than drug addiction or alcoholism.

How to overcome gambling addiction? I can share my own experience.

One addiction can be overcome with the help of another addiction (since the same section of the human brain is responsible for these psycho-emotional disorders). When I realized that I had a gambling addiction, I started playing computer games. At the same time, I limited the time of play to half an hour a day. As a result, I was completely cured of gambling addiction, but I did not become addicted to computer games.

You can also use another area of human activity in which there is drive and excitement. For example, pickup or extreme sports.

I do not have a gambling addiction, but sometimes while playing, I thought about what I would do if this happened. However, at the moment, I clearly understand that my money is simply not enough for all the desires that I would like to realize in life. I do not want to close myself in a rigid framework of restrictions, but the understanding that there is me and my responsibilities to loved ones, always do not allow me to forget about it.
Perhaps those who fall into the clutches of the game sometimes need to think about who surrounds them and how they would feel if these people were not around. Since playing with all their own and sometimes other people's money, which falls as a heavy burden not only on the player but also on his family, he betrays his loved ones.
Psychologists teach all this understanding and acceptance, and working with them will be a very good helper in order not to fall into the pit of gambling.

Even if their account is blocked, it will not help them because they will come back and continue gambling. Since you can open multiple accounts on the gambling site, they will open new accounts again and again participate in gambling. You can consider this as heavy addictive gambling. Since they prefer to earn money from gambling than working, they will come back again and again. But you can't give up gambling easily so you have to change your habits gradually to give it up. Spending your time on any job or business can easily reduce gambling. Once money is lost, do not try to recover it.

Most gamblers are addicted because they have no job or their job is not paying well which they think gambling is a platform that can generate more money. A gambler that is trying to get rid of gambling addiction should his best to get a working source of income because when their is no work that is generating money for you it can be a reason why one would want to return back to gambling. I believe when gambling money is not a reason for one to gamble it will be easy for one to try to avoiding gambling.
One can also get rid of gambling addiction after realising and to feel very worried how addiction is dangerous to him, but when their is no worries then addiction is not a problem to the person.

The first is acknowledging that there's a problem
This is one of the biggest step.
Determination helps, you know the disadvantage of what you doing the next is to consciously start mitigating it with time.
A slow process and sometimes you would experience a fall back but picking yourself back up matters.
Engage in something that is productive and would require your attention.
Personally never been addicted to gambling because am always conscious of my limit but I have been with a food and I tried other things when am feeling the urge like watching movies, Going for a walk or just outright talking to another.
I know I can never make a proud decision when am been emotional so I tend not to act in my emotions and wait after I know I have got some semblance of rationality.

What should a gambling person do nowadays?

What gamblers do today is control themselves from the strong desire to gamble, where there are many gambling platforms today, which usually we will sail from one platform to another to seek fortune, without realizing that we have used a lot of money and are in the stage of addiction.

No matter how we give advice to addicts, they will not enter again because they have entered the comfort zone of gambling addiction. some steps are mentioned to avoid more losses but we see in reality the casino still continues.

There is no way unless they stop and train themselves not to play similar games. But in the end they will feel that something wrong has been done with what has happened to them. Only a small number of people can control their gambling addiction, not because of advice from other people but because of self-awareness.

I realize controlling ourselves is not easy while we gamble because we will see the temptation from gambling will comes through many ways. We will not realizes what happen to us and continue to gamble with more money. We may block our casino account but that doesn't mean we can fully leave the casino because the will to come back to casino will be there and will whisper in our ear to visit the casino.

I think many of us have this experienced when we really want to limit our time in gambling. But we still come back to casino and forget about the limitation that we used before.

We really need to control ourselves by not letting the temptation come to us. What I did just to control my minds from gambling by make me busy with my routine activity so that help me to forget about gambling for a while. I know it needs practice from time to time but that is worth to especially if you care with yourself and don't want to get the trouble.

Maybe you can search for the other ways that will suit for you because what other people suggest sometimes will not work good for you.

One thing with how addiction starts is that the player first plays  with a budget just as you have said, when they lose, they do not see it like they are gambling or playing for fun but rather, they become furious and begin to chase their losses with the intentions of recovering back their funds and it eventually turns out that they keep losing and losing.

It takes discipline and self restraint  to be able for one to control their gambling habit or lifestyle. Many people misconstrue gambling for profit making and a means or source of income and to be frank, that lies the source of gambling addiction because they already conditioned their mindset to the fact that they can earn money from gambling and they keep playing and playing even when they record huge losses, they keep playing not knowing that they already get addicted to gambling.

It takes personal efforts and discipline if a person really wants to stop their addiction. They could limit their visit to casino website, gamble with a clear thought of having fun, gamble with what they could afford to lose, set out a budget for their gambling and have time for which they can gamble and work in accordance with it. They should also know when to call it a quit and not gamble beyond their budget if they win or not.

That’s where it all starts, but everything changes after a win. Why? Because many people get greedy. They start to think that a bigger capital means bigger wins, and that’s when things can go away from what they think at the start.

Gambling never solves a person's financial problems, those involved in the world of gambling must think about what their main goal is to gamble, if we live below the poverty line and enter the world of gambling, There is no medicine or antidote for them, except their own awareness, but it is difficult because most of them think that gambling can change their lives from an economic perspective, in fact it is not the case, in fact they live worse.

Quite a lot of people use gambling as their main source of income, so they dare to do something that they actually can't afford in the future, For this reason, try to think of gambling as a game and fun, so we don't need to think of gambling as an addiction.

This understanding of your's stated here shows it's going to be easier helping you than it would be with others that's if you see the need for help probably if you think you are becoming addicted, completely getting rid of the casinos is something that may sound almost not achievable soonest because its obvious business for some casino owners and even some Gamblers but trying to make sure not to be the source of income to either of these two but making as much as you can from the business becomes the main point of consideration because even some gamblers make money off other gamblers. Training yourself to have discipline, self control and restrictions when necessary is just the best way to get things done rightly enough not to be stucked as a gambler.

For me I usually take a break after losing,we should also figure out why we are gambling so that we wouldn't be addicted to it, figure out if you are just gambling to have fun, past your time because of boredom, excitement or thrill, or is it purely for the profit, after knowing the real reason why you gamble it would be easier to find an alternative activity to lessen it.

The most important point in overcoming this problem is self-awareness, we must be aware of our condition & situation, so that we can manage ourselves. I meet a lot of problem gamblers, and it's not about the platform & things outside of themselves, it's about themselves. Even if we make a special allocation for gambling, if a gambler's mentality is not good & they don't understand their own situation, of course they will return to gambling with other allocations outside of their proper gambling allocation.

There are many factors why gamblers start having problems with addiction... Maybe he started playing for fun with a little money, then was given a win even though it was not big but became curious... When he loses he continues to deposit until finally the peak catches up with the loss in the previous game.

Even people who are addicted in difficult times still dare to take risks to continue playing gambling. Because we know that after they are addicted, their determination becomes strong, it is difficult to be advised.

Blocking a casino account will not be effective, as some casinos may not allow it...
One of the self-control is discipline in gambling and organize the bankroll as well as possible so that when you lose, you don't want to play again.

I only dare to lose a little money in gambling... If you lose then stop playing and come back after recovering.

100% agree, if you can't stop, try to control it instead. It's not for nothing that professionals recommend trying to reduce exposure slowly compared to abruptly stopping. It's also what I did when I noticed I was spending way too much time and money in the past gambling. I dipped into my savings for a bit back then but after that I immediately tried to do some remedies. Blocking your account (or yourself) from playing can help, but I'd say it depends on the level of addiction.

The best method that actually helped me was just to go to my other hobbies instead, ones that don't need much money (or none at all!). I basically started studying again and coming back to FPS games just to stop myself from gambling. It worked rather well though it may differ based on how much "addicted" you are, I was what I'd consider beginning to be addicted. It might work though, just take more time.

You can block your casino account, but will that help? Of course not, in two minutes you can create a new one or go to another casino that will be no worse than the rest.

On the contrary, I actually think that this is part of the solution if a gambler is really serious to stop such addiction because when you short yourself out from your account which is one easy access you have to gambling then you have already started the healing process. If you block your casino account and do away with the password by either deleting it from your system or somewhere that you have written out then you are likely to forget memorizing it and by that way it gradually goes off your memory. However, this solution is for someone who has built strong determination and passion to stop because most times addict only want to stop by the lips and not by serious action on it. If you block your account and throwaway password then you are sure going to need another registration to open another account and that is a conscious effort.

What should a gambling person do nowadays? How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.

To build strong emotion and resistance to that kleptomaniac feeling of wanting to gamble all the time. Most times it is not easy to stop an addiction by your lips but you need strong commitment towards it.

~snip~

Learning to be in full control of ourselves is one of the tasks we work on throughout our lives. At first, our parents are involved in this process. As we gain experience and wisdom, we gradually take the reins of power into our own hands. In my opinion, there is not and will not be a single advice that would help everyone, because someone fully control themselves already in high school, and someone can not learn it for a lifetime. You just need to work on yourself every day and try to limit the desires that are not necessary. Gambling has never been a necessity for us. It is only an entertainment that requires money. If you are spending a lot of money on gambling, then you are not working on yourself enough and you should put more effort in this direction.

The first thing anyone who has a problem with spending more money on gambling than they should is to admit the problem to themselves and others around them. There are few people who can solve such a problem by themselves without the help of others.

The key is to have people you trust, and then entrust your personal finances to them in such a way that they simply do not give you more money than what you intended for gambling. It is a decision that is very difficult to decide on and may not even be the ultimate solution to the problem, because people who are addicted to something in the absence of money often borrow money from others or turn to stealing and reselling things.

Money control is one approach, but my opinion is that such people simply need to find some other source of entertainment (excitement) to forget about gambling.

It's really hard to really control ourselves, it's like someone inside of is telling us to continue to gamble and maybe we can won back those money that we lose. In my experience though, I will always think of my prioritizes in life, like putting put in the table for my family or even the education of my kids. Of course, it order to sustain that, you need to have a good job as well.

So with that, as much as I wanted to, I will just have to think that I can't afford to lose that money right now. Specially if I will have to pay like for example a monthly education for my kids. I will simply stop and then focus on the next month that I need this x amount so that I can continue the education of my kids and it works most of the time.

You are right closing a casino account doesn't really matter and what count most is how to control ones action and emotions towards gambling. To me I would say that when gambling you should locate a specific amount to gamble or when exhausted you shouldn't go ahead with your alternate saving to gamble.

I think could I did made a post towards this or a reply somewhere about gambling allocating specific fund by weekly/monthly to gamble and when these amounts are exhausted they should wait till the month runs to get it refilled to gamble otherwise would definitely ends up touching money not meant to gamble with.

However, gambling addiction and control of mind, there are people who may control their emotions and their greed index towards gambling and of course this is controlled then we can say to be very difficult for one to become addicted to gambling. But on the contrary, if planning to close a casino account or betting account would be every tendency to create account in another casino to continue gambling which turns doesn't solve any problems instead doing more harm to the gambler itself.

Any gamblers that falls Into this category is on their own, you said if they block their online casino account just to stay away from gambling they will simply create another? Who are they fooling if its not themselves, if you want to stop gambling addiction it is in you, there is no help anywhere waiting for you.

Some gamblers only want help with the reason why they keep losing and they will disguise under the pretense of being gambling addicts, that's why you will see good Samaritans helping addicts only to go back and gamble behind again, if you as an addict don't have the fact that you are addicted to gambling it is a free fall from here on.

To beat gambling addiction and be disciplined is within ones self, to become rich in this world also is from within, too many people never stop trying but the majority part of their inner force is dependant on miracle some day, not working smart and hard.

What should a gambling person do nowadays? How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.
First one needs to recognize his/her triggers for gambling. Do you play when you feel a particular emotion? Like were you stressed? Were you happy? What made you want to scratch the itch of gambling? Once you recognize what triggers you, you can now avoid these triggers. Pick up a different hobby or a coping mechanism when you are stressed or happy.

Instead of gambling, maybe try doing some exercise or play some sports. Stimulate yourself in different ways that are not harmful to your health.

Another recommendation I have is to find support around you. Make sure that there is someone to keep you in check and knows how to be objective. Someone who can take you out when you get in too deep.

There’s not much to add here since I’ve read similar gambling addiction topics, and the answers and opinions are pretty much the same. I’m guessing the mods will lock this thread soon, so I won’t put too much effort into my reply.

What you need to do is always practice self-control.

I believe that how best to control and eventually get out of gambling addiction is to first summon the courage and control to distant from it. Then strategies a plan for responsible gambling if you want to return to gambling. The two key words to avoid gambling addiction are discipline and budget, if you set a budget for gambling and be disciplined to stick to it then you can't become addicted.

With a budgeted amount for gambling it wouldn't matter whether you're winning or losing, immediately the amount is exhausted you should exit without any second thoughts. Most importantly the budgeted amount should be money that you can afford to loose. Don't be overconfident when you win to over gamble and don't chase loses when you're losing. To achieve this strategy you have to learn to be a disciplined and responsible gambler.

Closing a gambling account in itself is not enough. The temptation to make a bet
is always going to be there so it will be beneficial to seek professional help, help that
specialises in addictions.

Its very easy from what I have heard to slip into a bad routine and bad habits and
while initially we may be able to stop those its very easy to fall back to them.

Trying to solve the issues yourself only works for a small percentage of people,
I think the vast majority need third party help!

I used to play a lot of slot games and original games like Keno, Plinko, and more. What I did was find a game that I love playing and I remembered that I did love console games like Final Fantasy games. I installed one on my PC and that's how I controlled the time allotted for gambling.
The thing about being a gambling addict is we are so absorbed in what is happening there that we forget there are other ways to entertain ourselves or we could do household chores if we are too bored in our life.
Those kinds of things I can do now ever since I switched to gaming again. Offline as much as possible so that I can pause it and do other things that are important like work.
My point is, that we must find where we truly enjoy what we do online. Others like following their favorite sports while others love being outside talking to people. It's all up to us and it's just a pure mental battle.

1.Stop chasing the losses.
2.Stop gambling with the whole intention of making money.
3.Switch from a real online casino to online gambling games, that don't require betting money. There are some games, that let your gamble with fake currency or in-game tokens, that have no monetary value. Maybe this will help for reducing gambling addiction, but I'm not sure. Maybe a research should be conducted about the impact of such fake gambling games.
4.Self exclusion from casinos. I don't think that self-exclusion works in most cases, but it's still an option.
5.Gamble on casinos that have "Responsible gambling" policies, so that when you spend an amount of money above a certain threshold, the casino will limit your gambling activities.
Trying to overcome your addiction by yourself is really difficult and maybe you should talk to a professional about this.

Nothing, because many gambling addicts are denial, even people pointed out if someone have x sign is gambling addict, the gambling addict will not agree with that.

Sooner or later if they can't control their addiction, it will affect their daily life, either not productive while working, often late when go to work, not enough sleep or have no money to pay bills.

After that, they will realize there's something wrong with their activities, hopefully they will understand if gambling too much isn't good.

You and I know that there's only one thing a gambler should do and that's practice responsible gambling. You can not fight addiction if you don't practice responsible gambling because it's the genesis of gambling addiction. As long as you can control the urge to gamble more, you have conquer the possibility of becoming addictive gambler. You can design workable strategies but failure to control yourself will render the strategies useless.

What work for someone might not work for someone else. I was fortunate to fight addiction when I saw the early signs and I won. The first step I took was to block every access to gambling including the platforms I belong to where we share daily updates. I blocked majority of my gambling accounts and also my bank account for some months so I won't have much access to money which trigger me to gamble.

At a time, I will be tempted to gamble but the difficulty in having access to money become an obstacle and before you know I will lose the urge and become discourage. Gradually, I become myself and only gamble when I feel like gambling, not like before that I gamble unnecessarily. It's actually hard to overcome but you have to be bold and take that step.

self-control

Nothing else helps... you either have control or you don't. Control to gamble when you want to gamble and to stop whenever you want, for whatever reason, lack of money or simply because you don't wish to spend more than you did. The second thing is finding some other activity to fulfill the time. That can be anything you like to do, install some game and play it...or simply go outside and have fun with friends, or simply on some long walk.

It's all in us, and I believe most people can deal with gambling problems on their own... take your mind off the gambling and focus on something else. It can be hard at first, but day by day it will get easier. Those who can't do it themselves have to seek help from close people or even professional therapists, but above all, everyone should try to do it themselves... this is how character is strengthened and how we can achieve greater control over our thoughts and actions.

He needs weekly gambling budget which should not be more than 1% of his weekly income as it is recommended. But I have tried 5% and I like it. But most of the time I do go for 2% which I also like.

It's not about getting rid of the casino completely, but only distribution and self-control.

If the addicted gambler do not see any changes after he has gambling budget, he needs to quit gambling for over a very long period of time.

if you're self controlled, you've solved at least 70% of your gambling related addiction issues. Even when you're considering  all the other forms of addiction, you don't get out of it by mere deleting of your account or getting ride of the things that gets you exposed to the act. You have to be disciplined enough to set boundaries and stick to it to the latter while understanding that thier are times you might comprise on them but you wouldn't judge yourself for doing that.

As long as you've once gambled and even went to the range of almost becoming addicted, if you like delete all the gambling apps in your phone, chances are that you can't stay up to a month without going right back into it. When you open almost all your browsers and most social media outlet, what do you see first? It's always gambling related things and what if you're someone like me that doesn't like to miss out on an important game? You must go right back into it. Moderation and self control makes gambling better for the gambler than trying to outrightly stop it entirely.

To establish self-control in games Set limits of spending money on fun. and specifically devoted time for playing Use technology with self-publishing tools and math software that can stimulate your intellect Find other things to do: parties or social events to take your mind away from the gam. Through mindfulness, you'll increase your knowledge of your desires by reflecting on your motives in a journal to identify your triggers and emotions associated with your gambling. Getting help from organizations such as Gamblers Anonymous or a professional therapist will provide much insight and inspiration. Personal experience proves that these techniques work. For example, if your friend sticks to a tight budget, then she was happy with her trip. The other person has hired a trusted friend to answer. Therefore he knows how to gamble. In general, it's the case of adapting these strategies to your needs. And being frank with yourself when discussing your relationship with satisfaction.

At this point, what the affected gambler needs is to first purify his mind before any offer of help and recommendation can be useful to him. A gambler who is still very obsessed with winning some money through gambling might find it very difficult to recover from his addiction. Even if he is still very obsessed with winning, a determined person will try as much as possible to avoid anything that will draw his attention to gambling.

Where the gambler cannot do it alone, he should employ the help of a therapist who will guide him on how to overcome his addictions. The most important thing is that the gambler is willing to become a better person. I have seen a lot of people recover from their addictions, so it should not be difficult for a gambler who has made up his mind to quit his gambling addiction.

I completely agree that clarity of the mind is required of anyone who wants to get rid of the habit of addiction to gamble. If any person remains calm over win, then undoubtedly changing that behavior can be challenging for him. In this sense, I see how determination develops healing at play. When a person opens himself up for change and finds himself knowing that he needs help, it makes all the world of a difference.

A therapist is a source of priceless advice. I would add to that professional help with some personal strategies: one would be about boundaries and finding good sources of medicine. That would be the solid foundation of health for a patient. It's marvelous to hear of people who have overcome addiction. It does truly reestablish the premise that it is possible for recovery, if one is committed enough. Do you have a strategy or success story that stands out to you?

Of course if getting ride of the casino completely is an helpful option for you to stay off from your addition it is worth it hence gambling should not be part of your every day life activities that has some Worth essential values to you.

But in any case, overcoming an gambling addiction is depends on self determination to control yourself, it is not just about the counselings... Because one can actually give you possible hints of how to go about it but once your mindset is not there to follow the due processes, then it means you are not ready yet.

So you just need to decide that you are from the moment take control of your gambling lifestyle.

I was there in this exact situation and what I did is to stop playing, it helped me the fact that I had quite some consecutive losing session that made me reflect and say what the f*ck am I doing with my life, I spent well over my limits in the credit card and I am still paying the consequences of my deeds, this is a story that made me learn the hard way that you can only gamble with money you can afford to lose, if you don't have such money you should never gamble. As I said an addicted gambler can only realize this if he happens to be hit by quite some consecutive losing sessions.

No, that will not help them even if they block their account because they will come back and keep playing gambling. Even they can register a new account just to keep gambling so that will be worries for them because they can get heavy gambling addiction. That will need awareness about their gambling activity and need to check what is wrong with them and analyze to find what they need to do to solve that matters. But I guess they will not know for sure because once a gambler return to casino too often, they will not think about how much money they already used. They only want to playing gambling more than the other activities.

They can only trying to figure out the matters that happen to them and start to reduce their gambling activity. They must learn about self control to eliminate the wanting to playing gambling. It is not easy but I believe that they can do that as long as they can realize the bad things that already happen to them. I tried so hard to reduce my gambling activity and I am happy that now I can playing gambling occasionally without wanting to chase the win or recover my losses.

What should a gambling person do nowadays?
The first thing a gambler should do is to stop thinking of making profits from gambling or thinking that he can win a fortune from gambling due to his own laziness because gambling is not a job but a means of entertainment and it is majorly based on luck.

Quote
How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.
He should not gamble always, he should also have a gambling budget and set time limits for his gambling activities. He should learn how to accept his losses and quit the game at the right time so that he does not spend more than he can afford to lose to avoid him chasing his losses. No matter how you try your best, the house hedge always win.
