Yes, it's a bit complicated with IDEX, I agree, since it is a decentralized exchange. This official guides can help you: https://idex.market/guides. You can connect your own wallet (MEW for instance) or create a new one on the site. But you have to first transfer funds into that wallet and then onto their contract to trade.
