there are known issues with depositing and withdrawing fiat on btc-e. would not recommend.

I like BTC-e but they DO have a little bit of support issues and withdrawal issues.  Nothing to big and proud as MT.gox, so I recommend buying here or use BTC-e.

I asked someone else how he does it and he says he created an account on CAVIRTEX since we are Canadian and he just added that exchange as a bill payment in his bank and bought BTC with that by "paying the bill". Does that sound somewhat safe ?

Yes I just signed up on btc-e and noticed it has to be done by international wire transfer or through an e-wallet.

Btc-e does not take  credit  card but you can send wire transfer min 2000 usd and about 3 days after see it in your account to buy your stuff.

I was approached by a co-worker today who asked me how he would go about purchasing LTC directly anywhere using a credit card. How does one do this ?
