The agency ICORating conducts audit of projects before their access to the ICO, they are evaluated by 200 criteria related to the business model, technical component, marketing strategy, the economy of the token. The project receives a certain rating, according to which investors can determine the investment attractiveness of the project, its weaknesses.

Determining the real project is really not easy. The main thing to study the topic with the scope of the project of interest, as far as this topic is attractive and relevant in principle.

There is not a formula to detect whether a project is a fraud or not but a good start is to investigate the developers, are they who they say they are? Do they have the experience they claim to have? Everything matches? If there is a single doubt in any of those questions then the best course of action is to not invest in the coin just in case it is a scam.
Exactly there is no way other than do your own research like you said, investigate the people behind that project like checking their LinkedIn account or something, the whitepaper and many more but this isn't totally guaranteed to not be scammed by the project, the point is if you believe that the project is legit and you are starting to invest you have to make sure that you are ready to lose your money, that's all.

I think one of them by looking at who the manager who overcomes it and see the reviews, second see the extent of its development by looking at the website or social media

Good day, everyone! Guys, I really want to know how to find out whether a project is a fraud or not? Are there people who know how to do this? Specifically interested in the project https://zenithcard.io/. I really like the idea of this project, but something tells me it's a scam project ... Please help me!

Some step to know about a Good project are :
Read up the whitepaper (are they following what is written on the whitepaper)
Website (does the website looks presentable and accessible)
The team members ( is there any recent project carried out by team members)
The supply (what is there token sales /per token).
What is the utility of that token.
Who are they in partner with.

So this are some little things you have to know before participating a project or invest.
I think this is helpful to you.

if I think, it's a bit difficult to know the scam nowaday project because it's almost the same as the legit project. so we'll know that the project was a scam until the end of the crowdsale. but here are some sources we can use to find out about this project, such as ICOBENCH or from another ICO list whether the project is good or not.

We can't say it's a scam project or not, but you can look deep into the project, team, whitepaper, community and decide to invest in it.

Between Real project and Scam project is really hard to distinguished. But for you to be more aware you must make your own research like the legal entities of the project, the people(team behind the project), its whitepaper and roadmaps.

It is in the grounds of our rational behaviour to minimize risks instead of maximizing the potential profit. If you like the project but have a bad feeling about this, it is best not to invest in it. Just wait till it appears on the exchanges (if it does) and you'll probably still have time to join the game if the project is good.
Zenith has an interesting idea, but it will make sense only if they successfully make deals with visa, mastercard and governments at least.
What's definitely missing on the website is the team. If team, roadmap or whitepaper are not there, it is usually a bad sign. I recommend to stay away for now.

ICO projects that have been convicted of fraud, a fake team verify the reality of team members, non-existent partnerships ask for partnership agreements, check for press releases, or clarify the purpose of the partnership, an unregistered legal entity can be verified by the registries of the country of registration. Separately, one can single out projects with far-fetched problems, overestimated market data, too optimistic forecasts in the roadmap for product development ...

If you want to check on the project, check some crypto site, you may find this project over there, means this project is somewhat true, and check some review of individual on their blogs, sometime all blogs are not to say good word on ICO, sometimes they published their observation.

Reading, investigating and looking for something fishy.
It is opposite from humans.Think icos as suspects. They have to prove they are not guilty.
As long as an ico has proven not guilty, I will look at it as if it is a scam.

You should better search it here in the forum as many people has already explained it very well. If you can't search it in the forum google it and you will find the answer to your question.

This topic has been done by many members of this forum, but to answer your question, it's really hard to determine if a project is a scam or legit. But you can make some research about the project like reviewing of their whitepaper and identifying the members behind the project if they are really credible. It can help even a little bit to figure out if a project is a scam or legit, but it can't give you a 100% guarantee.

Look if you have read and fully review the white paper and check the platform on how will it go then you yourself can conclude if the project is really lit. It's hard to decide but I think a project which is asking for KYC is a quite enough good project, but always see the background of the devs, However, I prefer to wait on at project when it gets listed fresh and invest and do trading even thou I didn't participate the early stage at least its wiser than the other option.

Please, see that, we request KYC. We are not expecting failure. The funds raised during Private Pre-sale were not in cryptocurrency. We had the Private Pre-sale event with fiat currency. The equivalent was 1931ETH. Our bad was not explaining it. So, the fake investor decided to leverage on fake words via his new blog bestico.in

Since a new user doesn't have enough knowledge to understand every factor in depth, it is best to refrain yourself from investing in an ICO. But if you're adamant about investing in them, then you should probably waiting till the time pre sale is over to figure out how much the company has been able to raise. If the response has been good, then go ahead during the crowd sale.

Be kind. Always.
You should look at the project very attentively, do your own researches and you will understand is it worth to join or not. Have a look at: idea, team and advisors (their LinkedIn profiles), WP, roadmap, soft/hardcap.

SCAM Alert. Read the post here and stay away from this ICO.

http://www.bestico.in/2018/04/zenithcardio-scam-alert.html

Some participant write me this msge in telegram:

"Be warned this ICO is a scam - the advisors mentioned are being impersonated.  If you want to check that what I'm saying it true, go to Linkedin and contact Shane or Benedetta - they are both saying that they have nothing to do with this project.. Your money will be stolen if you participate, be careful."

Then I asked in official telegram group about this and I was banned!!!

So, it's SCAM 100%!

I'm not an expert, but I think it's scammers! They do not have any information about the project team and take a look at their raised scale. On the scale, the figure is 19531 ETH. And now look at their contribution address, there is only 0.2 ETH. This is very controversial and I think you need to refrain from investing in this project

I think the team must be observed. They are inventing ico where they insert the linkedin profiles of people who have no relation to the ico.
So you have to look at facebook and twitter and verify that the people indicated in the team actually participate in fairs, conventions and meetings on behalf of the ico.

Its really hard to detect real and scam projects, scam projects nowadays are pretending to be the best project with a majority of support from the community, and at the end of the token sale, they will be gone, and as such some of the ICO projects, which we think that they are not good, after the ICO token sale, are performing well in the market., so its hard to predict and detect the best projects that will soar in the market,. maybe what can i advise is that, just participate at your budget which is not really big, i mean a risk budget.

Goodluck mate, for whatever projects or ICO token sale, you maybe encounter.
