Hi, I think most of it is kind of scammy, but I'm open to it. Could you please PM me to introduce me to your idea? I am going to test it and maybe I will mention it here, if I think it's fine.

I used to be quite skeptical too, but they really do pay and you'd be surprised once you start using them! Here's a screenshot of one of the apps I use (sent via PM).

Since I'm not from the US/ UK/ EU, my incomes are mainly from referrals but they're really a great way to earn some pocket money while you sleep Grin

Hey @BTCLiz, do you use those bandwidth lending apps to earn the passive income? Simply install, let them run and forget.

If you're fine with it, let me introduce some to you. I have been paid multiple times by them.

Hi,

I would like to give an update: It seems that Freebitcoin stopped to give Rewards Points as a Rewards-Option. This of course reduces this option, but it is still possible to automate the claim feature on the platform.

Update:

Sherpa Cash, a Privacy Coin on the Avalanche Blockchain, will launch in the next weeks. They are looking for so called relayers.

From their homepage:
Quote
Relayers provide a service to enhance anonymity by paying the gas on withdraw transactions

I asked in Discord if it also works with a Raspberry Pi 4 and this was confirmed to me. By the way, the relayers get the transaction fees as compensation. Maybe interesting for one or the other.

Coinpot added the feature that you earn free tickets for the lottery by playing the 0% house edge multiplier. Right now I am testing out how to automatically use them, because they are set to zero every day at midnight UTC.

It's not supposed to replace a job, it targets people interested to earn extra bucks monthly during their spare time
Exactly, at least someone understands my approach. Thank you. Smiley

@BTCLiz
If you know how to mine something that worths with a Raspberry PI please make a topic about it. I'm interested in considering the low energy it uses but I know nothing about
Definitely. I am playing around with IDENA on my Pi right now and I will let you know asap. I think there are some more opportunities. For a while I mined JSE coin on the Pi, unfortunately the project has closed its doors.  Undecided

I would wash dishes in a restaurant for a day and make more than that in a few hours. The amount of hashing power generated by a Raspberry Pi is not enough to mine the majority of the Alt coins out there, so that is not an option anymore. (Where is the days, when you could still mine BTC with CPU's and GPU's)

In any ways, hobbyist will have some fun with this and who knows... one day someone might bring out some application that can utilize the Raspberry Pi hashing power to generate some real passive income for people.  Wink

Shhh, don't ruin it for the OP. Basically any job would generate more Bitcoin in a day than leaving a Pi running for a year Grin

But still, worth a try if you have one lying around.
Yes, sure. I would not recommend to buy a raspberry pi for this purpose. Actually using the Pi was my first experience with Linux and I appreciate this journey very much, because I learned many things about programming. I hope that this is the case for other members too.

Mining on the PI with the IDENA blockchain seems also possible. I will dig into this topic and add it in the near future if it works well.

This will be a nice way to experiment with the Raspberry Pi, but it is definitely not a good method to earn passive income that would be able to sustain you.

Let's take the CoinPot as an example : 1000 Sat/day = about 0.00365000 BTC per year, which is almost $32 worth at a Bitcoin price of close to $9000.  Roll Eyes  Now subtract the $10 used on electricity and you are left with $22 for the year.  Shocked

As I mentioned in the OP [if you would read it] I recommend to automate it. Where did I tell that it is an easy way? Cheesy

Of course I read your OP! I'm not some shitposter who randomly replies to posts without first reading them. Wink

None of your methods are related to rasberry Pi hence the title of your post is, to say the least, misleading. Your post would make much more sense if you at least gave instructions for installing some staking wallets or LN node.

Especially for beginners it is a great way to start learning about BTC WITHOUT investing money.

So is a job for which you will be paid in cryptocurrency! There is no easy way to make money, the same goes for crypto.
Time is what should be valued the most because we cannot bring it back. And faucets are a complete waste of your time...

Neither is doing faucets.
Unless you automate it, which is cheating.

Since you are not from a poor country, you could just stop "earning" this money. You get the same amount of money in 6-10 months which you would earn in 1 hour in your job.
You could just let the people from poor countries (where 3$ per month actually is quite a lot of money) earn that. But that's just a personal opinion.
You are implicitly assuming that's it all about the money. That is not true for me personally. It just makes fun. I didn't mention that you get rich in 10 days or you that can quit your full-time job. Smiley

Working is not passive income. You will have to spend ten minutes on programming and after that you actually don't have to waste a minute on the computer. Smiley

Getting a job below the minimum wage lets you earn way more in the same amount of time than using faucets.
Faucets are (another) perfect example for wasting time.

Working 1 day will earn you more money than doing faucets for a month. It is just not worth wasting time on that.

I think Coinpot could be used for some mining (some sites support it) rather than merely playing on the multiplier. Betting 1K times just for 100 tokens isn't really worth it.
It is worth it, because the likelihood of winning is 50%. In the long-run you will neither loose nor win, but earn points via rewards.

Where did I mention that you can earn "a lot"? I didn't. 2.77 Euros are 2.77 Euros with the surfbar alone. Besides to this you have to add earnings from Coinpot (~30k Satoshis per month) and earnings from faucets.

Just don't.
You can't really earn money passively using a mini computer.
If you want passive income, you need to invest money (and not into shady scammy garbage).

Of course you can making (small) amounts of money passively with a mini-pc or raspberry pi. It's not a lot, but it's passive. I already showed you some proof. Please stop telling untruths.

A few bucks every few months.
Doesn't seem like a lot to me. 50€ in 1.5 years. That's roughly 2.77€ per month..

IMO not worth spending any time on.

What a choice are there, i mean you can use raspberry pi for anything, but you choose surfbar and cabbage, this is very original approach on passive income.

Great information, I am looking forward to buying a raspberry pi, when pandemic happens I have heard a lot about it and got a recommendation to use since I am into Crypto and they are just cheap here in our online marketplace, now that we are in lockdown I have more time to study how it is structure and how can I use it to my advantages, will include your recommendation plus those on Youtube.
Which one will you include from YouTube? I'm curious. Smiley

Isn't the rewards would be less than what would've you deposit? In example, though it is automated to let the BOT do the multiplier, yet what would be the minimum requirements to get the full rewards? Is there even a proof that those rewards are much valuable than what you would've deposit?

You don't have to deposit at this site. Just use their faucets a couple of times to begin with it. Smiley

You can.
There is a service which solves it for you. You can get 1000 solved captchas for 0.5 to 1$.

Whether it is worth using that on some faucets which give little to no BTC.. i would doubt that.
But you definitely don't need to solve them yourself  Smiley

Unless the captcha is image based and not the text one. Image based captchas are enhanced way to  stop automation cause by bots, and it is the most common captchas used even here in the Forum. And once the system detected you are using automation, there are chances that they would block your IP, in which is much a worse risk than simply spending little captchas on your device.

I was referring to the image based recaptcha from google.
Text based captchas can easily be solved by some open source tools available on github.

The service i was referring to, pays other people to solve captchas.
Your software gets the captcha, submits it to the service (where it gets solved by humans paid for it), you get the answer and can therefore solve the captcha.

This takes roughly 5-10 seconds until a captcha is solved.

No, it is not gambling, because I'm regarding to the rewards. You will of course loose money with the multiplier, but the rewards will compensate the losses. I edited the OP accordingly.

I heard about using Raspberry Pi for staking or mining. Not sure about mining, but I think using it for staking isn't bad idea. You can also use Raspberry to run full node, though it's not source of income.
WhenI saw topic title, I thought content will be just about Raspberry, but there is some not related things. Automate faucets or use Coinpot isn't related. Owning website isn't passive income source because maintaining website requires lot of work. And gardening isn't completely passive and free thing. You have to take care of it and also water and other stuff costs some money Smiley.

Yeah, such services exists, but faucets obviously don't allow to use it. So, you're just risking to get your account banned. And as you said, it's probably not even worth to do it for insignificant amount of BTC.

You can't automate the reCaptcha challenge solving with a script, you'll still have to solve it manually.

Option 2: Use coinpot!

Coinpot is a cryptocurrency microwallet. You have to use their multiplier with 4 tabs simultaneously. This way you will earn around 1000 satoshis/day. I recommend to start with at least 10k tokens. These tokens can be exchanged to BTC very easily.

This is essentially gambling and not a surefire source of income.

Option 3: Automate your faucets!

I suppose most of you know about faucets. This is usually not allowed by most faucets, so please be advised that using this strategy can lead to you account being banned. There are a lot of different scipts you can find for Greasy Fork or Tampermonkey. Just install the script and leave a tab with for e.g. Freebitcoin open. I recommend using this one: https://greasyfork.org/de/scripts/370982-freebitco-in-freeroll-rollbot-script

You can't automate the reCaptcha challenge solving with a script, you'll still have to solve it manually. Or the script could try and fail to solve reCaptcha which results in reCaptcha rejecting attempts to solve it from that IP address.

Using your Raspberry Pi you can always set up a Lightning Network Node and connect your channels to other nodes.  For as little as BTC 0.0011 per channel, you can set up numerous (in reality limitless) channels with others linking to you.  You'll need to have some inbound traffic, but once you have some randoms connecting to your Node that'll take care of that.  It may not sound like much but a few satoshis trickling in will add up after a while.

Hi Bitcointalkers,

in this thread I would like to give an overview about different methods to earn passive income with a Raspberry Pi. There is some preparation needed, but in the end it will pay off. In the following I will describe these different passive-income-options. If you have other ideas, recommendations or improvements, which can be used to make passive income using the PI, feel free to post it in this thread. At this moment all three options work simultaneously at the same time at my Raspberry Pi 4. I suppose the RAM is not sufficient for running all options simultaneously for older versions, e.g. the Raspi 3.

What is a Raspberry Pi? [From Wikipedia]

Quote
The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote teaching of basic computer science in schools and in developing countries. It now is widely used even in research projects, such as for weather monitoring because of its low cost and portability. It does not include peripherals or cases. However, some accessories have been included in several official and unofficial bundles.

Passive income option 1: Use coinsurfer!

From their website:
Quote
We offer the oppurtunity to earn Bitcoin with our surfbar. You can withdraw your coins at a balance of at least 0.001 Btc, without any fees. Xapo users will get their payment instant, normal wallets will have to wait until the transaction is confirmed.

Coinsurfer is a website from Germany, which is using the infrastructure from ebesucher. For non-germans payouts are lower, but it?s still worth a try. You can find a thread here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coinsurfereu-bisher-ausgezahlt-1322259-btc-1562580

1. Open a browser on your raspberry pi.
2. Open the coinsurfer Homepage.
3. Klick in the menu on "Surfbar". Another tab will open immdiately and you will start earning SuPs, which are exchanged to BTC once per day.
4. It is helpful to automatically restart the browser. In this post you will find helpful advice and the programming code:
    https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.50406278

Link:     https://coinsurfer.eu/

Other options:

Mining altcoins:

For a Long time I used the Pi to mine JSE Coins in the Chromium browser. It worked very well. Last month the project unfortunately ended, but there are some other coins to mine.

Staking:

The stacking of coins gives the staker authority in the underlying network. Coin staking gives the user the opportunity to participate in blockchain governance and earn a passive income. For more Information on this Topic take a look at:
https://www.cryptomorrow.com/2019/02/07/how-raspberry-pi-can-be-used-for-staking-masternodes-and-mining-crypto/

Own Website:

You can build your own homepage and use your Pi as a server. You can earn passive income with advertisement. To be honest, this option is the most hardest and definetly long-term.

Gardening:

This is not really a passive income source, but with some investment it is kind of free food.

But what about the electricity costs?

Electricity costs are crucial when it comes to the situation, that you have to pay for electricity, which is usually the case. Cheesy If you live in a student dorm you should definetly consider mining. Costs for using the Pi 24/7 are highly depending on your costs for electricity, but shouldn't exceed a maximum of 10 USD per year. Take a look at the numbers:

As I already mentioned above please post about other options you know about how to earn passive income with your Raspi. If you have any qustions regarding the installation and the setup of your Raspi feel free to ask.
