Topic: how to export private key from electrum 3.2.2 of version OS mac ? (Read 195 times)

The menu in macosx is at the very top of the screen not in the application window. Look at the top left. wallet menu > private key > export will let you export the private keys but like pooya87 said backing up the seed is a better idea.

just FYI, Electrum is a hierarchical deterministic wallet which means it creates a master private key for you that all your wallet addresses are created from. this master private key is the same as what you can see as Seed which is a bunch of words that you can write down and use to recover ALL your private keys that are currently in use or will be created in the future.

get it from the menu Wallet > Seed

you should have made a back up of this when you created the wallet.

1. View -> Show Addresses;
2. Go to the Addresses tab;
3. Right-click the address you want and select "Private key".

my computer is mac OS system ,and I installed electrum 3.2.2, but I can't find any menu to export/import private key,  on the top of the software, there are only three options : " history  send  receive " ,   what should I do ?
