All the criteria you consider are very important to invest in a altcoin, if one of these three criteria is missing, the project will be halted.

I think you need to read about the project first and understand for yourself if the project looks feasible.

Most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.
The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Etherem Meta. It is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They have Pre ICO right now, you can check their website: http://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/future-of-privacy-ethereum-meta-foundation-of-anonymous-e-marketplace-2659058

It is better to be onboard of the racket before it launches to the Moon!

Everything is important and you cannot leave anything out, the team is the most important, if they do not have the capability to carry the project forward then everything else is irrelevant, then you need to look at the project itself, if the devs are good but the idea has been done a million of times the chances for success are low so you need to look for something fresh.

Quality projects and coins are a blend of superb idea, competent team, massive use cases of the product/service and last but not the least achieving the roadmap and targets set by the team.

You have to make your own analysis about the coin or ICO before investing in them.
Key points you should consider when analysis is the team behind the project, their roadmap, legal company backing them and where they are based on.

If you want to invest in existing altcoin than buy one that is at stable price range for really long despite of active community and developer team.

Well you have to do the filtering yourself and research each coin that catches your eye. Check their websites, read their whitepapers check what other people are saying about that coin though you can't really trust other people's words these days imo  Smiley
