Really contradicting on the sentences that he do said.
He contradicted his own statement in two lines. Thats why I feel something is fishy.

Quote
Asking for initial funding would really be still considered on looking out investors.
It would be better if they just launched the project and the released an IPO looking for investors. Then again most IPOs (not ICO) dont make an effect unless the company running it is already popular.

Quote
Finding out those people who do have lots of money wont really be that simple yet we know on how those people hide themselves for public not to know on what they are currently holding.
Like I said, whales dont have time to come to these forums and look for projects to invest in. Rather they have capital firms and people have to approach them there for sponsorship.

I am still waiting for the OP to reply to some of the posts in this thread in a professional manner.

Getting an investor is something uneasy nowadays, especially when you have no records of success in the business fraternity. But you can find investors around you if you have a good business concept and plan to convince them.

Hello
I'm working on an application idea for this industry and prototype and documents will complete soon. I'm looking to find an investor for start ( developing, server, marketing, ...).

I'm not looking for big money or do an ICO.
But you just said that you are looking for a investor to start.

Just having an "idea" of an industry or prototype will not suffice. You need to think out of the box and then develop something that is worth trying out. Maybe hire some people to work with you for the time being and discuss with some consultancy firms who can act as advisors. Then you can think about future like expanding your team or partnering with other projects.

Maybe you should start a GoFundMe Campaign to get yourself funded in the initial phase. Angel investors dont have time to visit these forums to look for projects to invest in.

Finding investors for your projects will not be easy at all. You will have to contact many investors and suggest them to your idea, and then you will have to convince them that your project is 100% success. No one would want to throw their money on a failed projects. Like everyone said, try to contact your family first because they are trusted and perhaps will give you money to start your project. As for the investors, you really need to convince them that you are not a scammer too.

Gonna be difficult mate. What I'm thinking is like sending them emails, a email-blast. But I'm sure that you don't have a email database for potential investors. I saw members selling it, but I can't guarantee success though. I guess your best bet is thru this forum and let members know about your project.

Have you formed a Company yet? Investors require all such formal devices to be in place. You will also require to lawyer up for all the various documents relating to your new Company, as well as the actual documents relating to the Investment proper.

Getting the terms of Investment correct is very important for your future. While for now you might care only about the money, these terms come into play at a later date when operational factors and your stake come into play.

Read up the masses of content on various startup fora, whether on Reddit, or elsewhere. Also, simple Google searches; there's no short cut to due diligence!

A company is not a "device", my friend....its rather a legal entity. damn google translate

It's not that easy to receive money without anything. First of all you'll need a something that you can call "unfinished product"  or at least very-very good concept. Try to visit local cryptocurrency events in your town and register as a company, most of the time you'll need like 1000$ to set a stand for your project. This will help you to gain some consumers and investors.

You should contact some venture capitalist. Don't borrow money from bank, it isn't good. Why you don't like to launch an ICO?? If you only need small amount of money then set your hardcap according to your goal. Or you can just make a tread in this forum to ask people to invest in your project.

If you got a good project, you should try to search for VC's.
They will invest if your project is legit and has a good chance to succeed!

Good luck with your search.

early adopters of teenage icos like this are mostly close relatives and friends, colleagues at work place and neighbours around you who can attest of your visions and passion. when you might have broken even, then others investors may join.

You should launch that APP then talk to people about it, that way if some one get interested in your project you will get the investors. The secret is the way you present the APP, it should be something really attractive to make people follow the idea and feel it like a secure investment.

Get the investors is almost harder like develop the application, but if you believe in the idea show to the world whi it deserve a try.

@OP I agree with the people above, saying you should start with the people close to you. It would be more likely with your friends, to help you fund your project, since it aint easy to start something and fund it yourself (like you said, youre looking for early investors) you also need support from the people around you. Also, get acquainted with the people who had succeded their applications or projects near you, to acquire knowledge and techniques, and for motivation purpose as well.

Then go to people close to you. Like your friends and families. They should be the first people you need to go through because its going to be easy to persuade them to give you investments to start the ball rolling.

Marketing could be easy if you can get them to do jobs for free. But buying servers, domain names requires money. Others suggested local crypto community, that only downside is that how will you know if there's one around you?

hardly on the forums you find people willing to lend you money. Start as we did to find people in your city interested in this world. Create a group, and you will see that in 3-4 months you will also find the funds. Do not stop at the first proposal, in this market there are many speculators. Congratulations on the project.

If your target fund is not much of a high amount then considered taking a loan or borrow from your friends and family.

You can also target your local crypto community and show your idea and proposal. See if someone will take a bait to give a little fund to your project.

I agree at the reply above. It will be really difficult to get an early investor here since you are really a 100% stranger to us.

Anyways, if above suggestion might not suit you then you can considered to pause your project at the moment and find a decent job. Save money and used that to your startup.

Find investors near you. Explain the concept why should they fund your project. Believed me, you can't find an investor here especially that we are all strangers here. "Soon" is not enough here as that soon may turned into not happening in actual.

If looking for a funding in the internet world, you will goes into lots of factors before they will take the deal. The information you provided is limited so I doubt someone will lend a hand here. Let those investors come to you.

We've been working on raising money for the last few months [pre-revenue until recently] and it's proved difficult at best.  Our team has a solid track record behind them and we have proof of concept.  Best advice would be to bootstrap or have friends/family fund you to begin, once you have customers on board continue to self-fund.  VCs and other "traditional" investors can end up being detrimental to the finances and/or your stake in the company.  Goodluck to you!

A company called AngelList has been around for a while, but maybe you don’t qualify for the amount of money they raise for projects.  You’ll have to research it.  Their minimum investment in a start-up might be $1mill.  Good luck.

My advice is don't get your hopes on ICO. Instead, find the team of passionate people and some funds among your friends before starting any project.

How about getting straight to the point of making a proposal of the project you are doing and see on how many are interested to fund it?

Investors wouldn't just trust and invest their money to something that they don't know. And posting one to the forum isn't enough by saying that you need people just enough to start. Add more details and legitimacy to what you are doing and if that's impressive, investors will approach you.

This is a really tough thing to do without some history of success behind you.

If you have a strong background of success, then you should really sell this when you reach out to people.

If you do not yet, you might want to consider friends and family?  These are generally the people who will believe in you most "before" you have had a big win in your career.
