when i go to program files/bitcoin/daemon/ there is no bitcoind just bitcoin-cli.exe  where is it now i know it used to be there?

you can use the -qt.exe

What like in the console ?  ok i got it run bitcoin-qt.exe -zapwallettxes

now rescanning......

Thanks all Smiley

Ok strange, so i followed the above last night, and the transaction disappeared from my transaction list and the bitcoin returned to my balance.  I got up this morning and it is back now with 2 confirmations  Huh  any idea whats happened here?

Someone else had a strong interest in the transactions confirmation. You have signed and broadcasted the transaction anyone can rebroadcast it.

i dont mind anyway cause i wanted the transaction, just curious as to what goes on in the back ground.
when i -zapwallettxes what does that actually do?  clearly the transaction is still in the mempool?

thanks

Only for your wallet and node, you can not influence what others have in their mempool.

Right click the transaction and select "Abandon transaction". If that doesn't work, start Bitcoin core with the -zapwallettxes option and all unconfirmed transactions will be removed from your wallet.
