Xapo and coinbase both don't have private keys unlike blockchain wallet. However, the difference between the former wallets is that your account is secure and there are ways to recover your coins if you lose your password which is not possible with blockchain.
Because AFAIK, XAPO and coinbase both were using the shared wallet (I came to know by checking my xapo BTC address into blockchain and i found some transactions that i never done also faced the same thing on my coinbase wallet too).

Yes similar to what exchange websites and trading websites do. This way they don't charge us any receiving fee. However, it's a matter of choice whether a person wants to use blockchain and own the wallet completely or they want their coins to be safe and secure with a bank like xapo/coinbase.

Xapo doesn't give you your private address Sad
If you want you can use dekstop wallet and then move your BTC from Xapo there, that way you can have your pivate key and you can take control fully your wallet from there Wink

Xapo doesn't give you the private key to your wallet. End of discussion.

This is correct, I have has an experience with them in the past thinking I needed a private key and I then found out that they do not give private keys.

In line with others, the Bitcoin "banks" don't give you a private key.

When you have funds deposited all the funds are pooled together into their  wallet, and they keep record of how much they owe you. When you want to withdrawal they'll have the funds available. Not giving you the private key also allows them to add security to the account - they can rotate your account across several different, dedicated addresses to help prevent fraud or theft.

If you want to keep complete control of your bitcoins you must not use Coinbase, Xapo, Circle, etc. These companies are great for transactions though.

why do you need XAPO private key anyway? just send it to electrum or something than export the private key Grin I don't really see why you have to do that at all

maybe he needs to sign a message?
IMHO using a wallet where you dont control the privkey is asking for trouble

i was already sign up to xapo wallet for playing some games from xapo
but i am confused how to find my private key for that wallet
it's totally different with blockchain.info that give us private key directly after we confirming our email address
do anyone in here knows how to get our private key from xapo wallet?
